Some part of the UI can be difficult to read especially in menus, but overall very good
Require some community mapping since controller support on PC wasn't great to start with.
very surprised it works out of the box, as mentioned from others using the launch option on deck to get it at the right resolution is optimal but even without it is surprisingly OK.
/width=1280 /height=800

/width=1920 /height=1080
Game worked out of the box with GE proton. Use launch commands for your desired screen resolution.
/width=1920 /height=1080
apply launch settings to your resolution. game freezes for a few seconds when alt tabbing back in but will recover.
First, Steam installed the game in english by default, even if you choose another language in properties. To change language, you have to launch Protontricks, select "Just Cause", then "Select the default Wineprefix", launch REGEDIT and change the language value with code language listed here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=129489287
Secondly: Game is in 4:3 and in 1280x780 resolution. There is a widescreen patch to install to obtain widescreen at your native resolution, you can download it here: https://github.com/ThirteenAG/WidescreenFixesPack/releases/tag/justcause Extract patch files in game folder, launch protontricks, select your game, then "Select the default wineprefix", "Run winecfg", click on libraries tab, type "dinput8", click on "add" and "apply". dinput8 should be set "native, builtin". Game should now launch in your native resolution and widescreen. Nota: you do not need to modify JustCause.WidescreenFix.ini file, let all settings by default.
Controllers work terribly for this game, but that's probably not Proton's fault. It runs fine otherwise.
/width=1920 /height=1080
While my XBOX ONE controller did technically work, even with the best controller config available in Big Picture mode, there's no way to map every function to the controller. Not only that, but looking around with the right analog stick is far too twitchy and sensitive, with no way to change it as far as I can tell. Also driving control with the left stick is awful, but that's really a game issue not a Proton one. Use kb+m for this game.
Aside from the launch options to set resolution, there's also a widescreen mod courtesy of ThirteenAG, which can be found here. Other than the controller issues, this game appears to run perfectly.

To set the right resolution, just add this line to the Steam launch game options:
/width=1280 /height=800
Worked perfectly OOTB
Game might freeze for 20 seconds when you tab back in it, it does recover tho
/width=2560 /height=1440
You can set your desired resolution with /width= /height= launch options
Works well
Played with Proton 6.3-8
By wish may use params %command% /width=1920 /height=1080
for FHD play but picture is not better.
Added /width=1920 /height=1080 to run at 1080p
Was unable to play at 1440p, /width=2560 /height=1440 didn't work
Perte probable du son du personnage après rechargement.
Gèles courts possibles de l’affichage après un temps de jeu assez long.
Pour éviter un crash :
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
comme option de lancement.
The game runs fine, just like Windows.

Works fine
just add /width=1920 /height=1080 for widescreen
Perfect.
Set Launch options; /width=1920 /height=1080
The game occasionally crashes on the thirteenth storyline mission (I've Got the Power). I don't know why but only when I'm flying a helicopter. On the other side, it crashes not every time I'm in a chopper

Played with Proton 5.0-7 and command params PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
This game runs perfectly with no audio.
No Audio
Occasional Texture Filtering
LAUNCH OPTION : /width=1920 /height=1080
To set resolution set the Launch Option with /width=1920 /height=1080

Perfect

With D9VK there are some shadow issues depending on your view angle but it is playable after all.

The game starts on Proton out of the box, but WineD3D will crash the game once starting a new game. I installed D9VK and it worked then without issues, even when testing it with the new ACO compiler.

Can boot into the game but crashes on new game

Technically runs out of the box, but you have to fix shadow rendering bugs with this (it also happens on Windows) https://steamcommunity.com/app/6880/discussions/0/630802344682228444/ It's also recommended to enable widescreen resolutions with this https://steamcommunity.com/app/6880/discussions/0/343787283749706779/

The game is still crashing, after starting a game. D9VK allowed me to start the game at least, but there are a lot of graphical glitches.

The game start now with Proton 4.2-1, I can edit the settings in the game, but once I start a game it will crash.

Run very good, without any issues. Just no way to limit FPS, VSync option is missing.

Works well

first run - input totally dont work. Second - mouse and some keys dont work. Third - little problems with mouse. And sometimes sound dissapear/

The game starts, but as soon you want to play it crashes and you are back to the desktop.

resolução maxima permitida no meu desktop foi 1280x1024 a maior resolução não funcionou

Crashes while loading a new game.

Compared to others I have no issues with keyboard input, I can get to menus, and do things, but there are bigger issues. I can't save settings (it says "failed", but maybe it does save). And most crucially starting a new game, it simply crashes. It might be audio related, as the console is showing:
AL lib: (WW) GetSymbol: Failed to load jack_error_callback: /home/user/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libjack.so.0: undefined symbol: jack_error_callback AL lib: (WW) jack_msg_handler: Cannot connect to server socket err = No such file or directory AL lib: (WW) jack_msg_handler: Cannot connect to server socket AL lib: (WW) jack_msg_handler: jack server is not running or cannot be started AL lib: (WW) ALCjackBackendFactory_init: jack_client_open() failed, 0x11 AL lib: (WW) alc_initconfig: Failed to initialize backend "jack"
That is weird, because music and sound effects in menu are working just fine.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 doesn't help. Changing graphic options or changing resolution doesn't help.
