Stuck at splash screen
It might be that the game is dead and it's servers are down.
Small windowed game ( same in Windoz too ). Plays fine. One issue : no sound

I could not see an option to go fullscreen but the game is in a window that can be made to go full size. Fine if you keep the mouse cursor within the window.
All opening splash screens , intro and menus work. Stuck at start mission "press any key to continue"

There is no tea in the kitchen. The Chief does not walk, he swaggers and he can ghost through doors. Game menu starts in Dutch so play with the menus to find the language option.

Game starts and runs ok but in game the character control goes into a continuous spin. Un-playable.
Did the rename of Launcher.exe and BorderlandsGOTY.exe. Has some screen lockups (audio still played) until disabling dynamic shadows, also mouse look stutter resolved by setting framerate to unlimited (both are in game settings).
Seemed to play ok. There was animated narration. At the start was an error about missing media player.

Initially I got a black screen with a vertical coloured line (Alt-F4 to exit) . Started in safe mode (you get the option when launching) then in the game -> Help & options -> settings -> video -> change the resolution to what you need and fullscreen = no.
The not "full screen" is almost full screen except for Gnome top bar.

Initially there was just a black screen with game sound. Used PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command% and the game worked perfectly.

Black screen is fixed by disabling Dx11. Proton 5.0-10 and 5.13-6 and Experimental did not work.
Installs ok, including directx , Games for windows, and Physx. The key Actives ok. Launcher starts ok. Splash screen. Game windows opens with Capcom banner and music. Then nothing but a black window.
No issues. (When you set Fullscreen it exits the game , normal?) Restarting the game run in "Fullscreen" but not widescreen.
With Proton 5.0-3 the "Save" machine would not open, also "M' maps and TAB stopped working.

If you get the error "Critical error on launch: "Can't find file for package Core" make sure that the mod is installed on the same hard drive as the base game.
Needed to enable vsync to help with mouse control. Targeting was still off. (Could be specific mouse related).
It is playable
Alt + Enter get to a windowed full screen - but still shows Ubuntu task and top bar.
Starts off wit a black screen with the game screen in the top left corner (monochrome) - Alt and may be + Enter get to a fullish windowed screen.
The game starts and you can opt-in or out of 3rd party data usage.
Next you get a black screen with a mouse pointer. No more progress. Alt+F4 to exit.

Uplay works and logs in, a number of game splash screens are displayed. Game quits. You need to exit Uplay.

In game I could not find how to bring up a menu or exit the game. Used Alt-F4 to exit.
The game opened in windowed mode with a menu to change settings like resolution. At the start the screen would freeze but the game continued - to keep going in the game just change d the resolution. Completed the first level of the game without any more issues.
DosBox game - 1st windows flashes "DosBox" does not continue - Alt-Tab opens 2nd window with cursor in top left. Pressing 'Enter' or any key did not start the game.

Downloaded dgvoodoo. http://www.dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2.html Extract from the zip file the dlls from MS/x86 to the game dir. I made the dll names lowercase. In Steam game's properties "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS" this worked for me: WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ddraw=n" %command%
After the settings option window -> Play Game -> Error popup "The method or operation is not implemented". Game exits.

The message blocks access to the game menus - Alt-F4 to exit.
First cut scene gives a blank screen - Esc to skip. In game menu mouse control gets lost sometimes , multiple Alt-Tab can get it back. quit game gives a screen freeze - then Alt-F4 to exit.

The default is a local linux port that gives the pink floor textures. You need to select a proton version , then it downloads 1gb of the Windows version. It did crash once in the tutorial, 2nd time was ok.

Network match game - No one is there to be matched to.
Menus work great - This is no training or bot mode to test the game with.

On the first run the space / jump did not work. Then I applied Media Foundation (mf-install) fix for cutscenes. On the second run the space /jump worked ok.

It starts in windowed mode. You see you are inside a space dock. You can rotate the scene with right-click and the mouse. I cannot see how to start the game. It might be the game server is actually dead.

Native Port had a problem where the resolution was wrong and I could not get to the game menus, I could not Alt-F4 and Alt-Tab switched but the game still kept control. I could reboot from the Ubuntu menu. Forcing to use Proton worked fine.

It froze when trying to browse the multiplayer website. I did not test the local LAN option.
Error : Titanic requires that your display use 256 colors, preferably 640x480 resolution. ....click OK or Cancel. Both exit the game.

In the launcher Menu also tried "Play Game Directly With No Launcher" this then shows a small screen with menus - single player -> Choose Level -> error invalid level.
