Works great off rip with proton!

had to put -dx11 in steam properties in order for it to work with my nvidia card, otherwise would crash after initializing EAC.
-dx11
Might be due to shaders compilation and Unreal Engine 5 stuff, but overall worked great.
For most it seems to work out of the box, and after I've put the -dx11 option, it ran basically as smooth as on windows (Windows had some slight hitches for me with shader compilation as well, so...yeah, screw you UE5)

To accommodate my system performance & playablity.
Really outdated system, none the less it is playable.

I'm using AMD GPU, and the game runs better than on windows, it feels smoother more fluid than on windows.

Game runs perfectly fine even without my custom proton or launch options, tho really rarely i get kicked from session due to verification with EAC resulting in error, but it can just be my launch options messing with this, but the kick is really rare, maybe 1 out of 100 matches. But overall really recommend this on Linux! 🩷
Games plays perfectly just like on Windows if not better than on Windows

The game ran perfect with Proton 9.04 after adding -dx11 to launch options. Before that it would crash when starting a match.

Adding -dx11 in Launch options made the game work on Debian. Before that it was unstable and would crash when starting a match. The rest of the launch options were to use my Dedicated Graphics card as I have a Hybrid laptop. When using force nvidia options and dx11 make sure to put two spaces instead of one between them.

Works perfectly on Wayland, better than Windows even.
So far I have played ~100 hours on Linux, Dead By Daylight has become a flawless experience, my framerate is extremely stable, it works perfectly on Wayland, I have never faced a single kind of issue. Quite frankly, the experience is possibly even better than on Windows.

Works flawlessly with the recommended Proton version. You only need to change the version if you want the Steam overlay.
Keyboard input sometimes doesn't work after closing Steam overlay. Tabbing out and back in fixes that.

Ogólnie to działa dobrze bez żadnych większych problemów
Właściwie mam wrażenie że działa lepiej niż na windowsie 10

Works perfectly, graphics are slightly darker than the ones on Windows but it's a positive thing(for me).
When the clouds go in front of the moon/sun it will make the map darker until they pass, maybe I never noticed it on Windows but on Linux I saw it immediatly

Previously, I have experienced no major issues using Proton 9.0-4 besides the Steam overlay being broken (which unfortunately does prevent buying the in-game currency). Switching to custom GE-Proton fixed the overlay, making the game fully functional.

Needs GE-Proton to have steam overlay to work
Ran smoothly out-of-the-box without any issues. Sweet!

For best results, use GE-Proton9-25 and plasma 6 (wayland)

It works perfectly fine OOTB, no texture glitches, no hiccups. Only the frame rate is noticeably worse than on Windows.
The game engine mutes sound cues coming from an area or room when the camera is up against a wall, generator etc.
Frame rate is quite a bit worse than on Windows

El juego corre perfecto, no hace falta mover nada.
Es excelente. El juego corre perfecto, no hace falta mover nada. Igual a como corre en Windows 11.

The only issue is my skill

The game is perfectly playable. I have played for 900+ hours on Linux. But the tinkering to make it work in Wayland is heavy.
env -u LD_PRELOAD gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -w 2560 -h 1440 -f --force-grab-cursor -- env LD_PRELOAD="$LD_PRELOAD" %command%
Mouse is not captured unless Gamescope is used (under Wayland), and when ran with --backend sdl, the bounds are incorrect, leading to the mouse trailing off to another monitor.
Wayland is pretty much a no-go. It will not respond to inputs if ran outside of Gamescope, and WITH gamescope, it fails to capture the cursor, meaning that you have to disable all your other monitors for it to be properly playable.
But doing that, it's pretty much flawless.

great out of the box, smooth 60 fps
gamemoderun MANGOHUD=1 %command%

Works great! Changed FPS from 60 (default) to 120 and the game runs smoothly, it feels even smoother than when I play on Windows.

Throughout many hours of gameplay, I've concluded that Dead by Daylight runs better on Linux, than it did on Windows. Zero tinkering required, zero stutters, great responsiveness when hitting skillchecks. Hoping EAC doesn't break!

This game is very plug and play I had no issues running it on Arch just had to add the latest stable Proton support from Steam and it ran perfectly which suprised me ran better than windows itself does with this game, didn't experince any issues at all and was able to configure graphics n such just like windows.

I recommend switching the graphics to medium and turning on XESS to performance for 60 fps! If you want to save battey, lock the fps to 30.

Everything works, but...
Alt+Tab is broken, in fullscreen mode. But I have the same problem on Windows 11, so the problem is not in Linux. Otherwise, the game works more stable than on Windows.

Launches and works fine on x11, can't get it to work on wayland (or xwayland)
On x11 there aren't any issues so far. However, when I try to launch it on wayland I get all the way to the main menu. There, my mouse inputs aren't recognized. When I unfocus the window and click back in, they are being recognized, but everytime I move my mouse there is absolutely terrible lag. I have tried just about every fix listed, but I just could not fix this in any way. I have to switch to an x11 DE to actually play the game :/ Note: I haven't had this specific issue with any other game so far.

Experienced heavy stuttering when VSync was enabled

Look i know dbd runs on arch just fine but ever since I switched over to Gentoo it only loads to a black screen
I will update my review if there's a fix
Works out of the box, only on experimental proton compatibility mode. Nothing else would run (ubuntu

When it doesn't crash, it's a fine game.
Since the Christmas, Bone Chill Event, patch- the game seems to be crashing randomly, originally suspected Snow Particle effects however it has persisted into normal game; although it might not be a Linux issue persay, lot's of disconnects in general...
Hotfix and last most recent proton both seem to crash randomly, still trying to find a cause..

Works out of the box
Default configs are perfect, no problems here
