I suggest using the open source engine Arx Libertatis for a better experience.
runs great on the steam deck with deafault steam version. do recomend arx liberatis for better experience and interested to see arx insanity
Works great. Anyway I recommend installing Arx Libertatis port on top of the Steam version
It runs great out of the box, but installing Arx Libertatis doesn't hurt and improves a lot of aspects.
Installed "Arx Libertatis" source port
Runs great without any fixes, though I recommend Arx Libertatis if you don't mind the extra install.
Already runs under Proton
Though it seems to not be necessary to run the game, installing Arx Libertatis won't hurt and may improve other aspects that are faulty no matter the OS. I suppose you could say the mod transforms it into a native game, since there's a Linux version that's easy to install.
No problems while using the Arx Libertatis launcher, which is super easy to install
I would recommended installing Arx Libertalis (there is even an AUR package). I can easily be set up with the steam version and you'll be up and running in just a few minutes!
flawless

It is possible to install Arx Liberatis I only test 1 hour for now, I will update my review if I find the time to play more at this game
Runs fantastic with the Arx Libertatis patch. Magic system is iffy on widescreen displays but still usable. Very easy to set up.
Arx Libertatis
Fullscreen deactivates secondary display, forcing borderless windowed fullscreen fixes this.
Slow and stalled loading, frequent framerate drop to unplayable levels.
Slow loading, stalling of transitions, and really bad FPS no matter the resolution of graphic settings.
Was not able to install Arx Libertatis port, presumably cuz the game's exe has been updated since last release of the port.

complication causes window to minimize when selecting via mouse input, left or right clicking minimizes window.
any input minimizes window
input excessively out of sync

25-55 FPS , high sensitivity mouse

No issues

This old game allowed native screen resolution of 2560x1440!! Runs out of the box. One little annoying thing: mouse movement is really too fast. Ingame config(reducing mouse acceleration) did not help. Ingame help text is confusing: Neither "f" nor "enter" opened those damned magic book. It was set to "F2". Also I had to move those runes to the main char("F1") and dropped them there instead of doubleclicking.

Works perfect in desktop mode. SteamOS bigpicture creates mouse issue.

Would work perfect just has the same mouse issue when not pressing a button mouse disappears. Think this problem exist only in SteamOS tried on 2 different clients with SteamOS one on Alienware alpha and once on the Corsair one pro TI

Launched the game, changed resolution to 1366x768, started a game. FPS around 20-38. Did not play much, but noticed no problems.

Only ran it for about 20 minutes or so, but it ran great, gave me no problems at all. Looking forward to doing a more thorough test with a full play through.

Works perfectly in the first location (15 FPS but it doesn't seem to be a problem)

Works perfectly
