The game runs perfectly, install and play, no lags and with multiplayer working
I dont think the average user is going to edit the registry with a text editor just to play risk.
Game did not map mouse correctly, cursour was seen by the game to be ~500 pixels higher than it was. This was fixed by switching to windowed mode. However the setting for windowed mode is at the bottom of settings, where i cannot click.
Manually edited the user.reg file in ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1128810/pfx/user.reg This line must end in a 3 "Screenmanager Fullscreen mode_h3630240806"=dword:00000003
Works as good as on windows. My only problem is it takes more time than other programs to start but I can live with that.
Plays well, but no Full Screen
Game freezes any time I try to set it to full screen. Works fine in Windowed and Borderless Window.

I managed to fix the Steam Initialisation error (Code 962) by making sure that RISK was installed on the same hard drive as Steam, it was installed on a Ext4 hard drive, and in my case I played around with different proton versions until I finally got the game to launch.

Everything works perfectly, but you can still deal with the full screen problems.
Weird glitches, and Alt+Tab kills the game for me.
The game had this werid glitchy view at the top.
The game would go black when I used Alt-Tab.
No issues noticed in more recent Proton releases.
Great experience with friends.

Can't refocus the game after Alt+Tabbing & the game fails to remember the fullscreen setting.
Rejoining a game after crashing or acidentally quiting is only sometimes given as an option. When rejoining the game will not progress.

Works good (in window mode)
When fullscreen is active Alt-Tab hangs game.
First in game - go to settings and enable window mode.
Played with Proton 6.3-8.
The game works fine out the box. Only change from fullscreen to windows mode and force fullscreen on kde options!
Black screen when Alt+Tab. The solution was making the game windowed and "faking" full screen with a kde option as other user report.
Could not login with Steam
Upon starting the game, an error appears saying it couldn't login. When clicking the "Login with Steam" button, another error appears saying "Unable to connect to Steam".
Throws error on sign in attempt after launch
Unable to sign into Steam or RISK Profile after launch, throws this error: "Unable to connect to steam, Please make sure that steam is running and that you are logged in. Error 962."
Unable to launch game - Immediately crashes
