The main menu UI flickers but after loading into the game it is fine.
Main menu flickers

keyboard access not available
Mapping R key may fix rotation for houses and other objects in game

Menu glitches
Building rotation not working with protondb >6.3-8 (tried launching with lutris)
Severe flickering on the main menu and related menus, fine once you're actually in-game, doesn't cause serious problems just annoying.
Freeze of 2 seconds when there are automatic backups.

The 'R' key does not work in game when running off Steam. Can't rotate large buildings to place them. Works properly when launched from Lutris
Installing and running game in Steam/Proton
Install game from Steam.
Edit settings in proton prefix with regedit
to get rit of graphics glitches in menu (on my Intel card menu was not working at all).
To do this, run those commands in terminal (you must adjust paths depending on your Steam installation or distro specific paths...):
cd ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/566050/pfx/
STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/566050" WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/566050/pfx" "$HOME/.steam/root/steamapps/common/Proton - Experimental/files/bin/wine" 'regedit'
In regedit we will create new DWORD value in HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software > Wine > Direct3D > csmt
with value 0x00
(= disabled)

Installing widescreen patch
Create a new wine prefix in '/.wine-zeus_patcher'. With command: `WINEPREFIX=/.wine-zeus_patcher wineboot`
Download Resolution Customizer: `https://www.nexusmods.com/
Installing widescreen patch
Create a new wine prefix in '/.wine-zeus_patcher'. With command: `WINEPREFIX=/.wine-zeus_patcher wineboot`
Download Resolution Customizer: https://www.nexusmods.com/zeusmasterofolympus/mods/1?tab=files
Extract folder Zeus and Poseidon Resolution Customiser
from downloaded archive to created prefix. File Zeus & Poseidon Resolution Customiser.exe
must end up in path ~/.wine-zeus_patcher/drive_c/Patcher/Zeus & Poseidon Resolution Customiser.exe'
(or you will have to edit paths in commands)
We will put files from game mentioned in readme.txt
file to folders ~/.wine-zeus_patcher/drive_c/Patcher/base_files
and ~/.wine-zeus_patcher/drive_c/Patcher/base_files/DATA
. Original files are placed in ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon
(might be different in other distros)
Highly recommended to backup original files in case anything goes wrong:
cp -a "$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon/zeus.exe" "$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon/zeus.exe.old"
cp -a "$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon/DATA" "$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon/DATA.old"
Now use a winetricks to install .NET 4.0 to patcher prefix: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-zeus_patcher winetricks dotnet40
Finally we run the patcher: WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-zeus_patcher wine 'C:\Patcher\Zeus & Poseidon Resolution Customiser.exe'
In patcher utility just set desired resolution and click Generate EXE
The last and final stel is to copy files from ~/.wine-zeus_patcher/drive_c/Patcher/patched_files
and copy them to steam library ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon
.
Suggested command if you have same paths as I do is: cp -a "$HOME/.wine-zeus_patcher/drive_c/Patcher/patched_files/*" "$HOME/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/Zeus + Poseidon/"
Removed uneeded bindings

Have not tried the widescreen fix yet.

Flickering menus
Unable to scroll around map
Tried proton experimental and every old version until 4.13. 4.13 worked the best but still awful. Tried the integer scaling option mentioned in other entries to see if it fixes the inability to move around the map. It did not.

Found a widescreen fix. Instructions for various resolutions are in the file. Works very well on 3440x1440.
Main menu still glitchy as always.
Game is stable for proton 5.0-10. Basically no issues.
Menu title text phasing in and out out, mission start information screen same effect on the very top of the boxes.
Game is stable for proton 5.0-10. Tested with 6+ and got stuck early in loading.
I had the same start up fine and play fine.

Mostly works, but the scrolling issue does impede gameplay. I nevertheless enjoyed playing the game.
Without the WINE_FULLSCREEN_INTEGER_SCALING flag it's not possible to scroll the map downward or to the right by pushing the cursor against the respective screen edge. With this flag it works, but the image is no longer scaled to fit high resolution monitors :-\
Menu is glitchy (but still usable). Gameplay works mostly fine, except for the map scrolling issue.
This game does not work with Proton versions newer than 5.0. I've tried 5.13 and 6.3, neither works.
The game hang on "Raising Atlantis..."
Works pretty well out of the box. Enjoyable, if you don't mind the main menu flickering.
Flickering in the main menu.

Game doesnt even start.

Doesn't even launch anymore.

Graphical issues on main menu. Sometimes it crashes right after the initial loading process.

Has some minor graphic glitches in the main menu. The Mouse scrolling does only work if you go up or left.

The main menu has a lot of glitches/twitching. The game is playable but not comfortably since the map won't scroll by the mouse over active corner (corner on the left works, corner on the right won't).

The menu has a lot of twitching/glitches. The game is playable but not confortably. You can scroll the map by navigation tool but not from active corner (UpLeft, Left and DownLeft works / UpRight, Right and DownRight won't)

There is some twitching in the main menu, but the game is playable.

Works ok but the menus flicker
