Newer proton versions break keyboard input

When running on Proton >=7, keyboard inputs are not detected by the game

On the latest versions of Proton (I first used GE-9.2), the game starts and you can navigate the menu, but when you try to start any match or connect to the server, the game immediately closes. The only version of Proton with which this problem completely disappeared is the standard Proton 4.11-13. After I selected it, it became possible to play without any problems. I don't have any problems with full-screen mode or stutters or anti-aliasing, like some others have.

Didn't recognize the AMD Driver with the default Steam config

While the game had occasional stability issues, it played out of the box and was overall a good experience.
The game would occassionally freeze up for around 20 seconds. The game each time would eventually unfreeze.

Audio was not working and i had this problem as described in the log files:
mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory
Failed to create permanent mapping for memfd region with ID = 3435475531
Switching from the default Pulseaudio to Pipewire fixed the issue.
On a mode map that has a big open space with many troops i experienced FPS drops while at unit select and said space.
I am adding this report because of the sound issue. Also i couldn't see any online servers. Multiplayer and other kind of patches at swbfgamers, steam guides and gamefront (etc.) can enchanche the gameplay experince drastically for such an old game.

Perfect!
No issues.
Played on a private online lobby with friends. Worked flawlessly even when hosting from the deck.
Game will only start with Proton 4.11-13 and crashes when trying to select a level.
Runs completely perfect (even online multiplayer)
Works good (no window mode)
No window mode
Played with Proton 6.3-8
Personally i had no problem with offline or online play.
For me Proton 4.11-13 is required, i could not launch the game with other versions i tried.
Runs flawlessly out of the box
Runs perfectly fine. Installs properly, gaming runs buttery smooth, online works without hiccups, audio plays without issue. All good.
Runs great, nothing to add

Steam said that the game was running but then it says play instead of strating
Game used to work but sadly it doesn't work now.

Launch Battlefront.EXE with wine program loader to get a good performance because when I tried launching from steam the game launched breifly but no game showed up.
When I get to the main menu the pointer appears but when I move my mouse the pointer doesn't move had to use a controller.
The game can be launched by following these launch instructions
Game works but multiplayer is unstable
Runs fine. No problems.

With Proton 4.11-13, the game starts, loads quickly, and then plays well.
Sometimes after a round is over, the command post alerts would play sequentially, rather than during the gameplay.
Previous positive post did not include Proton version, and can be removed.

Does not run with Proton 4.2-9
Using Proton 4.2-9, an error prompt stating "Steam must be running to play OR you don't own this game" appeared.

Works well.
Played with Proton 4.11-13, don't work with Proton 5.0-7
So this game is playable but Multiplayer was just updated on May 1st 2020. Users should read.
System froze while using Proton-5.4-GE-3 On Steam Proton 5.0-7 it was working. Multiplayer is kind of mixedbag
Multiplayer at times gets wonky and occasionally I will see a screen flash of background still image
So Multiplayer will launch but it can get a bit wonky, My system actually froze during a load screen and had reboot. You may seem at random times a still image of a loading screen but other than that its 60fps pretty good.
Ran great, no major issues
Worked perfectly with Proton 4.11-12, did not launch with Proton 5.0-2.

Launch option "PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command% /win" having it in windowed mode improves the performance and reduces freezes or completely eliminates them (in my case, that's pretty much the last one)

Ran great. Keep in mind that the main menu is always lower resolution, even after you change it. That's just part of the original game. The actual gameplay does go all the way to 1440p

No issues

Gameplay appears to be flawless. The only bone of contention is the load times; on an SSD, on Windows a given map is fully loaded near-instantly, whereas through Proton it takes a good seven or eight seconds longer.

Works perfectly, crashes sometimes but thats the same as windows

Game works fine out of the box on Proton. I installed manually D9VK but with this the game didn't start.

It launches and plays but there are micro-freezes and some freezes throughout the game. Didn't try any tweaks yet

The game is running perfect with no issues!

Works well, crashed once or twice- if it hadn't I would give this a platinum rating. Online functionality is supported (and there are still players online). Required no additional tweaking.
