Had to set launch options because game got stuck at a black screen where intro movie should play. I was using us keyboard layout, but still had to set launch options.

Plays fine, looks great and aged well.
Do not run on the flatpak version of Steam
Flatpak causes an issue where the launcher can't find the game files on launch.
Clicking "game start" on the launcher crashes with "The application was unable to load initial data. Please check the installation path."
I've tried proton experimental, 6.3-8 and 8.0-2. I've tried verifying the game files.
Works perfectly out of the box. (I am already using a US Keyboard layout, so no tweaking required here.)
Unknown(an hour with Proton)Blackscreen FIX: run "setxkbmap us" in the terminal! Switching from Wayland back to X11 fixed mouse-issues i had. Runs smooth except for the 1-FPS bug that appears randomly BUT thats a bug from the game and not related to proton! hope this helps!
Unknown(an hour with Proton)UnknownHellgate London has some issues with the keyboard mapping! i had to set the layout within the console with: "setxkbmap us" and after that, the black screen at the beginning was gone! unfortunely does the mouse not work properly ingame. its spinning and has a huge delay. found no fix so far

Just a splash screen over the black screen.
I only played for a short time but everything seemed find ane framerate is was high, as it should be for such an old game. I didn't realize this version has no multiplayer so refunded it after testing it out.
Black screen and nothing more.
