gamemoderun %command%

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Work smoothly only with parameter PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% on GE-Proton.

I was getting a blackscreen then the game crashed before switching to eggroll

Starts well (singleplay)
Played with Proton 8.0-4.
'far' render distance slows the game down noticably in the very few dense areas in the game.
game will default to 'mouse and keyboard' mode, but thankfully, there are options in the main menu to bind the controls to 'xbox 360' controls, if you would rather use the given steam deck joysticks and face buttons. L4, L5, R4, and R5 will all bind to the ABXY buttons this way. Cheers!
Everything seems fine out of the box.

Either disable TZFix's audio fix, or set CompatibilityMode=True
(tzfix.ini) for it to work.
Disable TZFix's DisablePS4HID
(d3d9.ini) option
TZFix's texture resampling has a slight, albeit noticeably extra penalty on performance. Unlike DXVK, this can't be cached for subsequent playthroughs; like it, these only happen the first time on some effects.
As a consequence of these changes, FMVs will have worse frame pacing (will appear more juddery).
Other settings to make TZFix work:
------(d3d9.ini)------
[Render.FrameRate]
WaitForVBLANK=true
[Steam.Log]
Silent=true
[SpecialK.System]
EnableCEGUI=false
Silent=true
ShowEULA=false
------(tzfix.ini)-------
[TZFIX.FrameRate]
YieldProcessor=True
MinimizeLatency=True
DisableNamcoLimiter=True
Target=120 # Framerate Targets need to be DOUBLE the desired framerate; otherwise it will be slower than usual.
BattleTarget=120
CutsceneTarget=120
[TZFix.Textures]
Remaster=True
WorkerThreads=12 # Adjust this to no. of available CPU cores
ShowLoadingIndicator=False
[ImGui.General]
HasReadLicenses=True
ShowOSDDisclaimer=False```
As a consequence of these changes, FMVs will have worse frame pacing (will appear more juddery).
Works out of the box
Stuck on applying the 30 fps patch, which seems to be hacking d3d9. I haven't tested it, but using this patch requires wined3d and drops all the goodness of dxvk. May not worth a try on laptop.
Except the framerate cap, everything work as expected.
Works better with Proton than in Windows.
I had some minor crackling when using Proton 6.35. The GE build solved the issue.
The game used to fail to load but it is now fully playable and I got through a bit of the opening of the game!
Played from start to finish perfectly!

runs flawlessly, however, i couldn't get the community 60 fps mod to work, so you will be locked at 30 fps
Doesn't need any tweaks anymore. Runs great out of the box.

Must use launch option to launch. Hopefully there is a way to tweak it and fix the audio issues as the popping is pretty annoying.
Got a directx error and was unable to start the game with any version of proton, fixed with this launch option: PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
audio popping/crackling

Crash at language menu
Proton Experimental: No launch
Proton 5.13-4: No launch
Proton 5.0-10: Language menu crash
Proton 5.21-GE-1: No launch
Proton 5.9-GE-1-MF: Language menu crash

To Play Under Linux Proton
CUSTOM : PROTON 5.9 GE-1-MF <-- Runs fine without Launch options
> MY LAUNCH OPTIONS : mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Runs close to perfectly
Half-way through the game and there have been no issues outside of being unable to alt-tab out of it.
Game Works, but Locked at 30fps and 60fps Mods Don't Work
If the audio isn't set to Stereo in the main menu's settings, the all character dialogue will be muted. (Also the case if your system's audio controller isn't set to Stereo or a similar setting, as the game itself doesn't support Surround Sound properly even on Windows.)
The game supports a local 2nd player but it didn't seem to work for whatever reason (not sure why, as I've only played the game on PS4 before).
There is a community-made 60fps mod (found in the Steam guides) but it their installer doesn't work properly in Wine and trying to install it manually causes the game to sort of hang on launch before it even renders a window.
The lack of voices really degrades the overall experience of this RPG.
After the initial cutscene when starting up a new game, all voice audio from characters are muted.
Game works perfectly out of the box
No issues at all. Runs perfectly out of the box.
It works

Work out of the box, only dualshock 4 need steam input.
Native Dualshock 4 does not map properly, use steam input.

works out of the box, only need to use steam input if using dualshock4
dualshock 4 not properly mapped, but can be fixed by using steam input.
Works out of the box
The game works now, but in the current state it's only playable with keyboard and mouse.
The game technically detects the controller, but it only works in menus. The control scheme only shows KB+M, and the character and camera ignore controller input.
works well with proton 5.0-4
Goes as far as the splash screen and shows the game's custom cursor, but only ends up with a black screen.

The game is still not playable on Proton 5.0.1
Was looking forward that this game will no longer needed to be played via a windows version of steam. But it seems I let my hopes up too early.
Same issue as last time. Black screen with cursor.

To complete previous reports, ge-protonified is deprecated. Lutris-jedi build now works.

run the game with wine steam using lutris and with the wine version ge-protonified-4.10-x86_64. My average fps is 30-35 with everything set at high. I can play it with a mouse and keyboard but using the controller just sucks

Run Windows steam/Wine Steam through Lutris with ge-protonified-4.9-x86_64 and the game works perfectly. I have ran into zero issues within the first 5 hours.

Same as old reports
