The game plays flawlessly at a steady 60 fps by default. From what I remember, the battery would last you around 3h on the original deck. As per the graphics settings, here's how they looked on my side:
- Simulation Quality (CPU): Maximum
- Advance Graphics Options: everything disabled
- Resolution: 1280x800
If you like off-road simulators, I highly recommend giving this one a go. For me personally, the gameplay was a bit too slow. So I stopped after doing all the challenges and the first single player mission.

Latest proton (9/Hotfix) was playable but giving occasional crashes/freezes. It was working well on Proton 8 but I realized one day some of the textures were quite blurry and this seems to be an intermittent issues when sometimes textures are randomly low-res, noticeable on the compass and the load on your truck. Proton 7 fixed both of the above, so far.

No need to tinker anything (I have not the game on steam, I m using Heroic Launcher to launch from Epic Games)

PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
Verifier compatibilité Vulkan 1.3 sur Carte Nvidia avec Pilotes <= 470.

Ran exactly as expected.
I also ran this on Ubuntu with the same hardware no issue, prior to swapping to arch.
Save game didn't sync the first time and I cancelled the failure dialog. Next time it worked.

Controller needed to be set to order #2 to work

Proton 9, works absolutely perfectly, no changes needed. Stable, rock solid FPS.

PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
Heavy freezes first 5-10 seconds after map loading.
Some modded maps with lots of objects cause system locks on loading.
Game itself does not synchronize headlight and terrain deformations in multiplayer. Both in Windows and Linux.
Vanilla maps perfectly playable out of box after some stuttering at start. Modded maps need tinkering (steam launch options) to play smooth.

Besideds the studdering its just like playing of Windows.
Selecting trucks froze my game for a few seconds. (Stopped freezing everytime I got out of the menu for picking starting trucks.)
Loading into a map with modded trucks causes my game to freeze for 30 seconds then wouldn't ever again (on the same map with same trucks [Modded]).
It just works like windows

Works out of box. Without thinkering.
Very rare steam connection issues.

Frame Limit: 30 FPS
Half Rate Shading: On
TDP: 4 watts
Manual GPU: 500 MHz
Slightly blurry text.
Must reorder external controllers.
Runs perfectly, some blurry text in external view mode, external controllers do work but need to be reordered first (Controller Settings, "Reorder Controllers"), and performance can be adjusted to increase battery runtime.

gamemoderun %command%
All the multiplayer features work out of the box.
No issues at all, even the gamepad works fine, although there is no support for dualshock, so the xbox layout will be used.
PROTON_FORCE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1 %command%

gamemoderun %command%
Fun time, great experience on linux and with force feedback racing wheel.

The games does NOT work in normal gaming mode on the steam deck, only when switching to desktop mode, then launching the game, does the game recocnize the controller and you can play. Dunno about added a controller in gaming mode.

Works perfect! Enjoy!

Works great on Steam Deck
40Hz lock
Just works
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%

tried to install dx9, failed to install it (error)
Tried to install dx9 via Heroic's winetricks like others have suggested online. I get an error that my prefix is 64 bit instead of 32 bit. Fine, so i made a new one with 32 bit. Still receive a different error when trying to install dx9.
Worked as-intended out of the box
Haven't tried multiplayer.
i recommend if you have any lag switch to proton 5.13 becuase for me proton exprimental lags too much.
Игра поставилась без проблем, прошёл её в линуксе. В онлайн пытался поиграть, но народу мало, для старта надо 4 человека, не дождался.
XBO ctlr: R-stick seemed unresponsive at startup, but a few seconds later, fully OK. menu button slightly unresponsive throughout.

Install d3dx9 using winetricks. Otherwise, the game crashes as soon as we start the tutorial. (The way this game works, we can reach game menu only after completing the tutorial.) https://forums.lutris.net/t/mudrunner-doesnt-work/11087 PS: I own the game in the Epic Store.
Game crashes on tutorial. Installing d3dx9 using winetricks fixes this.
Runs without issues out of the box and with great performance, hitting a solid 60fps at medium settings and native res with TDP locked at 5W max.
Overall smooth experience
Everything works as expected, but I only played with the default maps and haven't tried multiplayer
probably because of my spec, needed to pass the PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
to render big maps / mods, native maps are fine without it.

Game loads but crashes after pressing the ok button to enter the tutorial

It ran just fine out of the box, tho I didn't try multiplayer

Game crashes upon creating/loading a world
I was able to get to the main menu by clicking esc and the main menu option but crashes still occur even after dropping settings to the lowest options
