Runs without any issues, great experience
Mods work fine.

Everything worked out of the box. I only set all the graphical settings to 'low' to improve performance, while the game still looked good.

Highly enjoyable. No save issues moving between Windows and Linux.
Mostly The people online (:

Nothing else to say what everyone else said. So I'll just recommend you the best settings
Cap it at 30 FPS.
Tweak everything to your liking to a mid/high range if you want a consistent 60 FPS, but cap it to 30 FPS if you want to max everything out. That's all.

Sometimes the sound would cut for a few seconds before it comes back
Maybe it is the way the game is supposed to be, but the FPS is all over the place, from high 120 to low 30. I finally settled on enabling v-sync and setting basically everything to LOW, especially shadow and car details (and I disabled both AA settings). Now I'm getting pretty much locked 60FPS experience with low input lag and pretty good graphics.

Excellent
The only thing that doesn't work on Linux is typing the charcters "Å,Ä,Ö" on a Swedish keyboard while using the chat in a multiplayer lobby. Besides that is works wonderfully well.

Was still playable using Proton Experimental but had to reduce graphics settings

Shouldn't be verified as there is a lot of tiny text in the menus, but the in-game text and UI is fine and the game plays well overall.
45 FPS cap in Deck settings at Medium graphics preset gets about 3.5 hours on Deck OLED
Most of the text in menus and pre-race info, etc.
Worked perfectly

Steam doesnt have this as supported on linux, so you have to force it to run proton 9 to install it, but other than that it runs great.
Plugging the controller into the computer worked, couldnt get BT connection to detect
Connected and played on my favorite server, no issues and only lag was server lag.

Low settings, 60fps/60hz cap.
Occasionally a pop up window will appear to sync your cloud saves (if you have been playing on another machine prior), just select sync with touch screen.
UI is a tad small, readable on OLED screen but might be pushing it on base.
I finished the campaign for the game on this, although towards the end I got a little frustrated because the screen size definitely impacts how well I play, on account of not being able to see turns or bends as clearly. This game, just like on desktop, suffers from poor aliasing, so don't worry if there is shimmering everywhere even with SMAA/MSAA, its just the game.

Worked fine straight from install, no changes required
Its a while since I've played it, but I'd say the graphics and performance was better on Linux than Windows on exactly the same hardware

This is the beauty of using Linux (most of the time ;-))
Just use ProtonGE (9.2 being the latest as of writing), install it per ProtonUp-Qt or manually, Start the Game & wait for ~3-4minutes to let Proton setup itself, and your good to go! Cheers.
no problems at all, everything works perfectly

Smashing Game! (Get it?)
The installation went seamlessly, and I was quickly drawn into the game's intense action, crashing into other cars and watching parts fly everywhere. To my delight, the graphics, sound, and controller support were all top-notch, making for a fantastic gaming experience.

Works ootb. If you have Resizable BAR capable hardware make sure it's enable for optimize performance.
Playing Ultra settings on 1440p. The solution was, as mentioned by other users before, to enable Resizable BAR. Completly changed the performance, from 44fps deeps when many cars where in view screen to 135fps avg.

Fun time, great experience on linux and with racing wheel.

audio just drops occasionally, game restart required to fix
occasionally the skybox just turns black for no reason, game restart required to fix
dual sense controller had major issues with triggers and rumble, had to enable steam input for playstation controllers to fix
poorer framerate than expected
Dual Sense users definitely need to put more work into it, but it works fine with an Xbox controller
very playable! even if the occasional restart is needed
Worked with non of the available proton versions between 5.0.10-8.0.4

With Windows 10 I am able to play this game at ultra settings 1080p @ 60Hz. With Linux I have to play it with medium settings and it is still slightly slow but good playable.
I have to disable the Steam Overlay. Otherwise the game will crash by opening the overlay or by a Steam notification.

Works overall. Small bugs but gameplay is very good
DLC Shop from main menu didnt work for me.

Works good. I had some seldom "loading-freezes" but no major issues.
I had it hung up at the end of a race in the loading screen a couple of times. Just freezed showing the percentage of loading. Had to kill it than. I did not lose any progress about it and experienced this very seldom.

Running at 1440p on ultra settings, get around 70 fps when there is a lot of action on screen.
Crashed several times, never during gameplay but at menus. Switching to GE resolved this mostly.
It runs reliably enough if using GE-Proton.
I have played with more than 20 players, and everything worked perfectly at 60fps
With a few graphics tweaks it's easy to play at a stable 60fps in races full of players. everything works perfect
It worked straight out of the box for me, no tinkering, no issues, just download and play. I'm terrible at the game but it works great
default "High" graphics settings - 1440P - Works very smooth
Since the game's latest update the "Allow Tearing" option should be enabled (found on the Steam Deck Performance overlay, below the Refresh Rate) to avoid game crashing and freezing.
Framerate Limit is set to 40 and Refresh Rate is set to 40 too.
Since the latest update, you have to enable the Allow Tearing option on Steam Deck's Performance overlay (found below Refresh Rate) to make the game playable in Gaming Mode. However it still works out of the box in Desktop Mode.
awful performance
DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Works really well. If your motherboard support Re-Size BAR in BIOS settings turn in on to get very high fps in game. If not and you have low fps in game set shadows to medium or low but rest of graphics options set to max.
Works withount any extra settings. Starting quick multiplayer match crashes the game. other multiplyer options are playable
Works out of the box
I didn't try multiplayer
Works great OOB.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%
Works great. But look for the Re-Size BAR Support BIOS setting, it must be enabled otherwise there will be performance drops like on my hardware.
