It is very hard to start the game up in VR mode. I have to load Steam VR. It does not goto the home screen. If I launch a game in Steam VR quick menu it does not load. I have to load the game using the steam desktop app.

Sometimes with the Valve Index you can get in a state where you can't start the game from Steam Home. In that case games fail to start up and don't tell you they crashed.
VR works well with this game if your headset works with Steam OS/Linux. Valve Index works, but not PSVR2 yet.
Last year VR was not working for me with the Valve Index.
None of the videos play which is the main feature of this application.

I won the single player campaign. 1080P and 2K resolution works good. The game was more stable then playing in windows 2 years ago. I tried to play coop but did not find any games. My only complaint is that Wine has issues if you alt tab out of the game and come back in that the screen is black and you have to restart but Windows has the same issues at times. The game works at 4K but I keep my screen resolution at 2K. Wine/Linux for some reason will not let me game at a higher resolution than my desktop resolution.
When it came up it was stuck at a black screen. I could not alt tab out or get access to xkill so I had to reboot my computer.

I played through the entire single player campaign at 1080P with medium to high settings. I tried to do the Coop game mode (Extinction) and it crashed. The performance was OK, but I am sure It could be at least 30% better than it was. It had some frame rate dips. It also crashed a few times. I was able to start the game in safe mode if I needed to. The game performance has been improving with every major version of Proton (4.2 is the best!) I also turned off some shader options that speed up loading up a level.
I started the game and it just said "Running" and eventually the message went away. I tried all of the tweaks. Modern Warfare 3 also does not work.

I have to use this command or else the screen stays black. -force-d3d9 -dxlevel 90 -DX9 -nocrashdialog -noipx . Hopefully D9VK will allow the game to run faster without these commands.
Game runs great at 1080P, 2K, and 4K for the single player campaign. Performance is better now than when Proton was first introduced! I did lose a save game with the first version of Proton but I will see if I can complete the entire game this time.
Game runs well and works decently with a gamepad and autosave.
The keyboard would not work when saving your game (like renaming it.) I also had issues crouching (2 minutes into the gameplay when you have to crouch) The controller works but it should really have button prompts added in a patch for Playstation and XBOX prompts.
I could not rename the save game. Since the game autosaves it is not a big deal.
It installed origin and signed me in. Afterwards it keeps crashing while showing me the list of games.

The game runs great! I tried the game at 1080P, 2K, and 4K resolutions and they are work great! One thing I noticed is that the resolution of the desktop changes the max resolution used in Doom. I would really like to have my desktop at 1080P or 2K and to be able to run Doom at 4K. It works great with XBox controllers as well. I did notice while playing a game if I later plug in a controller I need to restart the game for the controller to work. I wish more games used the Vulkan api for better cross platform gaming! I have used Doom with Proton 3.7.4, and 3.16.4 versions and it has never broke for me. I have been playing Doom since Steam Play has been announced!

Select "3Dfx Glide - Voodoo Graphics Family" when starting the app up - this will get the game to be playable but it has issues playing movies. DirectX runs but with visual issues that make the game unplayable (Most of the textures are black!) OpenGL Crashes.

The game runs great now - It used to crash on launch even with Proton 4.2-2!! There is minor graphics issues after a while but nothing too big (some parts of the screen are black or have flickering light - the game is very playable.) Note: Sometimes with steam I have to switch Proton versions or else it is stuck on a preparing to launch app dialog box - sounds like they are trying to fix this but it still happens for me.

With the new Proton Experimental you can link your Steam account and it brings up the new launcher! I don't see a button to start the game!
The new launcher was released during Shadowbrings and is what the Playstation 4 is currently using. You can use the old launcher and it will work now.

It is very hard to start this game. I have to launch it through the regular steam client that is not in VR. The game may or may not start with the Valve Index.

This game runs now - it used to crash! I see white everywhere (and does not look the same as the windows version) so there is graphics glitches. The game plays great though! Once you go underground the texture issues disappear - they look to be snow related.

The screen is cut into parts for resolutions higher than 1080P. 1440P and 4K are broken. The Windows game seems to be capped at 1080P.
I got the "Assertion failed!" message. I hit ignore three times and it came up with a black screen. After a while I heard music and hitting enter caused a sound effect to happen. (I am moving around the main menu but not seeing anything!)

Only the Steam Controller controller works - and acts like mouse and keyboard. I can't get Playstation 4/5, XBox 360, or XBox one controllers to work. EA games usually need Steam Input Enabled (sometimes disabled) + Gamepad controller config + Big Picture mode for controllers to work.
EA Origin games have a lot of controller issues with Proton and I can only use the Steam Controller with this game easily.

When quitting the game it hang and had a stuttered noise.
The game started and was able to play the first level just fine. It was slow at first but Disable Esync (PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%) to gain a massive performance increase. I was able to play at 1080P, 2K, and 4K with no slowdown after this. This game was broken in earlier versions of Proton so this is a nice improvement!

Switch the game version back to Proton 4.2.9 and this will run perfectly (I won the game with this version.) This game will NOT run for me with Proton 4.11-2 or 4.11-1. The game says running and then crashes and does not launch the game! It never gets out of the steam client. The issue is that ALL games that are not whitelisted by steam are broken and used to work with Proton 4.2.9! Nier Automata, DOOM, and Tekken 7 are working with similar performance. Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Crysis 2, Grim Dawn, Middle-earth Shadow of War, Serious Sam HD, and most of my games are NOT working and used to work with Proton 4.2.9! Disable FSync did not get a previous game to work. Crysis used to work (with command line changes) and I tried the new D9vk solution and it does not work also.
I use "Wine D3d11" to improve performance! I played through a bit of the first area. This game used to have major graphics issues that made it unplayable when it first came out - Now it is running fine! This is a massive improvement!
The game is running great now with no performance tweaks! I used to have to use tweaks to get this game to work with good performance. The performance is much better than 4.2-1! Right now I am having a issue where most of my Proton 4.11.2 games are not working (even ones that worked with the original version of proton!) so I will test it with a later version of 4.11.X later.

The game starts out with a small window of 640x480 resolution. Setting your desktop resolution to 800 x 600 or 1024x768 before launching the game is the easiest way to handle this. Using Set Launch Options to change the resolution would help but -fullscreen, -w, or -h did not work!
The cut scenes are missing. Also there is some graphics glitches (Small boxes around the main player and the bottom 1/10 of the screen is displaying many pixels of boxes.) There is also some slowdown. Besides that the game runs ok.

Sniper Elite 3 finally runs on Linux! I have had a lot of issues running this game before! The first level had great performance.
The game came up with a black screen. Pushing escape a few times did not get past it.

When you click XBox 360 controller in the settings you get great controls after that!
You need to turn on the XBOX 360 support to get decent controller support.

The game runs fine. With Proton 4.2.3 it crashes so make sure to select the older Proton version.

If you alt tab it is in a very small window that is not full screen and takes up 1/5 the size of the screen.

The game is running good with no problems. The store also works! This runs better then World of Warcraft with Linux because wow has issues with stutters and slowdowns at times. (Blizzard had issues with android and linux network traffic not working after the ddoss attack last week but they fixed the issue and classic and retail now work!)

The game started up, but the game was only in the upper right hand corner of my screen taking up 1/6 of my screen.

Alt-Tab while playing the game caused issues when trying to return back to the game and required a restart.

"Play Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide" failed to start, hanged 5 minutes then manually closed it. "Run without Launcher" works well.
"Run without Launcher" works well but is not officially supported. 80% of users will pick the first option and think this game is broken. Most new users will be very angry with this.
Can run at 1080P, 2K, and 4K just fine without any graphic issues. This runs perfectly out of the box with no changes.

The PlayStation 4 and 5 controller has a lot of Bluetooth issues but it happens in all games. PlayStation 5 controller gives you PlayStation Buttons but PlayStation 4 does not!?
I also ran this on another computer with NVidia graphics and it ran fantastic also with 60 FPS 1080P!
Both the original and enhanced edition failed to load! Enhanced was very hard to quit without rebooting the OS.
It got stuck on the main menu and I could not click anything.
The game started up but the window was too small to play it.
I do have my 4K resolution setup up but it should adjust to fit the window.
