Works perfectly
The game worked perfectly without having to do anything extra. I played through the entire game without any issues at all.

6W TDP
Few HUD elements are smaller than it should be, but nothing too problematic

gamemoderun PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Experiência Fluida sem engasgos com essa versão, diferentes das versões estáveis Proton 8 ou 7 que ocorrem muitos engasgos e quedas bruscas de FPS
strangle 144 bash -c 'exec "${@/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe/Build\/Final\/Bioshock2HD.exe}"' -- %command% -nointro
To fix FOV(70 on default) and to disable vsync, I altered "Bioshock2SP.ini" and "User.ini" in "steamapps/compatdata/8850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming"
With the help of others on here who kindly shared their launch options, I was able to get rid of the 2KLauncher. Game runs very well. Vsync off and framerate cap @ 144(libstrangle). Proton 8.0-5

Great game worked and ran fine, better than Bioshock but ruined by 2ks "Quality of Life Update".
bash -c 'exec "${@/2KLauncher\/LauncherPatcher.exe/Build\/Final\/Bioshock2HD.exe}"' -- %command% -nointro
Needs 2k Launcher. I had use launch options to bypass it.

no problem so far, everything run smooth just like Bioshock 1

Singleplayer experience is near perfect out of the box. Multiplayer experience is acceptable, but only on Proton 7.0.6.
The multiplayer for this game lags in the player room, but speeds back up in the actual multiplayer games and is a playable experience overall.
Same as for online multiplayer.
Singleplayer worked well on all of the Proton versions I tried. Multiplayer worked to some extent on several Proton versions, but by the far worked the best on Proton 7.0.6.

gamemoderun %command% -nointro
Crackling audio during some loading screens and the final cutscene.
1 crash during gameplay, often crashed before reaching title screen.
I don't think my issues were particularly major and I would encourage others to see if they can get the game running.

Using default settings game would not launch. With Proton 6.3-8 game runs perfectly fine, no problems whatsoever.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Works good
Played with Proton 7.0-1.
Seems freezes are less.

Works well with only minor issues.
Sometimes alarm sounds continued past when they should have stopped, i.e. in cutscenes
High resolution textures sometimes don't load until you're right in front of the object. This is reduced by disabling esync (but out of the box is noticeable)
Can't change in game brightness

6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.21-GE-2
Experienced 4-5 random crashes in the main game and 4-5 during in the DLC
Save frequently! The crashes were always at different random times, so there was little predictability and the game autosaves are sparse. I didn't look into the crashes too much since they never repeated in the same place, but I suspect they may be because of the game itself (judging from online reports) rather than something Proton related.
Ran good with some minor bugs like lag on entering a new room
On pausing game the game lags but when u switch using alt+tab the pause menu works
Lag on entering new rooms , probably shaders
Pressing Start in Steam, the game launches, but after a moment, it stops. No window is ever made, no errors or logs generated.

6.9-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
6.9-GE-1
Need Proton-ge-custom, otherwise there are muddy textures
I used Proton 4.11-13 and used the launch flags PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9 -nointro
. Without the launch flags it wouldn't launch.
Previously I used Proton 4.2-9 with the launch flags PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command% -nointro
and the game would launch. But there would be many freezes where the program aren't responding and have to be force quit.
I had to disable Fsync and Esync in order to fix low resolution textures, otherwise it''s perfect.

Fps drops down while loading new rooms or locations
Played with Proton 5.13-5 and PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

So many crashes that crashes the computer and forces you to a brutal reboot (using power button).
Game slow in the interface
Frequent crash at some not so random points : after killing Big Daddies, and mportant or important foes, or getting after unlocking a new bonus with the camera, etc...
Play the remastered edition instead
Runs mostly well but it does have a few issues
Audio sounds poor at times
Always keep two saves, once in a while my save gets corrupted and I have to load the previous one. Same mouse issues as in Bioshock 1. Audio issues at times.

Colocar este parámetro en la configuración, me soluciono el problema de carga de pantalla
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9 -nointro
Fixes blurry textures and freeze for a few seconds when I press pause.
Audio stutters in videos.
Brightness control doesn't work.
Occasional stutters and freezes
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9 -nointro
For Russian players: Для установки полного русификатора потребуется пакет gstreamer1.0-plugins-good:i386.

PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9 -nointro

Stutters, crashes often, nearly unplayable.

The game runs perfectly. If you don't disable Esync then all the surface textures will be very low resolution and blurry. Also, when loading each map, the game asks you to press spacebar but doesn't respond to any keys. As a workaround I have to plug in a DS4 controller and push the A (X) button to progress. Then when the map loads I unplug the controller and press the spacebar to change control schemes. Every other control option works fine, tab is perminately mapped to a terminal command however.

Runs well. Some FPS drop.
Launch parameters : PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nointro

run well, only have some "graphic" rendering problems

Install the game with protonfixes wont need any more tweaks. It runs perfect and stable

Used "PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9 -nointro" argument and the game loaded and run perfectly for the first chapter. However upon reaching the load screen of the second chapter the game crashed.

Launch parameters: "PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9 -nointro" Average FPS: 50-130

Brightness slider not working, but game is playable, 40-60 FPS;
-- Multiplayer: I Tested "Private Mod" , but FPS constantly drops to 1 - 10, so it is not playable.

Out of the box experience... The game crash in DX10 mode, but that is a Proton/DXVK issue. In DX9 mode the game works perfectly. It is necessary to add this to the game launch options for a proper experience: PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -dx9
I played the first TWO levels in a row without any single crash.

To get past "Press Space to Continue" one needs to run the game with -nointro - that is, in game properties, set Launch Options: "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -nointro". For whatever reason, -nointro makes the game accept input after loading screen!
Presumably the game has similar texture issues with esync as Bioshock (1), but haven't tried without disabling ESYNC.
Seems to run fine, mostly. There are some stuttering / hiccups when transitioning from an area to another; seems the game is loading something. They do not hinder gameplay (as these do not happen mid-action) and might occur even on Windows - have not and can not try!
I've got graphical glitches at one point in Atlantic Express after Lamb talks you and you fall into water. Haven't played trough Atlantic Express yet.
