I just pressed play and everything worked, no tinkering needed.
Worked really well, if not better than on windows.
Froze once during my entire 30+ hour play-through. It was doing the cinematic at the credits. I restarted the game, and it picked up where I left without any problem.
Opens the Glyph launcher that doesn't render correctly. No way to actually launch the game.
Had to tap the touchscreen to complete the setup process
Played through the entire campaign with no problems
Multiplayer works even though Warner Bros. Games closed the servers back in 2016.
You'll have to install the unofficial Arkham Origins Community Patch and it will launch.
The first 5-10 minutes of gameplay is laggy until shadercache have been compiled. This is only done once.
- Download and extract BLRevive
- In Steam Library click 'ADD A GAME' -> 'Add a Non-Steam Game...' -> 'BROWSE' Select the Launcher.exe file in the folder your extracted
- Right-click the 'Launcher.exe' game in your library, click 'Properties...' -> 'COMPATIBILITY' and force it to use Proton
- Start the new game from your library
- In the 'Patcher'-tab; Browse and select 'blacklightretribution' folder inside steamapps/common
- Click 'Patch File'
- Done! Now you can play bot matches from the 'Bot Match' tab, or Join public servers in the 'Client' tab (Available server can be found on their Discord)
Played through the entire campaign on hard difficulty. Everything worked perfectly.

All pre-rendered video cutscenes were skipped
There is a lot of in-engine rendered cutscenes (non-video) that all work, so you will get the narrative even though the video-cutscenes are skipped.
It plays without any problems. But would highly recommend attaching mouse and keyboard to enjoy the game.
Played through the first two missions. Everything seems to work perfectly
This is also a problem on Microsoft Windows, but you should set your resolution as a launch option like this: -w 1920 -h 1080
Crashes in chapter 2.
There are no menu entry that can set the game fullscreen, but ALT+Enter works.
Crashed at a specific point 4 minutes into chapter 2. Was fixed by disabling VSync. Still experiencing other crashed later in same mission, and will update the report when I find a fix for them.
Install 'd3dcompiler_47'
Had few periods of fps drops down to 30's that was unexpected given the game's age
The game will soft-lock trying to connect to some offline service when going from titlescreen to main menu (this is also a problem on windows).
This can be circumvented by disabling WiFi before reaching the titlescreen and then you are free to re-enable it when you have entered the main menu.
After the newest version of proton the bug with missing UI was fixed. There is still one bug remaining - the cutscenes still auto skips
Great performance when playing in playground (solo), but Easy Anti-Cheat immediately kicks from online matches.
Didn't render the "Codemasters logo intro video" (had sound though), but everything else worked flawless.
Super fun and great performance
The publisher/developer logo intro at launch does not render properly (but there is sound)
Unzip this file into the the game directory located at .../steamapps/common/Dirt 2/
to disable GFWL that stops the game from launching.
A popup complained that OpenAL32.dll was read-only. I clicked the ignore
button with the mouse, and never saw that error again.
The game plays with no performance issues. But without being able to save your progress; the game is not an enjoyable experience.
I extracted the two files from this archive (https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/576-bulletstorm-xlivedll/) into the game’s root directory, to disable ‘Games For Windows Live’
The game does not save progress. Probably caused by GFWL
Luckily the "Dirt 3 Complete Edition", that now is the only version of the game, plays really well.
Worked perfectly, could both dive and kick through the entire campaign
It works better than on Windows after disabling the vulkan shader cache provided by Valve.
The game froze up for ~15 seconds every time a new match or the menu was loaded. It Was fixed by adding -vulkan_disable_steam_shader_cache
to the launch options.
Native version available since November 2017, even though it is not advertised on its store page. Runs flawless without proton.

Steam shows the game as running for about a half minute (no windows appears), then nothing.
Steam shows the game as running for about a half minute (no windows appears), then nothing.
The ingame options menu crashes the game, but everything else works, and all the options can be set with standard source engine launch options.
Works out-of-the-box
After Bethesda's update 1.7.0.4 October 12, it no longer requires "Games for Windows - Live"
Fun and plays well.
Steam overlay freezes the game, so I disabled that in the steam game properties.
Steam defaults to running the native linux version of the game, but it refuses to launch. By forcing the game to run through proton it works flawlessly.
The linux version does not launch at all.
Could not return after Alt-Tab
It works after installing dependencies with protontricks:
protontricks 25890 d3dx9 d3dcompiler_42
At launch it always tries to install dotnet 2.0, but realizes that it already is installed. Not really a problem.
The native version throws an error about missing files, but with Proton it just worked.
Worth it, if you don't value online multiplayer.
The multiplayer ping symbol and text is too small, everything else is readable but can be a bit small at times.
You can play online multiplayer matches for a few seconds and then you'll be kicked (desynced).
Online leaderboards doesn't work either.
Worked perfectly and recognised multiple thirdparty controllers.
Unzip this file into the the game directory located at .../steamapps/common/Kane and Lynch Dead Men/ to disable GFWL that stops the game from launching

I changed the graphical setting to use DirectX 11 instead of the default DirectX 9, and everything worked after that. It can be done with the following command:
sed -i 's/DirectX 9/DirectX 11/' "$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/110800/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Rockstar Games/L.A. Noire/settings.ini"
At launch it always tries to install DirectX for a second and then proceeds to launch the game. Not really an issue though.

Great performance.
It lags a lot when showing the trailer for Phantom Pain that is shown after the credits, but you can just skip it.
Following this guide made the game run flawless https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/458#issuecomment-418483862
After installing Client Patch Version 2.4 Installer everything works.
Note that the patch asks for installation folder which is steamapps\common\MagickaWizardWars not in compatdata.
Before initially launching the game (Otherwise it will hang):
- Delete this file .../steamapps/common/Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection/support/Gfwlivesetup.exe
- Unzip this file into the the game directory located at .../steamapps/common/Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection/BINARIES/WIN32/ to disable GFWL that stops the game from launching.
Online Matchmaking, Leaderboards, and Achievements doesn't work, but that isn't a compatibility issue because it is the same state on windows.
This is not a tinker report, because the same workaround is needed on Windows
When prompted to install Flash player, click Browse and select this file from archive.org of adobe.com. Then everything worked as expected.
Clearly not made for a PC release as controls is optimized for touchscreen and resolution fixed to 990x750, but it works.
When playing videos, you have to escape fullscreen in order to render them.
When prompted, accept to install Adobe Air, but don't update (click 'Update Later'), when prompted again press 'cancel' to avoid updating.
Runs perfectly. (You can enable free mouse look mode with +mlook in the console)
Played perfectly after initial setup! Super fun to complete on the deck.
Had to map the controls in the in-game settings.
Looks incredible! And only one feature missing.
I capped the framerate to 60, helped in menu and videos.
The game chrashes when launching "Instant Action" single player, but everything else works fine.
The game sometimes has a problem with initially connecting to game servers, this happens on windows too.
Grass and trees in the intro screen flicker, and shadows aren't as gradient as they should be.
Renamed skse_loader.exe to SkyrimLauncher.exe
Works perfectly after disabling vsync.
When launching the game first time choose configure, and disable vsync. Otherwise it will not load any race.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 PROTON_SET_GAME_DRIVE=1 %command%
The installer for the launcher doesn't render and just shows a black window, you can press 'Enter' to progress and when the launcher is installed everything works as expected.
Worked flawlessly out of the box; sync'ed save games, and downloaded workshop mods. Just like on Windows.
Runs with native performance. Missing npc voices can easily be fixed with this script https://github.com/Kron4ek/FAudio-Builds
7.0rc6-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
protontricks 489830 xact
Crashed every 2-3 hours
Works well both natively and with proton
Works well, but not perfectly.
Mouse cursor is visible
Mild screentearing
Works great, except that Alt-Tab freezes the game
Uplay cannot connect to Internet, even after linking gnutls.
Mouse didn't autocenter, but was fixed by setting [\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\AppDefaults\DirectInput] "MouseWarpOverride"="force" in regedit. Now game menu can only be navigated with keyboard, but game runs smooth and as intended otherwise.
Played through the entire game, no problems encountered.
Had to push buttons on the initial setup screen using the touchscreen or the virtual mouse. (Only first time setup)
Runs well
Choose ‘Launch in Window’ when prompted. Fullscreen doesn't work.
Bypass the buggy launcher with this fix https://gitlab.com/GloriousEggroll/warframe-linux/tree/steamplay-proton . After the fix it works flawlessly.
Seams to work flawlessly with Proton Experimental
Played through the campaign and everything worked out of the box.
Proton-6.18-GE-2
When applying new resolution the game would not register clicks from mouse one. This is fixed by Alt-Tab out and then into the game again.
I can't get more than 10fps if I set a resolution above 1600x900, but works great with that and below. Use Proton GE for best performance. Here is my benchmarking:
- 1600x900 resolution
- All graphics setting at the highest option, except:
- Anti-aliasing: FXAA
- MotionBlur: Off
- Depth of Field: Off
This setup yields:
- 67fps Proton-6.18-GE
- 55fps Proton Experimental
- 50fps Proton 6.3-7
