Doesn't work with any cracked version
Doesn't work. Tried cracked version as recommended in other reports, no success. Different errors depending on cracked version, but game won't run after launcher with any of them.
Install Windows version of Steam client in Wine; in the Linux-native Steam the game won't ever start.
I couldn't get Windows Steam to function with my Nvidia card, maybe because I'm using Nouveau; but I managed to get it working in Small Mode on my AMD iGPU. | When changing game resolution to anything else than native, mouse movements don''t line up with the interface (I had to turn down resolution, because iGPU). Gamepad works just fine though. | I tried a CEG DRM workaround (copy over binaries from Windows library to Linux library; Valve approved), but it didn't work, so that's probably not the culprit.
Window opens and closes immedietly
When you press "Play" on steam a small window menu of Sniper Elite V2 open where you can choose "Start" or "Support" but when you want to start, a black window opens and closes immedietly.
The game doesn't work
Due to the anti-cheat the game does not open on linux. If you want to play, unfortunately you have to use a crack to bypass the anti-cheat.

Used PLAZA No-DVD .exe instead of the original as sugested by Sr. Gatonegro. Original doesn't launch.

Game does not start with native binaries, only starts up after replacing them with Plaza NoDVD. In-game is fine, but crashes when an enemy is marked via binoculars

Used PLAZA No-DVD .exe instead of the original.
After installing, you'll notice that the game crashes as soon as you click "Play" on the launcher. I'm assuming it's some form of DRM that's causing that, because after replacing the original SniperEliteV2.exe with the No-DVD 1.13 executable from PLAZA it all worked great with the latest Proton, no launcher arguments of any sort required.
Seems to be hardly enjoyable, but might be sufficiently playable for those patient and determined. Might be worth tinkering more with.
Occasional lag, like a ≥1-second screen freeze (in both single-player Prolog and a co-op play).
I have run it two times. The 1st run crashed on Prolog ending screen/menu (still got the progress achievement and stats, though). The 2nd run froze on one of my shots (maybe it was a killcam, going to start, causing this) in 2-player multiplayer (I joined a friend's game through steam).
While installing and running, a window called "Steam Client Service" appeared and told me that a Steam executable could not be found.
Both out-of-the-box and forced Proton Experimental.

Some specific in-game actions resulted in consistent crashes, but none of them were integral to my progress through the single player campaign.
DRM issue means a no-dvd style crack is needed to play the game, a file like "SEv2.v1.14" worked for me
DRM, requires crack
I paid for this game, but sadly it is borked by DRM. After using the "SNIPER ELITE V2 V1.14 ALL NO-DVD" crack, it started to work perfectly fine.
Plaza crack
I did not get the sound sync issue.
Doesn't run. Can't find Plaza's launcher
Installed fine. Tried to find Plaza's launcher mentioned by others. Couldn't find it. Did find another trainer v.1.13 (sev2v1135tr.zip). Tried that in the place of the default launcher. But game doesn't launch. So if anyone can point to the correct launcher, for mine and others' benefit, that would be great. (Bit of a shame that we have to use a game crack to launch a legally bought game though...)
