If you bought this game from Epic Games, remember to redeem the key first from Epic Games Launcher to Ubisoft Connect before downloading. This process also links your Epic account to your Ubisoft account if you didn't before.
The game's first boot launches Ubisoft Connect and asks for mandatory login.
There is not a change language option ingame. Language selection only shows up if you install inside Ubisoft Connect. It will always install the English version, through Heroic, regardless of your region. In order to change the language, you need to launch Ubisoft Connect exe (it is located inside the game's folder, you don't need to download it) inside the Rayman Legends prefix (Using Heroic game settings) and reinstall Rayman Legends using Ubisoft Connect Launcher. Remember to select the exact same path as your previous Heroic Rayman install, otherwise you could scrap the whole installation.
Once you (finally) get ingame, it has zero issues. It barely pushes the Deck. Battery lasts about 4 hours with the LCD version, rock solid 60fps, 800p.
Limited resolution. Fullscreen limited to main monitor/screen.
No Ubisoft safe but completely playable. Disable or play around with Steam Input.
Steam OS beta causes unplayable framerate drops, switching back to stable gives a locked 60 fps.
It seems any old Uplay problems have been fixed, game requires Ubisoft Connect to be installed but all of that automatically happens during initial boot. Game appears to not support Steam Cloud saving and in their infinite wisdom, the Ubisoft launcher also doesnt support cloud saves. Syncthing should easily work for syncing saves between systems though.
Super, le jeu fonctionne sans AUCUN soucis
10/10
It's ok
This game is locked to 60 FPS. I have the OLED, so I changed the screen's refresh rate in the performance settings in quick settings.
Ubisoft Connect can lick my taint
First the game was windowed. I changed it to fullscreen in forced 1080p (internal) and it didn't fit the scree. Rebooting then setting it back to fullscreen seems to have worked, though I can't really reproduce the issue anymore.
If you use GE-Proton, the game will not recognize Steam Input (i.e. your Steam Deck)
Steam Cloud not supported. Ubisoft Connect cloud sync doesn't seem to work either.
The SteamOS beta does not play well with this game. Stick to stable.
Ubisoft servers for this game are offline.
Works great tinker-free
Can't remember if I had to install Ubisoft Connect via Lutris or not, but it's a very minor thing regardless. Overall generally works great out of the box and with minimal tinkering.
when you play the game from a family library its a bit difficult but possible when you startup the game the first time it should work on the first startup you have to restart the game 2-3 times but the second time it wont work heres what i did:
1.copy or move your save file to another location 2.reinstall the game 3.login to ubisoft connect 4.move the save file back to the save location 5.restart the game 2-3 times 6.enjoy the game its annoying but the only way i could get it to work with family sharing if you close the game repeat the process
when i bought the game it everything worked for me if you dont want
Game itself work fine once in game sometimes won't work due Ubisoft connect not game itself once past work fine.
Game work good on steam deck and run 60fps no problem may sometimes have Ubisoft connection break on you case uninstalled and installed
Working for me fine thier Ubisoft connection break again recommend uninstall game and wait some time for next proton ver have exit game clearly so update are working just Ubisoft is lazy company overall the game is playable once make in game
Didn't run at all.
Fullscreen was showing only the top left part. All good after using GE-Proton8-32
Changed to enable steam input in contyroller menu
Did not synchronize progress from cloud, had to copy the savegame file from windows in the steamos instance, then progress retrieved.
Would launch without any trick / proton but no progress synchronisation from cloud
(Dis)connecting controllers are successfully handled.
Ubisoft Connect takes a whole minute to start up, until a splash screen is shown and the actual game is launched.
When using GE-Proton7-43, the UPlay launcher got stuck as a windowless zombie. Switching to GE-Proton8-25 caused Ubisoft Connect to be automatically installed. I likely had existing login credentials in my Steam compatdata, as I wasn't prompted to log in.
ubisoft launcher breaks it
ubisoft launcher breaks it. Better off DUMPING YOUR COPY THAT YOU OWN ON PS3 and using the rpcs3 emulator to play the game instead. Runs at 60fps rock solid.
Can't connect
Played the EGS version.
First lauch I had to make an account for ubisoft launcher. When I was done the game did not show up. After a restart it worked
The Game Worked Well, aside from multiplayer being borked, nonfunctional Dpad, and corrupted save.
Around 10 hours in, and im guessing from switching distros (I started playing on Endavour OS on this PC, installed Fedora And Started Agian, Both using Steam Flatpak) My Game Save Got Completely Wiped.
Would Get An Error About Not Being Connected Online/ The Servers Are Down If You Try Play Online
Most of my Controller Worked But Dpad didnt for some reasons, everything else was fine. Locked 60fps, even with firefox, discord etc in the background. Uplay worked fine + i could sign in but i had issuses with multiplayer as noted. GNOME screenshots worked and it was a good experience overall.
Can't connect to Ubisoft
Used a crack to bypass Uplay/Ubisoft Connect DRM, don't do this if you plan on playing the online levels
The game renders a black bar on the bottom of the screen, to fix this, go into the settings, change the resolution to something other than native, and then switch it back to native resolution. Bit of a pain to do on every launch but it works
Followed @n@rc0's steps
Ubisoft Connect crashes now
You can't play online anymore
When I installed it on Steam Deck by following @n@rc0's instructions, it finally work without issue. Came back to play it about a month or two later and I don't know what Ubisoft did, but Ubisoft Connect had some sort of update, and now I get an error message that says:
Ubisoft Connect has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down. Crash dump at "C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/crashes"
On desktop mode it looks like Ubisoft Connect tries to open when you launch the game, but just can't. You get the same error message. Launching Ubisoft Connect itself through Steam works just fine, but the game just continues to give that error message. Not sure what to do, but hopefully someone else can figure out it. Good luck.
Got the Ubisoft Launcher to install/work, but game itself crashes upon start.
Couldn't get it to run at all. Got a refund.
I was pleasantly suprised to see the game (and associated DRM) install and run without issue.
Either it's been fixed upstream, or with GE 8-4, but it runs well now. It correctly installs Ubisoft Connect, as opposed to uPlay, and boots in-game just fine. Ubisoft Connect doesn't close upon exiting the game, however, and must be closed manually, which is only a very minor inconvenience.
4 Watts
The first time I got the game to start, the display was somehow zoomed in. I suspect this is due to the Ubisoft launcher having a smaller window size which triggers display scaling. Setting the resolution to another one and then back to the Deck's natrive 1280x800 fixed it. Simply restarting the game might fix it too.
With all the tinkering, I don't know whether any of the wine/protonticks tweaks were actually necessary. The game (or rather the launcher) kept on crashing on startup with "unrecoverable error". Upgrading to a recent version of GE-Proton finally fixed that.
Used to install Ubisoft Connect
This game has two Issues that make it unplayable out of the box.
- The game forces you to use Uplay, Ubisofts old launcher. But it does not work, you can't sign in. The Solution: use Protontricks (https://flathub.org/de/apps/com.github.Matoking.protontricks) to uninstall Uplay, Download Ubisoft Connect, use the file browser in Protontricks to launch the Ubisoft Connect installer and install it.
- Now the game should launch the Ubisoft Connect launcher instead of uplay. But you might run into the issue, that Ubisoft Connect can't connect to the internet. To "fix" this issue you have to enable MTU (max transfer unit) Probing in your network config. On my system the following workaround did not work with systemd-networkd, only with networkmanager. Create /etc/sysctl.d/90.override.conf, and write "net.ipv4.tcp_mtu_probing = 1" in to the file. Reboot and the login to Ubisoft Connect should work.
THANKS UBISOFT!
"Uplay broken login" blocks first launch
Issue launching the game
vcrun2020 d3dcompiler_47 after that use Run on prefix to select UplayInstaller.exe to install uplay installer after installer don't run uplay. quit en restart this should start uplay properly. run any updares and choose run singleplayer. this start Legends properly.
Somehow, the game doesnt have D-Pads mapped
When first launched, the game doesn't start Ubi Connect patches, causing the game to fallback to old Uplay Launcher, which is no longer active, hardlocking you from starting the game
To fix old Uplay "Log in" pop-up, follow this instructions.
(If you have a Windows PC)
Step 1: Install the game on your regular PC and start the game
Step 2: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)
Step 3: Zip the folder "Ubisoft"
Step 4: Upload zipped folder to anywhere you want (i personally use Telegram)
Step 5: Go to Desktop Mode on Steam Deck and download the zipped folder you uploaded
Step 6: Install Rayman Legends on Steam Deck
Step 7: After you started the game, wait for the Uplay pop-up and then close the game
Step 8: Go to Dolphin (File Manager), unzip the file you downloaded and copy the "Ubisoft" folder
Step 9: Go to "~./local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/242550/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)" and rename "Ubisoft" to whatever you want (i renamed mine to "Ubisoft Backup")
Step 10: Paste the copied "Ubisoft" folder
Step 11: Open Rayman Legends again and enjoy the game :)
(If you only own Steam Deck)
Step 1: Go to Desktop Mode on Steam Deck
Step 2: Download Ubisoft Connect
Step 3: Right-click on the .exe and select "Add to Steam"
Step 4: Open Steam and locate the .exe you just added on your Library
Step 5: Execute the .exe on the Library and just go "next-next-finish"
Step 6: Log with your Ubi Account and close the app
Step 7: Open Dolphin (File Manager)
Step 8: Go to "~./local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/"
Step 9: Locate the last created folder and open it
Step 10: Inside this folder, go to "pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)"
Step 11: If you didnt find a folder named "Ubisoft", you're in the wrong folder. If you found it, then open "Ubisoft" folder and copy the directory path
Step 12: Install Rayman Legends on Steam and boot it up
Step 13: After Uplay screen appears, close the game
Step 14: Go to "~./local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/242550/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)" and rename "Ubisoft" to whatever you want (i renamed mine to "Ubisoft Backup")
Step 15: Now right-click inside "Program Files (x86)" and select "Create New -> Link to File or Directory". On "Name for new link" field, write "Ubisoft" without quotes, and on "File or directory to link to" just paste the previously copied directory path". After that, you should see a new folder name "Ubisoft".
Step 16: Open Rayman Legends and enjoy your game :)
Old Uplay login screen pops up and it doesn't work when you try to login. You can't play in offline mode as it wants you to login first.
Unplayable.
uplay is broken
uplay starts but I wasn't able to register an account. I tried registering it online, but then I still clouldn't log in due to the "There seems to be a problem with your internet connection" error.
Couldn't launch from Heroic Games Launcher
Installed fine. Tried with Proton Experimental and Proton 7.0-6. Tried in Desktop and Game mode.
work perfect, 60 fps
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
The parameter PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
is needed to successfully run the UPlay launcher.
Not working from heroic launcher
i installed perfectly but it does not work
Install Fails the First Time, Launches Normally Afterwards
The game plays well, and already has community controller profiles. It will error out on the first launch, let it go through the entire installation until that point. Launching a second time will allow you to get into the game normally.
The game does not appear to suspend properly, with audio continuing to play in the gaming launcher.
First time launch gave error message. Works fine if you start it again after that.
After an error during first install (uplay), running it again worked flawlessly.
An error popped up running it for the first time, I think it was something to do with uplay. Running the game again worked fine though.
The only way it could better if it didn't requre uplay.
gamemoderun %command%
works fine enough, however you might experience troubles with setting up uplay/ubisoft connect.
alt-tabbing sometimes doesn't work, after going in and out of sleep mode i suppose
challenges (online mode) doesn't work, tells you that you are offline
works fine enough, though you might have some troubles setting up uplay but i just had to quit and launch the game a second time
The only thing is that I couldn't register the game at Ubisoft connect using proton. I had to resort to a windows PC to do so.
