To play further you'll probably adjust the controls a bit more, but it is completely compatible with the Steam Deck
Adjusted the sensitivity of the the Click action of the right trackpad.
This is the first ever game I'm trying on Steam on Linux and I'm impressed. Buy, download, install (with Proton Experimental) and it just works.

Cant get past game menu, asks for "Commandos CD"
I wish there was a cd crack for my game that i bought...

The game minimizes whenever loading; tabbing back in works however. Running windowed is advised if achievable.
Game started minimized, and minimizes again whenever loading finished
cinematic playback isn't working
If de_DE is set as system locale, the game will refuse to start and urge you to play the German (censored) version of the game on your computer - change the locale to e.g. en_US or de_AT for a fix! Cutscenes from $gamedir/VIDEO won't play: the video stream of the avi containers is encoded using "Cinepak". MP tested running $gamedir/tcpserver.exe and connecting ingame over a VPN.
OOTB No issues
played at 720 (16:9)
problem with vanilla Proton when setting resolution to highest. Using GE-5.21-1 no issues
Proton-5.21-GE-1
Screen flickers a bit then goes in to the game. Could be because more than 1 monitor is used on my PC
Auto minimizes sometimes

got the ingame movies working but I couldn't get the movie audio working in game. Not a huge deal since you can just watch the AVI files in the game's data folder and they aren't particularly long.
The game requires Proton 3.x to start. 4.x and 5.x won't work.
The game crashes before showing the menu

Works out of the box.
You will need Proton 3.16-9 to run this. Newer versions make the game crash on startup. No tweaks needed, no bugs, runs perfectly.
The window did not expand above my menu & dock. Everything else seemed fine.

Regression: Game crashes on 4.2-4, works fine on 3.16-4

Runs flawlessly

Full Game, All works fine

Works perfectly out of the box

The first mission works.

Legacy Version seems OK too. Multiplayer not tested.

Works great!

Doesn't start with de_DE-locale (anti-featue of the game itself, probably due to nazi-symbolism), runs fine with de_AT and probably any other locale.
