Game will randomly freeze at loading screens
if the random freezing issue was resolved, then this game would work perfectly.
Works perfectly without any tinkering.

Crashes after the introductory first race. I've played on a friend's machine with win and it's supposed to start other races.
Tried various other proton versions but either didn't run or crashes after first race

Game launches but freezes at epilepsy screen
Tried multiple Proton version (Experimental; 8.05; Hotfix; GE)
It works fine to start and play a session. Changing settings or losing focus when fullscreen is dangerous, but otherwise game is stable.
MANGOHUD=1 RADV_TEX_ANISO=16 gamescope -w 2560 -h 1440 -W 2560 -H 1440 %command%
Audo channel disappears on focus loss.
Game can crash when focus is lost in full screen mode, ie alt tab will crash the game. Doesn't happen during the very early startup.
Frames sometimes come out of order, may not be proton related.
Using gamescope tricks the game into keeping focus all the time, which allows the audio channel to stay open. Using this, you can bind the audio to OBS capture with helvum or qpgraph for clean recording.
Works great out of the box
Not sure why this is only silver. Installed/launched/played with no problem. Changed res to 800p with medium settings. Get a solid 60 FPS.

Works ootb
Tested with Proton 8.0.3
Pop!_OS 22.04 (x11)
Steam flatpak

Hangs at epilepsy warning screen
Doesn't freeze but stayed there for 30min...

Better to avoid ALT+TAB if you don't want to see black window and restart game
Works OOTB with Proton 8.0 without any tinkering, but for improve performance i switched to Proton-GE 7-54 because of FSR and added "VKD3D_CONFIG=force_static_cbv". One more - VKD3D (DX12 => Vulkan) works slowly on Pascal/Maxwell/Kepler and below, i.e. on these GPUs performance is lower (approximately -20% to -30% ) than on Windows with native DX12.
gamemoderun %command%
the game runs, and that's the best thing about it. I did have to use gamemoderun because without doing that, my system couldn't stay awake (just like me) and would dim the display and go to the lock screen while the game was running, which would cause it to crash
The game with directx 12 is very laggy on my hardware. I followed Drummond's tutorial:
I followed the steps below to for the game to run with Direct X 11: 1 - Downloaded dxcpl from here: https://www.netvector.de/downloads/dxcpl-directx-11-emulator.exe 2 - Executed protontricks and using explorer, executed dxcpl and on it. 2.1 - Clicked in Edit List > ... > selected the game launcher > add > ok > checked on Disable Feature Level Upgrade and choose in the list called Feature level limit: 11_1. > Applied and closed 3 - Launched the game from steam.
After this the game ran a stable 60fps on medium settings.

Plays Flawlessly
Runs well, even on my old hardware.

Sometimes colliders doesn't load and you pass through cars.
I uninstalled because it's annoying you finish a race and the game crashes without saving.
Some circuits the fps drops to 30~40 on High/Med settings, but most will be ok at 50~60 fps.

Last time i tested, the game runs like crap, but now on Proton 7.0-5 the game performs a little better.
DX12 version of this game sucks. I've played the dx11 version on a "alternative" version in the past and the game performs GREAT the same as on Windows, but on DX12 which is the only option avaiable on steam you can play, but will run a lot worse than Windows.
Ran okay, though worse than I would expect, but crashed right after first race
many frame drops
crashed after first race
Ran very well - got 170fps at high settings, no crashes, instability or bugs. No modifications made to Proton's settings.
gamescope -W 1920 -H 1200 -f -e %command%
Startup is slow - initial black screen lasts for a minute

on steam go to game properties - general and set the resolution to 1280x800 otherwise the game screen will be tiny
in steam game properties it must be changed the resolution to 1280x800
Overall highly playable, but personally might pass
DS4 controller worked with 'disable steam input', but showed PC keys with no controller vibration.
'default steam input' detects controller as xbox 360. xbox buttons prompts and vibration enabled.
The window never showing back up when alt+tabbing out of the game is a killer for me. Unfortunate.

This game can run medium/high settings on Windows 10 at mostly of the time 50-60fps. On Linux the game drop the performance by 15 to 20 fps and runs at 40 mostly of the scenarios, rain scenarios drops to around 30-40fps. That's because dx12 on my setup works pretty terrible. I've played this game before on a cracked version which has a dx11 launcher and the dx11 performance is almost the same Linux/Windows.
Xbox One controller wasnt being recognised properly, had to force enable "Steam Input" from preferences, instead of using the "Default". After that the Xbox One controller worked perfectly
Xbox One controller wasnt initially recognising properly. The accelleration would get stuck. But after setting the Steam Input to "Enabled" instead of "Default" in the steam game preferences, it worked fine.
Game would run fine during races, but once race ended and was going back to the main menu, it would crash.
Works great, though it occasionally crashed to the desktop with a send crash report to Codemasters option, using my dated 980 Ti at 1440p medium settings. At 1080p High settings the occasional crashing persisted.
Found no issues

Proton-7.1-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Graphical glitches on both the intro videos and during gameplay, sound was off and the game crashes after the first 3 intro races
The video parts where glitching the gameplay was fine.
The particles are all broken
The video parts had lots of micro stuttering and audio glitches
The game crashes after the 3 intro races.
Using Proton 5.0-10

Need to adjust G29 bindings.

Game runs nearly perfect out of box
Gamepad users may encounter responsiveness issue. This occurs due to Steam controller configuration. After 5-10 seconds, the game recognizes the controller. There may be disconnection problems but i didn't encountered yet. After alt+tabbing the game, game goes windowed mode and game frozes, this may act differently on your pc.

Me anda mejor que en Windows
Mismo problema con altas resoluciones igual que en Windows, la solución es la misma
I could only get it to run under the proton version listed. I had to wait about 45 secs - 1min for logo to appear
VKD3D_CONFIG=force_bindless_texel_buffer %command%
Lighting and particle effects flickering
No logitech wheel detection
Frame rate is very unstable
Game ran fine when we had access to the dx11 exe. It is gone now.
Worked only with Proton 5.0-10 version. Other Proton versions crash right after intro.
Game has constant stutter, doesn't fully utilize GPU.
starting with this vulkan parameter: VKD3D_CONFIG=force_bindless_texel_buffer
