Just install NFSUndercover.GenericFix and set in the ini file ImproveGamepadSupport = 1 and Scaling = 1 to have correct fov and 1280x800 resolution. Can also disable Motion Blur and Bloom.

Works OOTB
Even if this game is delisted, for those who have this in their library or get it through other means & add it as a non-Steam game, it runs absolutely flawlessly with 0 issues. Controller support & everything.

DO NOT Uninstall the game otherwise you will loose your Safe file, it's not like on Windows where it gets saved in the Document folder nor it get's synced into the Steam Cloud
Crashed on some missions - changing to Proton 7 seems to fixed it for me.
Runs fine, better with Proton 7.
It's not possible to remap controller.
Steam overlay doesn't work.

i played this time for the story too many times all being under linux, didnt had any issues
Working great
The game runs great, you just need to adjust the resolution when you open the game for the first time
Not really trouble, but had to use the touch screen to get through the punkbuster portion. Just something to be aware of.
A few buildings here and there have some artifacting, very minor and not very common.
I was able to get it running without any real issues. The controller prompts are all keyboard based despite the game recognizing joypad controls. There are a few keys that will still need to be mapped separately but that's about it. The game defaults to the lowest settings possible, change that as soon as you can, steamdeck can do full 720p@60fps on max settings. Maybe don't put the world effects at highest for aesthetic reasons though (the insane amount of bloom is distracting). Overall seems to be great.
To preserve Battery cap Frames to 30
The Game has a few minor problems, but is totally playable, I played the whole Game on Linux
All artifacts are in the cutscenes, but they are mostly on the border of the screen or not that obvious.
Sometimes the car tried to use Nitrous all the time after Alt+Tab, I had to restart the Game to fix that.
Rarely the Game crashed after Alt+Tab.
You have to connect the Controller before you start the Game. I tested a Xbox One Controller via USB, everything worked for me.
The Game is sometimes a bit laggy (low fps) when much is going on, but still playable.
Sometimes a few random crashes.
The Mission "Transporter" is a bit buggy, you have to be in the area of the activity when you start it on the map, if you are too far away the game will crash (This is apparently a general Problem of the PC version).
just a small tweaking of the game's graphical settings.thats all.
some world items(like street signs) dont load up. otherwise everything perfect.

6.5-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
GloriousEggroll 6.5-1
HUD and Lens Flares show up, but nothing regarding game itself.
Additionally, Proton 5.13-6 was tried, only to fail to launch
Have some fps drops in first one or two minutes, after that it works fine.

extremely high cpu/gpu temperature while playing
extremely high cpu/gpu temperature while playing. i am on laptop and this is first time that playing became hard because of hot keyboard. game itself runs smoothly, no lags or freezes.
Works fine.

Runs out of the box, but some configuration (graphics, input) is needed
Played with a logitech steering wheel. I have to remap the axis and keys but after that it works great.

Bad resolution detection, bad input mappings for gamepads and impossible to remap (game doesn't detect axis on gamepad).
Incorrect resolution detection and incorrect display ratios.
Incorrect resolution detection
controller detected but remapping not possible and default controls are.... stupid.
Game insists on connecting to online service even when disabling this in the options.
works ootb with Xbox 360 controller with everything on max.

There were some problems but I'd say it was nearly flawless experience with Proton 5
Game crashed 2 times in 10 hours of gameplay(not in the important times and I don't think it was Proton's fault)
Steam overlay wasn't worked
Game runs perfectly

Proton 3.6 worked but it had many texture bugs and it sometimes stuttered and often crashed.
Proton 4.11 worked just fine except for no audio.
Proton 5.0-7 works flawlessly so far.
for a summary ill say that its 100% like windows no fps drops no nothing on 5.0
it works very well on 5.0-7
Game does not start.
The game stuttered a lot during first launch, but it should be punkbuster issue, then it turned to be kinda fine. Even though the game is actually poorly optimized it seems that I have same framerate like on windows
The game crashes everytime I change graphics settings
Perfect
I expected more FPS but it's still playble (60+ FPS).
Runs like native.
Everything seems to be working as far as I can tell. I didn't notice any problems.

I've tried every version of Proton that Steam offered to me, and none of them worked. When I try to run the game, it says "Preparing to launch Need for Speed Undercover" and then that window closes and nothing else happens. In other words, the game doesn't launch at all, no matter which Proton version I try. Am I missing a dependency or something? This and Assetto Corsa are the only 2 games in my library that don't work.

I have no issue's with this game. Posted a steamcommunity video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAEvLb5BdFw

Game runs just fine.

Everything Worked as expected 60+FPS

Doesn't start, the logs are hinting at a segfault

so my previous post was actually the "bad" graphics drivers... running the proper amd drivers now, and performance is much better. maxed ALL settings @1080p, EXCEPT world effects (that orange yellow tint is intolerable) the white tyre glitch is actually a REFLECTION, light hits it and for some reason it lights up the affected area at full tilt... (lighting bug) the only reason i'm not hitting "platinum" on this game, is that i suspect the lighting thing is actually a proton/wine bug. it'll take a few days of investigation tops to find and fix for full compatibility... probably something that will get fixed by coincidence anyway... but "platinum" means perfect. and i can't see that being a bug windows had. besides this minor detail you'll rarely actually have the time to really notice, it seems to run absolutely perfect, no other signs of artifacts, or glitches.

i've not yet (bothered) tried tweaks, that said, i had to drop the graphics settings quite a lot (except cars i refuse to do that) to bring the fps into a smoothish play. 60fps? don't know. vsync had to be turned off as it dropped fps... a lot. (that said, i've got to google that, many games are having vsync performance issues) i've witnessed minor but significant texture glitching, change the car tyres to get tyres that try to be white most of the time, or the busted cutscene the people seem to have shaders applied erratically to them, so you end up with half an officer covered in shadow, and what's not, has like paint reflection shading or something.
these are actually VERY minor annoyances, and without any tweaks, if i had more time right now, i'd try the tweaks. got things to do for now, but i'm giving a breakdown now anyway. i'll see what happens with tweaks in a day or so and report back again... (i thought online was dead... though i've never bothered with online in this sort of game before anyway, so can't and won't test that)
running fedora by the way.

Runs almost perfectly. Runs out of the box, full graphics, 50-60 FPS and online mode working perfectly (it almost doesn't has players though haha =D). The only problem I have is that everything looks quite darker than it should be, like if it has too much shadows or the bright is too low (when it isn't). In the first cutscenes you almost can't see the man's face. It doesn't makes the game unplayable, just a little bit anoyinng until you get used to it.

Its Working
