There was a barely noticed lag every once and a while due to a hardware overheat issue
The game required an extra Proton option (environment variable), other than that it worked very well.
(GOG version) Don't work
Try to play GOG version with 5/6/7 Proton with no success.
The intro movie ran. The Main menu had buttons with no labels on them.
I had to keep alt tabing into and out of the game for it to get to the main menu.
Game demands Fullscreen+1024x768 Monitor Resolution
Game starts first time in montior resolution, but the mouse is restricted to 1024x768 upper left. 1024x768 is also the official max resolution. If you switch your monitor to it BEFORE starting the game, it will work. Tinkering with user.cfg file has no impact. Cannot change res to monitor successfully, nor force windowed mode, etc.
Aside from this, game crashed once in tutorial (CTD), but so far not in campaign. Some non-Steam/Proton related bugs seem to linger, yet overall the game runs fine with Proton. Mouse responsive. 3D rendering working smoothly. Framerate very high (no way to force vsync).
Started through one of the 3 main campaigns, all good so far with no tweaks required.
