Native version is stuck at loading screen for some reason, that's why I'm using Proton.
$ protontricks 107410 dotnet46
Add launch options "-noLauncher -useBE
" to skip the game launcher and force BattlEye install.
Occasional cracking.
Freeze every ~30m online and every ~1h offline
The game launcher doesn't work. Mods can't be played properly without using launcher. Most of the community servers are modded so you will have to search for either official server or a clean community server.
Same thing for Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia
Good
Pre-rendered videos doesn't work and you must hit "Enter" to skip them anyways.
Good
Cutscene pixelization
Sometimes the game may hang up when you'll try to exit
Good
- I had to restart the game after setting screen resolution to desktop.

Videos makes game crash
Videos workaround:
- Set launch parameter -nostartupmovies
- Edit config files StormPCCookedEngine.ini and StormEngine.ini in .../compatdata/501590/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Bulletstorm Full Clip Edition/StormGame/Config/
- Set bForceNoMovies to TRUE
Nope
I've installed MediaFoundation but game crashed after a few seconds playing intro.
I've also tried:
$ protontricks 501590 mf
Perfect
Seems like distant trees having issues with leaves textures. Not a big issue.
FPS is capped at 60.
You may have to make a minor tweak to run the game corretly.

PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command%

Bottom system panel visible in full screen, that's why I use border-less but screensaver frequently turn on when I'm playing on controller.
Can't get FPS level expected from my hardware. I expected more that 144 FPS. But at least I got not less than 60 FPS.
The game crashes on Proton 4.11-7. Videos doesn't play out of the box.
Steps to enable videos:
$ protontricks 462780 mf
cd to somewhere in steamapps/compatdata/462780/pfx
$ git clone git@github.com:tonix64/python-installcab.git
$ export WINEPREFIX=.
$ ./python-installcab/install-mf-64.sh
Download mfplat.dll v. 12.0.7601.23471 Windows 7 32bit and place it in game directory.
Done.
It will fix instant game crash
Native Linux version has worse graphics
Still doesn't work :(
Fix instant crash with:
$ protontricks 221100 dotnet46
However further it's either stuck at BattlEye installation or crash at the loading screen.
Good
Occasional split second stutters (it's really bothers in any racing game)
Fix online:
- Download Codemasters certificate
openssl x509 -in codemasters.pem -inform PEM -out codemasters.crt
sudo mv codemasters.crt /usr/local/share/ca-certificates
sudo update-ca-certificates
Reduce stutters:
- Enable Feral Gamemode (set launch options:

)

Works out-of-the-box with protonfixes but with Proton 4.11 make sure you are using master

I can see my wallpaper in left and upper corners.
The game will drop to 1 FPS at finish line after a few races. You will have to finish the same race again after restart.
Rename Grid_dx12.exe
to Grid_dx12.exe_bak
and then Grid.exe
to Grid_dx12.exe
DX12 doesn't work.
Sometimes FPS drops to 45.
Good but laggy
Sometimes FPS drops lower that 60 FPS. I guess older hardware will perform even worse.
Bad
Both controller and mouse are problem here.
During the first time setup it gives a warning "no audio device detected" but the audio works anyway.
I was able to at least see the main menu after enabling D9VK

EAC is broken.
Stutters and performance drops
Can't play on EAC servers.
Installed with error and instantly crashes
Error message:
You must use "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Control Panel to install or configure Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5
Bad performance
Can't get stable 60 FPS.
I expected more FPS but 100+ average fps is still fine. Enabling PhysX will hit your performance pretty hard.
I wasn't able to run this game, had to download and replace the questionable exe: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjAOLXh0xtmCgfAoztroDiFYfd3ooA
Bad performance, narrow FOV, too sensitive mouse
Mouse is too sensitive
Performance is pretty bad.
1. Mouse Sensitivity
To fix mouse sensitivity edit this file:
steamapps/compatdata/47790/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/EA Games/Medal of Honor/Config/MOHAInput.ini
and update this parameter:
MouseSensitivity=10.000000
This will loose mouse sensitivity multiplier and now you can fine-tune sensitivity in the game settings menu.
2. FOV
It seems like there are no easy way to fix the FOV since it's hardcoded by developers.
Black screen and "fatal error"
Put D3DCompiler_47.dll in the game folder
- Download the dll here.
64bit 10.0.15063.0
works for me. - Put it here:
Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 2/supercross2/Binaries/Win64
Good
Occasional terrain rendering artifact (may be not a Proton issue)
Occasional freezes (cpu hangup)
Open Bin/config.ini
and set Cfg.RenderDevice
to 1
.
I guess this game engine is not supposed to play more than 60 FPS.
DX10 is broken. Force the game to DX9 like I described above and it will work.

and change Fullscreen

Unfortunately you have to do it every single time.
Doesn't work
Doesn't work even with: __GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700 %command%

Can't get stable 60 FPS on decent hardware
Lower your settings if you want to get stable 60 FPS.

You have to lower your graphics unless you have super cool PC.
Fix EAC with:
$ PFX=$(protontricks -c 'echo $WINEPREFIX' 393380)
$ cd $PFX/drive_c/users/steamuser
$ chmod Temp -w
The in-game benchmark doesn't work.
This is a big improvement since last time I played this: it's no longer stutters, no crashes and it's not because shader compilation (I've used a fresh system). However you still may encounter problems with EAC because this problem is very inconsistent, this time I had to fix it manually.
P.S. Haven't tested that long.
Borked by Valve's CEG DRM
Track the issue here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/753
Easiest workaround: use crack.
Only with DX12
DX12 mode unplayable.
UE4 prerequisites will fail to install and keep trying to install again. Pretty easy to get around it by renaming the Redist
folder in the game folder.
You will have to lower your settings
Can't get decent 60 FPS for so old game.
Stop responding when I'm trying to get in the main menu
Brightness adjustment doesn't work.
The game crashes right after install.
Crash workaround:
Rename this directory $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Steamworks Shared/_CommonRedist/PhysX
before launching.
If you didn't remove the broken prefix steamapps/compatdata/16720/pfx
and try again.
This need to prevent installing the newer PhysX version.
