WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=d" %command%
No audio during cut scenes. Proton 8-2 only fixed opening audio. Another reviewer marino_ag's solution with Proton launch option to override not to use builtin xaudio fixed all audio issue.
Game play is great and works fine with the steamdeck. Just the audio issue during cut scene.
Audio in cutscenes works since GE-Proton8-2
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=d" %command%
SDL_AUDIODRIVER didn't work for me (seems only some versions of proton work), then i saw someone that installed FAudio and it worked, i kept looking and just one override not to use builtin xaudio was the only thing needed from the winetricks verb.
Installed FAudio to have audio in cutscenes.
No sound on intro.
Fix needs to add into file steamapps/compatdata/243200/pfx/system.reg
under section [System\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Session Manager\\Environment]
line “SDL_AUDIODRIVER”=”directsound”
See https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1412#issuecomment-944992126
Played with Proton 6.3-8 and system.reg
edit.
one crash at beginning
Missing audio in cut scenes
alt + tab can cause problems with older Proton versions

Once the game loads up it is running great like a native game!
Game hung while starting the first time. Started it again the second time and it works fine!
In the cut scenes sound was missing
I could solve the audio problem in the cut scenes. Normally you should start the game with 3.7.1 proton and with with launch options "SDL_AUDIODRIVER="directsound" %command%". Well I tried it with newest proton and just installed faudio like here described https://github.com/Kron4ek/FAudio-Builds.
I did following:
- Install the game
- Start the script: WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/243200/pfx ./wine_setup_faudio.sh
- Start the game without launch options
Maybe the game should at least one time started before.
Folowed https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/1412 and set launch options to SDL_AUDIODRIVER="directsound" %command%
From time to time the mouse pointer hangs, but still playable.
You can choose:
- Proton 3.7-8 and changed launch options to hear the sound of cutscenes.
- Proton 5.13-8 and no sound in the cutscenes.

untill the blackscreen the game runs fine.
No audio in cutscenes
In the middle of the game, I get a black screen and can't continue playing
- No Audio in Cutscene - Glitch
Windows Mode cut of the buttom of the game. Could not navigate with the mouse there.
Glich out of the game during movment. Couldn't use any clickable part in the level.

SDL_AUDIODRIVER="directsound" %command%
Setting following environment variable solves issue with missing sound during cutscenes:
SDL_AUDIODRIVER="directsound" %command%

Works good
Played with Proton 5.0-9, "out-of-box".

Set the following starting options in Steam: SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm %command%
The game does not return to true fullscreen when using Alt+Tab
Minor freezes sometimes when issuing a command
Runs perfectly
No audio in cut-scenes. The old workaround does not work.
After escaping from fullscreen via Alt-Tab, game did not enter fullscreen again.
The game runs very well. Only issue, the cut scenes have no audio even when setting: "SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm %command%" in launch options.
Add SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm launch option to fix cut-scene audio issues.
When starting up the game, it will try to install a .NET Framework pack, which is not needed after initial setup. Also, I sometimes needed to press ESC to get the menu to initially load.
As in previous reports, audio during cut-scenes does not play. Downgrading does not fix this anymore.

Perfectly

No sound in cutscenes. Fix recommend by other users didn't work me (I tried different Proton versions). Otherwise perfectly playable. Full playthrough possible.

I first used Proton 4.2.7, game ran fine except for no audio in the cutscenes. Then I used the launch command "SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm %command%" as recommended by other reports. This did not fix the audio in the cut scenes. I then tried Proton 3.16.4 and it worked flawlessly, including audio. Game runs perfectly with no issues now.

For sound in cutscenes use "SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm %command%" as a launch option and proton 3.16-4.

No sound in cutscenes as others have reported but otherwise fully playable.

"SDL_AUDIODRIVER=winmm %command%" as a launch option to get audio in the cutscenes. Avoid proton3.16 beta (for now, at least). Visionaire Config Tool works installing wine-mono, but it is not really necessary. If Steam keeps trying to install .net every time you can delete the contents of ".../steamapps/common/Steamworks Shared/_CommonRedist/DotNet/3.5/" (not extremely elegant, but it can be recovered at anytime clicking on "verify integrity of game files...").

No audio in cutscenes.

No audio in cutscenes

No audio in cutscenes, otherwise stable and playable.

No Audio in cutscenes (as with other games from Daedalic using Visionaire)

Config tool doesn't start, but it's really not needed.

Visionaire Configuration Tool won't start.
