Attempted to use GE (9-26 as of writing)
Putting settings on high or ultra results in extremely high GPU usage, alongside unexpected framedrops and stuttering. From what I've found this seems to be a Proton-specific issue and is not present on Windows 10.
Everything else, aside from the performance issues that I noted, works fine.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_DISABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 PROTON_NO_D3D10=1
Crackling due to performance drop, some problems when swithing windows
Problems when swithing to other windows

Launches the Kalypso launcher. Press lauch - Launches and crashes immediately after. Tried Proton 9.0.3. No luck.
Don't have 9.0.2.. that might do the trick.
Runs without any issues
Works fine out of the box
No issues

Installs fine, launcher starts with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1, crashes immediately after launching the game
I have tried the following launch options:
- PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
- PROTON_DISABLE_NVAPI=1
- PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1
- PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1
- PROTON_NO_D3D11=1
- PROTON_NO_D3D10=1
Without any of these, the launcher doesn't start. PROTON_USE_WINED3D helps with starting the launcher but the game immediately crashes upon launch. Steam logs show no errors. I tried the remaining launch options in isolation and in combination with others, but no luck.
I have also tried the older Proton versions as old as Proton 4.2-9. None of them worked either.

Wouldn't launch with Proton Experimental. Had to downgrade to Proton 4.2-9, and then it worked perfectly.

Medium / Low textures only

I enjoy to play it even with the decreased texture quality
Decreased texture quality
It is possible that the decreased texture quality may be fixed in some way, maybe with the settings of the game itself or with some extra configuration to Proton with Protontricks or other tools. But I enjoy as it is, so I am not researching more about it.

I used Proton 7.0.6 because it's a limitation for my OS (steam would not run Proton 8 on Vulkan 1.2). You can use controller to play it if you like (it fully works on default layout). The only issue is inability to alt-tab, everything else worked.
Can't get past the startup menu with the default version of proton, had to roll-back to 4.2-9, but after doing that it worked flawlessly.
I mean if you using Linux on purpose, you must have a patience to config it a little bit.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9=b" %command%
If you can't Alt-tab , or struggle to find how to run the game in borderless mode in some kind of Tiling Window Manager do the following:
- Install dgVoodoo2, because the game support DirrectDX9, copy MS/x86/d3d9.dll to the main game
- Open the game if you see dgVoodoo at the right corner, it is activating
- Go to game setting, set the game to window
- Now you have the game run on FullScreen Borderless
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d9=b" %command%
You don't have uncheck all the DLC anymore when running it for the first time. Runs just just fine with one minor issue.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 gamemoderun %command%
After a while, the game freezes just before a random event pops up. Either Alt-Tabbing or waiting it out resolves the issue.
Runs fine if you've got the patience to wait out those random freezes, since they don't last long at all. Increasing the "visibility distance" to ultra causes the game to take a massive performance hit, which didn't happen on windows. Other than that the performance is as good as I remember it being on windows.
Aside from the aforementioned performance issues, there really is no problem
On Windows this game runs well enough that a laptop with Intel Core i5-6200U and Intel HD Graphics 520 with DDR3 RAM runs it on all low at 768p 30fps. On Linux even high end setup may experience slowdowns
If possible, you may want to setup your game to run with Gallium Nine instead for maximum compatibility and performance
If you own DLC, load the game once with all DLC disabled, then close it and re-add the DLC, otherwise it wont start.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 gamemoderun %command%
Game usually runs in 20-30fps. Settings doesn't change much.
Game wouldn't boot up without protontricks.

Game does not run at all
Tried various versions of Proton

Install and play
Ultrawide supported
40Hz
The usual shader shenanigans when you start playing. It dissapears after the first couple of minutes of your first play
Biggest hassle the controller config, expected for a RTS game and nothing to do with Proton. It's still very playable and the only RTS game I probably would be playing on my deck.

PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%
Before adding the custom command
Game does not start
Tried almost all old Proton versions, turned off steam overlay and VR Game Teathre option, but game does not even start
Runs straight out of the box without any tinkering. I use Proton-GE, but it runs just fine with stock Proton.

(GOG version) Works good
Drops fps when zooming out or looking around.
Install DLC after first run of main game.
Played GOG version with Proton 7.0-1.
Run game then install DLC.
Used gamemoderun %command%
Game fps drops from 60 to 20 frequently. Keeping vertical sync turned off helps.
I tested this game on Macbook Air 2015.

100% accurate
Before you start the Game the first Time you need to unmark all DLC's! Instead the Game will not launch! After the first Start you can mark them again
Did not find any issues
Achievements are working but will be added on the second time you run the game. If you have completed an achievement then when you close the game and open it up again your achievements will count.
Work's out the box.
Works out-of-the-box
Normal problems with tiling window managers and Steam games: does not properly switch between windowed mode and fullscreen mode. No issues when running in GNOME.
Normal problems with tiling window managers and Steam games: mouse does not correctly track with position on screen. No issues when running in GNOME.
Fix for initial launch: Manually uncheck ALL DLCs and run the game, then manually exit and add the DLCs back. I did them in small batches, but you can likely just add them all at once--the bug is likely with trying to launch the game with DLCs pre-loaded, so once the base game has launched once, the problem is likely fixed.
A keybind in the game is Alt+Mouse Click, which is bound at the window manager level in KDE for move window...

Crash after start
The game crashes after start, no menu shown
Works as expected, no issues

Game seems to start but crashes and close at start
Tried with different versions of Proton but no luck
