Some enemies appear black when they shouldn't be.
800p resolution must be selected manually
Besides wrong colors on some enemies, no serious problems.
The game plays fine with the default steam proton, but the 2nd playable character and most of the enemies will be nothing but a black texture, making the game more difficult to play due to impossible to read life bars for shadowed/nontextured enemies.
I can confirm that running Aces Wild with proton 5.13-6 removes the shadowing/nontexturing for the second playable character and enemies.
No other issues to report, the game plays well, without any other issues.
Newer proton versions make the enemies and 1 character have no textures.
Outside of missing art it seems to play as good as it plays on Windows.
Some characters displayed without color and were shadows on screen.
Setting up controllers may be a little bit of a hassle but that has more to do with the game choosing the input method when making a selection at the main menu.
I saw no significant performance difference running standard Proton vs GE Proton.

No issues. Fullscreen 1080

Game crashes on startup

Doesn't start

First time setup took abnormally long, and then it paused indefinitely on "Preparing to launch." Terminal is spamming "eventfd: Too many open files."
Running steam with ulimit -n 4096 fixed that problem, but then it gets past that part and just hangs again before the window is created. No abnormal error messages in the Terminal.
After that, I killed all wine/proton-related processes and tried launching again. It goes through the first time setup again, and then promptly crashes. Steam terminal output of crash here: https://pastebin.com/eX4rjaQ8
