Enabled log which reported:
err:module:import_dll Library VCRUNTIME140_1.dll (which is needed by L"Z:\home\user\.steam\steam\steamapps\common\Between Two Castles - Digital Edition\BetweenTwoCastles\Binaries\Win64\BetweenTwoCastles-Win64-Shipping.exe") not found
Then went to
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1158500/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32
and linked the normal version of the DLL to _1.dll:
