I just started blastin

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Launching straight from Steam, I'm lucky to get it to boot at all. With GE and launch options, it runs beautifully, as if native.

With normal proton provideb by steam I could not hear gunshots. This was fixed by using GE Proton

Works out of the box
Not sure if it's present on any platform you try to run it with, but sometimes when enemies spawn, they get stuck in the air until you shoot them. Other than that, the game plays perfectly fine.
game dont start, It was tested with several versions of Proton including ge and with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% but it never starts
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

Great of of box
Very rare graphical glitches, could be fixed by restart.
Did a full coop playthrough with one friend.
Runs great but very occasional game-breakig graphics artifacts or crashes. Happened 3 times during a full coop playthrough.

Does not launch using default Proton version. Otherwise, everything seems to work perfectly
Just some colored ovals here and there that pop in and out very quickly

I could load into a game but there were no servers with actual people in them
Use experimental and it works
Lowered sensivity and back buttons
The game doesn't run in Steam recommanded proton. You will need to force it running on Proton Experimental or GE-Proton. Both are running the game well.

PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Wouldn't load until I found the right launch options. Occasional stuttering, but otherwise works fine.

It plays like fusion, runs like fusion, and it's basically a one to one experience with fusion on native linux (minus not having BFE).
LD_PRELOAD=~/xlibhook/libpreload.so:~/xlibhook/libpreload32.so %command%
Minor lag, but it's to be expected. Virtually indistinguishable from other sessions in SS fusion.
The file you need is in this link: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/464416336949542922/987315077898190918/xlibhook.tar
Extract it and place the "xlibhook" directory everywhere you want. In this report, I placed it in the home directory, but keep in mind that if you want to place it somewhere else, you need to specify that in the launch option. (Hint: "~/" is the home directory)
It's pretty much borked. No combination seems to work.
Tried every single Proton version. Game is not starting
This game fails to start and you get a error message.
If you omit the menu problems, and they have been chasing the game on Windows for a long time, then damn, it's Serious Sam, take a rocket la
mangohud MANGOHUD_CONFIG=cpu_temp,gpu_temp,position=top-left,ram,vram,font_scale=0.8,toggle_hud=F9,alpha=0.7,arch %command%
There are fps drop in the menu and in the loading screens, everything works practically perfectly in the game itself.
Running and playing better, than earlier on Proton 7.0-1

Not before they fix the FPS problem have no problem playing the game on Windows in ultra settings.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
Really Bad FPS need to play on lowest setting to even play the game 7-40 FPS on Ultra Settings
The games run fine if you dont take the bad FPS into count i dont know what they did to the HD vertion but it made it so it have really bad FPS on linux.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Only in multiplayer but there were some glitches on the trees time to time.
Also in multiplayer, the game crashed after playing 5 levels.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
And it worked fine.

The loading screen is visible, but in fact the crash
The game starts, and even downloads something, but after the download is complete, a window appears with a notification that the application is "malfuctioned"
Starts up but crashes on the first loading screen before main menu

steamapps/common/Serious Sam HD The First Encounter/dxvk.conf
This is the right conf path, not in the “bin” folder.
for DeviceId and VendorId you can check this file for reference
steamapps/common/Serious Sam HD The First Encounter/Content/SeriousSamHD/Config/AutoDetect.lua
for nvidia cards :
just change launch option :
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 %command%
if not work try amd cards method ( try ATi DeviceId and VendorId ).

Game startup interrupted by WINE error message "This application has malfunctioned and will now close"
Tested using Proton-6.18-GE-2 with launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Grass and trees in the intro screen flicker, and shadows aren't as gradient as they should be.

launch option : PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 %command%
It works for my GT645M, AMD GPU may not need this.
Game will not start. Crashes at initial loading screen.

Game closes immediatly at launch
- Tested with Proton 6.12-GE-1 and Proton 6.4.GE-1
- Tested with and without PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
- Tested with/without PROTON_NO_ESYNC="1"

Crashes to desktop shortly after a black screen
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 results in a "graphics driver too old" or similar error message. Using GloriousEggRoll's Proton builds also did not help. Nvidia users with the closed source drivers may have better luck getting this game to work.

6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
If you play in windowed you can't stop looking down
crash directly

Launch options : PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90
After setting PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC = 90, the crackling stopped.
Can't get a constant 60 FPS despite the game's age; better play Serious Sam Fusion 2017 which runs natively and includes the same features.
Grass and trees in the intro screen flicker, in-game seems fine (so far).
Some areas are limited to ~40 FPS even on medium settings while others run at a near constant 60.
Any Proton version newer than 4.11 would (still) crash during startup; at least now, there's a progress bar.

Patched today (2020-11-12). exe no longer has cert validation error. Runs under Proton 4.11-13, all others broke, including GE 5.9GE-8ST.
Framerate was a bit jittery in places.

Won't startup at all
Tried multiple Proton versions (i. e. 5.0-9, 5.13-1 and 5.11-GE-3-MF) with and without "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" launch option, it crashed every time. Same issue with Lutris. Serious Sam Fusion (which includes this title) works fine though, so I won't bother getting this one here up and running.
