Custom Music does not load
Works just as well as native
works out of the box
Works perfectly in single player

Flawless flat and VR experience
Seems to work on both latest SteamVR as well as SteamVR 1.14 + Proton 5.13. Testing was not comprehensive, but everything appears to work as expected.
Aucun problème, le jeu marche parfaitement.

Some text is a bit small
Works great for single player out of the box. I did not try multiplayer.

PROTON_NO_GLSL=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
The game runs flawlessly after applying the parameter "PROTON_NO_GLSL=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%" (without quotes). If you run the game without it, the performance gets worse and worse each race - this doesn't happen after the tweak, so you can enjoy long sessions without any performance issues after using the command mentioned.

I couldn't test much, because I'm not fan of this game, I played only around 20 minutes. Anyway, everything was working well, no issues at all, Xbox X gamepad works well out of the box.
Moved power ups to LB and LT with brake and accelerate on RB and RT. Made it much more comfortable using steam deck
Throughout the 3 years I have owned this game, no issues ever
Note that the default Proton selection, which I'm using, is Proton 6.3-8, not the newest one. I have not observed any problems with it so far.
Stuck in the intro logo
Works right out the box
Also VR works great Used Steam index and no problems
Crashes after splash screen.
perfect native like experience, even online
Found no issues. Very stable performance

Game crashes after the intronscreen has run. The intro is also quite laggy.
Proton 6.3-8
Just a restart fixed my issues. The rest is plug&play
Fullscreen after restart.

Anda perfecto.
Para poner en lenguaje ESPAÑOL utilizar este comando en los parametros de lanzamiento "-culture="es_ES" sin las comillas
Startup intro FMV may render as a black screen with stuttering audio. Other in-menu FMVs also do not play back, but are not important to gameplay.
If using multiple monitors, the game cannot actively select the primary monitor. This is a common problem on a number of games, though.
These bugs are hardly exclusive to GRIP. FMV issues are common across many Windows games choosing to use proprietary codecs for FMVs, which can't be distributed in Proton for now. Use of Proton-GE or Experimental may yield results in the future.

Crashes after logos
Proton 6.3-7
Asthe online multiplayer is an essential part, I vote it down. But local play and couch play works fine.
On changinf screen resolution, game hangs.
Maybe my online play issue was caused by 4K resolution, but as I was unable to change that, multiplayer was not playable.
Low framerate
It ran great out of the box
Game runs fine out of the box.
Most issues you will experience should be from the games coding.
Sometimes it does not recognize my mouse. Alt+tabbing in and out resolves this issue.
These crashes are likely due to grip and not the fact its being run with a compatability layer. Simply letting the game sit will have it crash.
The game runs fine.
My hardware is a 4 years old laptop, so I have had to lower some graphical settings, but after that the game runs just fine.

Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST
Same as recent reports from other users, slows to a few frames per second after the first race.
After one race I get significat frame drops (from 60-70 to 5-7). Also if I go to the garage and every second car drops FPS as well. I.e. if I switch to an another car it becomes normal >> next car [frame drop] >> next car [ok] >> etc
The frame drops I mentioned above makes game unplayable.

Install and play
Ultrawide supported, Logitech F710 gamepad works perfectly
Experience is almost exactly like Windows. I haven't had any issues.
Works great!

Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST GloriousEggroll
https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases
Used GloriousEggroll's custom proton version:Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST. Game detected previous savegame from windows automatically when launching campaign. Also used Logitech F310 with no issues.
I did not find a big difference between playing on windows or on linux, if you enjoy combat racing and speed you will enjoy grip
Runs beautifully under 5.0-8. Xbox One controller worked out of the box.
Custom music won't play, otherwise perfectly fine. Trying to use custom music also prevents the game from fully closing when shut down, had to kill it with the system monitor.
