I had no issues playing the game on Proton 9.0-3.

Back grips to L3/R3 for convenience. When the game starts you have to go to extras -> options and enable Xbox 360 controller

You must enable Xbox 360 controller in the main menu.
Worked perfectly once I'd got the controller working. This required changing an option in the main menu and switching to a different community layout.
No crashes and a very smooth experience overall.

PCKellerJoysticks.ini para compatibilidad con Xbox Series Controller
Works perfectly
Need to enable controller within game
Changed click right trackpad to left mouse click
First time launch requested Anti-Cheat install. Just clicked cancel and all good.
You need to manually enable controller - Extras > Options > Enable Controller
You just need to either use the touch screen or enable one of the track pads to function as a mouse to skip anti-cheat and enable controller. Otherwise plays as intended.
Played through the campaign without issues. Official servers have been shut down and I didn't bother trying the local multiplayer.
It's an oldie but it works, and its flawless other then the controller being wacky and needing a community one.
General protection fault
Tried adding -autoconfig gamemoderun %command% launcher options, the same. Tried on proton 7.0 and latest experimental. The same GPF error.
Other than the issue I've foreseen, the game is just as enjoyable, in linux as it is in windows.
-autoconfig gamemoderun %command%
Have to enable steam input for controller mappings to be correct...
I have figured out the game doesn't launch back-to-back which means I could play it once then if i tried to play it again it won't load.....I figured out that if i put in the launch command -autoconfig launch it once and then delete it...it will launch again without having to reboot session. This might be just a problem for me? but just in case.
The game runs just as it would, with only one or two little things that can be fixed easily. Honestly the game compatibility for linux just increases daily.
Set right track pad to left mouse click, then go to options in game and click on "Use Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" to enable native controller support
Go to game options then video and set aspect ratio to 16:10 to make the game display properly, it's set to 4:3 by default

The game is running great out of the box with Proton 7.0!
The controls seemed a bit off on my controller. It was harder to hit enemies than on the XBOX 360.
OOTB
Punkbuster
Additionally, got co-op LAN working through ZeroTier with a user on Windows.
Lots of bugs, but those are present on both Windows and Linux.
"General Protection Fault"

Just ran. Only tweaks were in-game in user-friendly settings menu. I'm running 4K Ultra (-AA) with a DS4. I'm happy.
6.15-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Very similar AA issues to Rainbow Six Vegas (1): "Disable anti-aliasing once in-game. Many other in-game effects (such as steam) will collide with this particular implementation of AA, causing flickering rainbow artifacts that are far more immersion breaking than some jaggy edges."
Controller wasn't detected at first. I would go to enable controller input and it would switch itself back off. Strangely enough, it fixed itself by simply closing and restarting the game.
I said “online issues” because it’s true, the game cannot connect to the servers it intends to, making (convenient) online play impossible. But this issue isn’t unique to Linux. Ubi shut down the servers for games like og Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six Vegas not too long ago. Don’t expect to play online on any platform without some client modification or launcher (don’t know if those exists) or something like Hamachi over “LAN” (no idea if that works in RSV2).
Works perfectly, zero tweaks required
General protection fault!
History:
My rig is pretty low spec so I turned my resolution down below 720p and it was a much more playable experience.
I tired to use a rockcandy xbox one controller which has worked in the past on a windows machine with steam
Some minor stuttering and frame rate dips when the scenes got busy

Sometimes fullscreen does not completely cover the screen and you can see a few pixels of the desktop on the right side.
The latest Proton does not work, the game crashes after the splash screen. Proton 4.11-13 works very well. The mouse sensitivity is extremely high, but as far as I know this is also the case with Windows. The game ran very well during one hour of playtesting.
Runs perfectly and without any problems
No issues

General protection fault
reaches the preparing window for probably 1 second and then closes and does nothing further, does not even reach running status.

Worked OOB, no issues seen.

Works perfectly out of the box

Initially had a black screen, but it started working after changing some settings. Sounds glitch out a lot. Otherwise, works perfectly, multiplayer included

Great. No issues

In my previous submission I used out of date drivers. Using latest drivers resolved the sluggish performance when antialiasing was enabled. With the latest drivers antialiasing can be run on maximum settings, and the game functions normally out of the box.

played through single player story and terrorist hunt it runs flawlessly

Game installation functioned as normal. Was incredibly sluggish until I went into settings and switched aliasing off, then it ran smoothly.

Mouse didn't autocenter, but was fixed by setting [\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\DirectInput] "MouseWarpOverride"="force" in regedit. Now game menu can only be navigated with keyboard, but game runs smooth and as intended otherwise.

Played through the tutorial mission ran flawlessly

Works flawlessly.

Better performance

Unplayable; runs, but main 3D graphics are "missing"., only texts and menus are visible
