Works OOTB

Played through entire game, absolutely no issues
Install and press play, perfect experience.
It's currently the only game that Bulkhead(i) has made that is worth buying if you like Portal franchise it's inspired from.
TDP: 7W, Refresh Rate/Frame Limit: 45hz/45FPS
Go to Display settings in-game and go from Fullscreen to Windowed Mode, this may be easier to do from Desktop Mode so I suggest doing it from there in SteamOS & you can change back to Fullscreen if you wish & this issue will never happen again.
(The last time I ran this game was in 2018 in 4K, so I don't think this will happen to all users my previous 3840x2160 cloud save likely caused this problem)
Sidenote: DX12 does not work, do not waste your time on it just use DX11.
I actually ran the game with Proton 8.0-2 from Valve, but if I wrote that it would say "Custom Proton" so I opted to use Proton Experimental for the report instead.
There were older posts that said Chapter 4 does not work, everything works in this game with Proton 8.0-2 so I reccomend setting this manually.
Windowing issues when launched in DX12 mode
Switching to another window and then returning back to the game's window decreases FPS by 40%
Works in DX11 mode with GE-Proton7
Set "t.maxfps 150" from in-game console to override the stock 60fps limit.
The game worked fine out of the box, but I'm used to 144Hz, so the stock frame limit felt laggy for me. Press the ~ key in game to open the console and then enter "t.maxfps 150" to increase the limit. Steam overlay FPS counter will show the framerate gradually incease to your new limit. You can set whatever value you want for this, but it seemed to work best if I set a value slightly higher than the monitor refresh rate. This setting only seemed to work properly if I did it from the main menu screen immediately after launching the game, prior to loading a level. Has to be set manually every time you launch the game.
Does not start at all with Proton 5.13 or 7.0. Starting the game crashes the entire Steam app.
I needed to change my Proton version to play chapter 4, but I had no issues in the game otherwise
Direct X12 does not work. And I heard that this is also problematic on Windows. The only issue is after Chapter 4 the game will not load with latest Proton. So downgrade is needed.
You will run into issues loading chapter 4
lowered sensitivity
loading screen error
Could not launch chapter 4 without switching to windows. Tried switching to 5-10 as others reccommended but when i did that the unreal 4 launcher kept crashing
Played until Chapter 4 using Proton 7. Frequently crashes with a 'Fatal error' dialog when loading levels from Chapter 4 on. Switching to Proton 5.13 works around the crashes.
I also wasn't able to play past Sector 31 (start of Chapter 4) using Proton 6.3-8 or 7.0-1. But everything seems fine after switching to Proton 5.13-6.

Impossible to get past chapter 4. Even when switching to an old Proton version I was unable to load in.
Chapter 4 crashes and refuses to load.
Game has no window mode.
Played with Proton 5.13-6.
Proton 6.3-8 and Proton 7.0-1 make fail during loading sector 31 (start of chapter 4).
Out of the box you cannot progress past chapter 3
Game breaking crash when loading chapter 4
Game runs fine but crashes on Chapter 4 Sector 31 loading screen
Game runs fine but crashes on Chapter 4 Sector 31 loading screen
Runs perfectly. Problem with one level.
As others have said, chapter 4 does not work. Nothing the others said helped. I switched to Windows for that one level. All the other levels work.

6.16-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Game crashes when loading sector 31 (chapter 4) around the 70% mark.
Running this level in Proton 5.0-10 fixed the problem.
Launch options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Radeon 7850 GPU. Vulkan enabled.
This helped with the Fatal Error bug
At Chapter 4 sector 31, I had the Fatal Error bug (Loading screen appears. at about 55% I have a Wine popup , with Title "1" and message "Fatal Error" + OK button. Clicking the button shuts the game).
Workarounds:
- Remove the folder "VenusPrototype" (Do a backup before) (/home/USER/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/499520/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/VenusPrototype/)
- Change the graphic card and/or the graphical options
- Run these 2 UE4 EXE in "/home/USER/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/The Turing Test/Redist/",Then run the vcredist_x86 EXE in "/home/USER/.wine/drive_c/ProgramData/Package Cache/BFB74E498C44D3A103CA3AA2831763FB417134D1" (run with wine)
- Tweak the Launch Options: PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Fatal Error, at Chapter 4 sector 31, for my Intel card

Unplayable due to input lag
Inputs had a lag of approximately half a second
Just ignore the failing install in the beginning. works fine in DX12
DX11 version works
Main menu selection sometimes only works with mouse, keyboard only refreshes the menu
DX12 version was borked for me, DX11 worked fine
Needs to cancel UE installation on every launch
FPS stable at 62 (Max) on Ultra@1440p

Well, game is awesome, an works in the same way on Linux. This was the best gaming experiance on linux, that I ever met.
Once when I enter into magnet all music stopped to work, but they come back, after restart

Works perfect, just ignore initial UE dialogue
Every time I launch the game, a dialogue appears which asks to install the Unreal Engine. Simply click the "cancel" button and the game will boot fine. Other than this very minor but annoying issue, the game runs perfect out-of-the-box.

Every time you launch the game, it will try to install some Unreal Engine related stuff. Just close the installation window and the game will launch fine.
Proton-5.21-GE-1
Slight lag, despite Steam overlay showing steady ~60fps
Game crashes when trying to load 3rd chapter with "fatal error" message

Worked great except one small nuisance
As others have mentioned, each time the game is launched it tries to install the Unreal Engine prerequisites. Every time the installation fails, which doesn't have any negative effect on game play. This is a minor nuisance on game launch, only.
Runs pretty much perfect.
It just fails to install UE prerequisites so asked every time I ran the game. Didn't notice any effect of it though.
Played to completion. No issues - ran out of the box
Game runs perfectly!
Played with an XBox One S Controller.
Runs great
No tweaking required.
