Must launch with DX11 when starting up, otherwise the prologue bugs out and softlocks you

Game won't start no matter what proton version I try and launch it with, says updating executable than then fails.
gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Log also says app id not found

Game crashed on startup when testing Proton 8.0-5

prime-run %command%
Frequent crashing until switching to proton 8.0.5
Finally got it to run using Direct X11, proton 8.0.5, and medium graphics settings.

Works using Steam defaults now

gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%
Starts up perfectly. Ran on big picture mode 3400x1440p ultrawide resolution no problem. Dualsense controller working fine. Using Wayland
Gyro as mouse, activated when holding LT
When gyro as mouse is triggered, controller icons rapidly change to keyboard ones and back. Also command wheel changes to keyboard variant sometimes, resolved by activating, then deactivating gyro as mouse.
Minor hickups when entering new area, gone after setting graphics to low
After encountering stutters, turned down all graphics settings to low, didn't bother to tinker with them any further, game run perfect after that.
Changed to Proton Next (7.0-6) but otherwise, out of the box it was good.
Con todas las opciones graficas al máximo excepto las fisicas phisyx funciona perfecto
Borked game
Just doesn't even launch, minimal testing occured outside of changing proton version
Game is running flawlessly. Some minor tweaks to in game graphics fixed the lag I had on asset loads when entering areas.
Steam settings :Frame limit 20, Refresh 40, TDP 5W, GPU freq 1000, Integer scaling. Game settings: Effect Detail; Med, Anti-Aliasing; Med; 4X, Decal Persistance and Ambient Occlusion; Med, PhysX; off. Getting 6+ hours battery while playing with active action and scene changes.
Until I turned down the game settings I had some stuttering on asset loads. Even prior to Steam throttling
Even with the slight lag issues when entering area's prior to settings changes I believe this would 100% be a playable expierence for someone just picking it up. Some minor tweaks any games can do though and it's flawless.
Just double check resolution and other settings. I also turned off physx related items like it was recommended by others.
Only setting I had to turn off was PhysX Particles
Works out of the box.
Max settings, 40 hz locked, 10-15 w power
On the 2k games intro logo you must touch the screen and skip it otherwise it crashes.
It doesn't like 60 pfs, better keep it at 40, at 60 it drops to 50s quite often on max settings. DON'T USE PHYSIX.
Near unplayable due to crashes but may be same on Windows! Otherwise ran well in DX11 mode.
Was okay at start but third mission was constant crashes, very hard to progress.

(GOG version) Works well
Played GOG version with Proton 7.0-1.
Disable PhysX in game. Otherwise FPS would drop below 10 in some cases
Keyboard was not working

7.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
As long as PhysX is disabled and possibly graphics kept low, this game runs smoothly.
Very sluggish unless PhysX is disabled, but still sluggish without it.
Game works really well, but disable Physx as it causes a huge framerate dip.
Enabling Physx drastically slows down game framerate and it remains for the rest of the play session until you restart the game. Performance is otherwise fantastic when Physx is disabled.
Did not start with 6.3-8

Proton-Experimental
As of CEG DRM the game didn't work on Proton without a crack. But now on Proton-Experimental it works fine with DXVK (DX9 and DX11).
Works flawlessly now, after Valve has updated Proton to handle CEG.
This game is one of the games which use the old Steam DRM CEG (Custom Executable-Generation). Proton Experimental bleeding-edge has been recently upgraded to be able to run them, and it will soon land in Proton Stable. So that's why it did not work before, but now it's running well.
You need Proton Experimental + Bleeding Edge and Steam Beta Client
Proton Experimental - beta branch
Valve just updated their betas to allow CEG DRM games to work. This is one of them. Set the Steam client to beta mode Set Proton Experimental to beta branch Set launch options to: PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% It takes 20 seconds on my computer to start, then it works. Disabled: Physx, Screen Space Reflections, Vsync Set Ambient Occlusion to Medium. Used Directx9 Client (Default option)

Doesn't work
Tried Proton 6.3-7, Proton 6.19-GE-2 and proton experimental.
Doesn't start regardless of graphics choice.
Game doesn't launch regardless of DX9 or DX11 start option

Doesn't start
Clicking Play results in the game running for a few seconds, then closing itself. No window ever appears. Using a cracked exe is NOT a proper fix. The GOG installer version does work when installed through Wine and run via DXVK through Lutris, so this is definitely a Steam problem.
The game works flawless there is no difference between the windows version until now.I run the game in High graphics by the way.
Just override the file at "/home/$user/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/The Bureau/Binaries/Win32/TheBureau.exe" .Works flawless with all the achievements all that.

Borked. Did npt start.
Doesn't launch

Installs, but does not start.
Tried both start options (normal and DX11) and different Proton options (PROTON_USE_WINED3D, PROTON_NO_ESYNC, PROTON_NO_FSYNC) without success.
Do not work at all, seems to be some wine problem.

Still doesn't work due to CEG issues
Cracking it, is not a "fix", so it's still borked! I tried the launch option "PROTON_USE_SECCOMP=1 %command%" as well as copying the "TheBureau.exe" from a wine steam installation, both without success. The CEG issue (and these possible fixes) were mentioned in this github issue: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/753
