Ran fine
Ran fine with no crashes, had one instance of stuttering late game but restarting the game fixed it

I don't really know if it really is a linux thing since I played the game from start to end on linux, but most of the time the voice sound level of the npc encounters (not the calls) was really high compared to everything else, though they were some exceptions this was a recurring and annoying problem through the experience.
used the vkBasalt sharpening filter since I noticed the max level of antialias blurries the image a little

Runs without any tinkering
Works out of the box, just download and play!
Runs great out of the box.
Works perfectly fine
Completato l'intero gioco in versione nativa senza problemi

Initially I did not have any audio with the latest Proton version. I had to switch to Proton 6 in order to make it work. Now I only experience negligible amounts of stuttering and audio crackling every once in a while. Runs 99% smooth and does not diminish the experience.
Worked right out of the box.

Game runs well out of the box, however after switching to proton 7.0.6 game requires less power which is very good.

Plays near-perfectly. Proton 7.0-6 recommended for considerable energy savings with no tradeoffs (that I noticed).
Disable in-game "Steam Controller" support. When combined with a standard Gamepad control layout, this makes the controls work similarly to the console versions and frees up the Deck's back buttons.
The Deck can run this game comfortably at Very High graphics settings and 60 FPS, but will draw way more power when using Proton 9 or 8 compared to Proton 7, with no increase in performance or any other benefits I noticed in about 2 hours of playtime. Basically with the more recent Proton versions, the CPU will eat up any spare cycles the GPU isn't using, so you'll pretty much always be maxing out the battery regardless of settings.
Inventory item descriptions are a litte small
I occasionally saw reflections in glass that had mild flicker or otherwise looked a little off. Not sure if that was the game or the Deck, but they were barely noticeable regardless.

If only every game would run like this
Performance seems to be better on windows by quite some fps and the overall experience is just smooth as hell.

Lovely
When first starting the game it takes about half a minute just for the main window to appear and a weird clipping sound can be as (i assume) the game is installing some more libraries but then everything is ok

Changed crouching buttons
Works perfectly once installed, but the controls are unusual (i.e. having to use the back buttons). Does not support one keybind for multiple options

Amazing game on Deck (and in general) and works pretty well OOTB. Just force Proton 7 so the game doesn't run super hot.
Default layout is weird because it was tailored for the Steam Controller. Would recommend switching to one of the other official layouts instead such as the Dualshock or Xbox ones.
Game pulls a lot of power when using Proton 8, switching to Proton 7 fixed this and the game pulls a more appropriate amount of power. I also locked the game to 40fps/40hz and lowered the graphics settings a bit.
Game "crashed" once (an error window popped up but I was able to keep playing the game).

Was funny
I really enjoyed it.
Works perfectly as is installed from Steam, no modifcations nessesary

Until I changed proton compatibility type, some audio sounded lower quality. Some audio bites fail to play, such as glass noises or reload sounds if cut off by a different animation.
Some areas seem to drop frames after long play time, could've have been just a single area. Most of my experiences have been perfect.
Without tinkering, would run fine. Potentially just audio issues and minor frame dips.

Sometimes my weapon model would become invisible. Reloading a save didn't fix it, had to restart the game. Tried verifying files. Didn't stop it from reoccuring.
Whenever the invisible models issue happened if I try to go into a different area the game would lock up. Had to force close the game using steam or alt+f4
Game ran very well. Other than the missing models issue which a quick restart would fix. I had no other issues. Locked framerate to 120 fps using dxvk launch parameter and was staying at 120 most of the time, never saw dips below 100 fps.

alt tabbing back into fullscreen black screens the game, windowed fullscreen works fine.

Some text in the inventory is pretty small
I'd reccomend turning the graphics down for a better framerate & battery. Also at least for me the default control scheme is kinda weird, but it supports the deck controls really well if you want to rebind them.

Issues going fullscreen, XFCE4 taskbar shown until Alt-Tabbed out and back into the game
On Arch Linux, be sure to install Vulkan drivers for your platform. If you receive an error reading "Could not read memory" with something like '0x00000000010', then either your vulkan installation isn't working or you don't have it installed.

Cursor wouldn't appear in menus, and button prompts were messed up
After fixing the cursor, works perfectly
Voices would be constantly loud in the mix.

Runs right out of the box
Very enjoyable performance and an overally enjoyable experience

Pretty much runs out of the box
I personally had no issues playing the game, I didn't have to tinker or anything, run with the current proton version

Runs great out of the box!
Note: Only experienced these once or twice and both happened at the same time (if I recall correctly):
- Player would glitch and weapon wouldn't be visible.
- Player's body would go in front of camera when crouch.

I downloaded Epic games through lutris and then downloaded the prey, and it worked perfectly

This is not a Linux problem, but the game has awful audio. Having issues with mixing it properly; you can hear characters talking as if they were in your head, not in the environment regardless of the distance to them.
Strange visual artifacts on light reflections.

Ocassionally the game textures would degrade to a low muddy resolution, usually after playing for an hour or more. Exiting and relaunching always fixed it. The vast majority of the time though, textures were fine.
If I leave the game idle and my lockscreen/screensaver activates, the game will be frozen when I return. This happenes with most 3D games though and may be an issue with my system.
Ocassionally some game assets would disappear (particularly the player weapon models) and character dialog would not play. This coincided with texture degradation, usually after playing for an hour or more. Exiting and relaunching the game always fixed it.
Overall Prey 2017 is very playable! I completed as close to 100% of the base game as I could (a few story choices aside) without any major showstoppers.
When using the Proton 8.0.2 version, an increased CPU frequency is observed, as a result of which the temperature of the GPU and the GPU is constantly kept at about 78 - 85 degrees. With any settings for graphics and framerate. Constant increased noise of the cooler. If you switch to the proton version 7 the problem disappears.

Played > 40 hours, 1440p@60fps
runs perfectly, not a single issue in 40 hours
Work great, no problems

Really want to play this game. But i've tried all different versions of Proton. Even downloaded and installed GE.
Tried every fix that was listed here and on other sites.
