LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Sometimes the background music in-game is missing
After 40-60min significant stuggering, unplayable, even I got 120fps+ before
Frequent crashes in the skills menu, due to preview videos
two/three things to do before the game runs flawlessly:
LD_PRELOAD="" in launch options (& maybe: disable steam input & steam overlays --> )--> avoids lagging after 40-60min, not sure which of these fixes helped
delete/rename skill preview videos in: [path to steam]/steamapps/common/Necromunda Hired Gun/Necromunda/Content/Movies/CyberMovies

On this PC configuration with the preset settings "amazing" in 1920x1080, the game works fine, I did not find any frame losses. DLSS and FSR are working.
Works perfectly out of the box

I was constantly getting Unreal Engine 4 crash errors, and freezing within the games intro.
It's borked and I tried GE 8-14, 8-25 and normal proton versions 8.0-4 and experimental.
Works flawlessly

I was getting a consistent crash about 5 minutes into the tutorial level, right where you have to stealth kill someone, I tried different proton versions and all sorts of tweaks to fix it, but, funnily enough, re-enabling DX12 stopped all the crashes.
I intially disabled DX12 before even starting because I heard it caused issues, but disabling it caused way more issues than having it enabled did. it's on by default so technically the game would have run perfectly were it not due to me messing with settings.
It just worked for me without tinkering. Getting a solid 144 FPS locked, no slow downs or bugs. Perfect!
Low framerate during final mission due to effects - Setting effects to low resolved issue. Performance otherwise excellent
Game would hard-lock when in upgrades menu too long. Issue successfully resolved by moving movies in CyberMovies folder elsewhere.
Overall, works well once fixes are applied for the menu bug. Few graphical issue not known to also affect Windows systems.

huge frame drops when playing / loading into new areas
Crashes frequently and hangs the whole system in the process
After 2-3x of causing a full system lock, I was done with this game.
The game runs only on lowest settings. On lowest settings the game runs 100fps, but it might drop to 15 fps which isn't fixed until other area is loaded or the game restarted.
Game crashes often. Especially Doc's augmentation menu.
TLDR: Overall the game's fun, but I can't handle when the game crashes 3 times in 10 minutes.
The game plays really well, BUT between missions my game would often crash when accessing an NPC shop, most often happened with the Rogue Doc shop.
Had to fight Chapter 5 Boss, 3 times, because he kept glitching through the floor into the void. Took me a while to figure it out too, thought he was just disappearing or getting stuck inside a wall.
Different proton versions, using winetricks - nothing works, game won't start
Found no issues after 4 missions
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Game runs smoothly.
Audio in the intro was cracking
If you stay long in the Doc's menu (implants), the game freezes.
Works perfectly fine
Insta crashed when implant upgrades were opened.
DX11 runs better than DX12 at this time. Other than upgrade menu issues, 100% playable. Great framerates, all epic settings.

both DX11 and DX12 work fine. no problem about rogue doc movies.

both DX11 and DX12 work fine
Game crashes when using the Implant upgrade menu for longer than 20 seconds.
Game does work, except for the implant upgrade store, frequent crashes when using it longer than 20 second.
Does work, if I apply upgrades one-by-one (Purchasing one, leaving store, game quicksaves - purchasing next upgrade, and so on...)

Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
-dx11 flag necessary
Small perf issues with unstable framerates in certain places
Sometimes crashes when playing videos when upgrading bionics
Runs right out of the box. Frames might go a bit fluctuate sometimes, but nothing bad.
Unstable frames
The resolution might be greyed out (also issue on Windows). This seems to be only the case if you are not in windowed mode. Switch to windowed mode, change your resolution and switch back to the mode you prefer.
Runs well. But is needed to use the arg "-dx11" to star the game. With DX12 the game cannot start. Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1

Froze/Crash at loading screen
Used Proton-GE and Proton Experimental, made no difference. Same crash also happened on Windows though, so ended up refunding

Finished the entire game and it runs fine!
Sometimes I was seeing some odd graphical effects with very bight lights on monsters and npcs?
Proton 6.14-GE-2 and set -dx11
Cyber Movies as other reports

Proton-6.12-GE-1
CyberMovies as stated in other reports hang the game.
Proton-6.9-GE-2
Audio did not always sync up to what was happening in game
Looks much worse than the native windows version, even at the same settings. I hope it improves.
A Lot of stuttering and slowdown when playing, unable to maintain a constant frame rate.
Mainly to do with the audio not corresponding with what was happening on screen.

6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.10-GE-1
Move the contents of steamapps/common/Necromunda Hired Gun/Necromunda/Content/Movies/CyberMovies/
out of that folder (I simply duplicated the folder and removed them from the original one), otherwise the Doctor will completely hang the game after 5-30secs of seeing his menu.

6.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
6.1-GE-2
DX12 causes some glitches
Crashes in the first menu with the doc
With 6.1-GE-2 the movies all play and it runs pretty well. There are still performance issues, but these may happen on windows too.
Occasional freeze / crash, mostly in menus - but very, very playable.
Other versions of proton had issues. GloriousEggRoll 6.10 and 6.9 both had problems as did the stock valve proton.

Some jittering when things load in, especially in new areas, nothing game breaking though.
reproducible crash when going to the rogue doctor after the first mission, seems like the videos showcasing augmetics are the culprit. I "fixed it" by simply moving the videos in /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Necromunda Hired Gun/Necromunda/Content/Movies/CyberMovies/ in a different folder. You won't see the videos ingame but no more crashes.
You have to use proton 6.9-GE 2 for it to run properly. With the exception of the video in menus crashing the game everything works properly.

Used Proton-6.9-GE-2 to install UE4 prereqs properly and launch game. Not fully playable beyond intro level due to shop menu freeze.
Game freezes in when viewing shop menu.

Proton-6.9-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
The game started, tried to install UE4 which reported failure. However, launching again resulted in being able to play.
There is an issue with looking at bionic upgrades in the Rogue Doc. This can be fixed by entering your local files, $YOURINSTALLLOCATION/Necromunda\ Hired\ Gun/Necromunda/Content/Movies/CyberMovies
and renaming all mp4s *.old
. You can also do this with the intro movies. Then you should be able to browse the bionics (although without preview videos).

Games works completely fine for me I'm averaging 60-100fps depending on the scene.
Some jittering when things load in, especially in new areas, nothing game breaking though.

I "fixed it" by simply moving the videos in /SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Necromunda Hired Gun/Necromunda/Content/Movies/CyberMovies/ in a different folder. doesnt work :(
tried latest glorious eggroll proton release & proton experimental, tried finding all required dependencies and installing them but was unsuccessful as to me the use of winetricks to acheive this is complex.
shops menu (at least for implants) freeze endlessly at random point. Maybe the videos
Used proton-GE, following this post (https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/npqih8/necromunda_hired_gun_mostly_running_on_release_day/)
In the first area where the contract is accepted, and then in some of the exploration areas, there is jitteriness.
Upon talking to the chirurgeon on level two and waving the mouse around a bunch, the game will seemingly freeze up and I have to kill the process from the terminal.
Using Proton-6.9-GE-2, the game installed, started, and played fairly well. The only places the game seems to "chug" is in the non-combat zones where there is a lot of dialog. Once combat actually starts, it seemed to go fairly well. All controls worked as expected. The only part that has continually caused issues is dealing with the chirurgeon before the second mission. I have to coninually go through each dialog to get the upgrade, then waving the mouse around too much causes it to freeze.
