You can play in windowed mode.
You can disable FMVs in the config.
You can enable "desktop emulation" in wineconfig. You can open wineconfig with the following command:

I've emulated the desktop with the resolution 1024*720, and set the in-game resolution to 1920*1080 in fullscreen mode. The game opened in fullscreen, and the FMVs were played in 640*480 windows.

Game loads a black screen with some sort of settings/launcher window behind it; with alt+tab and enter, one can eventually get into the game and cause it to actually run, but keyboard/mouse input is not accepted - shift+tab into the Steam screen and then back to the game seems to fix this. Once running games appears to have no other issues. Gamepad untested.
