performance drop on non-gaming pc

Mouse/Keyboard input results in frame drops. Only gamepad input works without issue.
Frame drops occur when moving the cursor or using a keyboard. Repeated input from either the mouse or the keyboard exacerbates the issue. This is not an issue with Proton/Wine but a bug in the game.

Worked for me out of the box with Proton 9.0-3.
When mapping inputs, the game seemed to have some kind of "ghost drift" (even without my controller plugged in). Mapping ended up being troublesome but everything else worked perfectly.
Remote Play Together worked perfectly.
There seems to be a bug with the last stage of the first "world" - it's not possible to finish it while on a widescreen resolution, it seems (it looks like that happens on Windows too, though).
Basically, the graphic is completely broken. I tried it with proton experimental and proton 9.0.3, nothing works.
Graphics are broken with proton 9.0-3

Works out of the box with proton experimental
It works perfectly fine, the game is smooth and everything runs as intended

Ran OOTB perfectly fine for me with Proton 9.0-3 No launch options or any tinkering needed, just enjoy.

Hellish Red Nightmare
Steam Tinker Launch
Completely unplayable. The main menu is a jarbled mess of misplaced sprites and red text. I've tried so many things from switching Proton versions and trying out the various Proton and DXVK suggestions posted in previous reports. Unfortunately, nothing as worked. Such a shame, this game is such peak. If anyone else can get it working, please post a report soon!

Works OOTB with an AMD RX 570 in Fedora 40, but tried before with a 1050 GTX in Pop Os and Fedora and it looked really bugged and red, like a creepypasta version.

everything is red
i will probably have nightmares tonight. icons and cutscences were fine, but the game itself was red.

Flawless experience in Debian 12 with Steam Flatpak
Peak game

Need to switch to 9.0-1, I get the garbled graphics out-of-the-box as preconfigured. Movies and audio are fine as preconfigured so that can be deceptive.
Works fine out-of-the-box

Without fixed hame has graphics bugs don't understand list as Playable should be unsupported

Garbled graphics.
Tried Proton Experimental (broken graphics), also versions 8 (same) and 7 (green screen). Otherwise game runs fine with no mods necessary. Unfortunately this game is unplayable for me.

Fixed by downloading "DirectX Redist (June 2010)", running the .exe and having it extract into a seperate and empty folder, then through Proton, ran "DXSETUP.exe".
Also a problem on Windows. Game seems to only work with Xinput controllers. Fixed by using Steam to read controller as keyboard inputs.
Worked perfectly OOTB
Save data is deleted when the game is uninstalled. No Steam Cloud support.

Steam version runs otb!
the game runs well even without gamemode on steam. Couldn't get it to work with heroic or lutris however
Had to map the controls in the in-game settings.
Like many others I had a green or black screen on launch the followed by broken graphics, the first many times I tried to launch the game. After trying every Proton version available, I reset everything to default settings and launched the game again, this time the Steam Deck installed DirectX by itself on launch and the game has been running almost perfectly since.
The only issue I have notices is some slowness here and there, even though the CPU ang GPU barely use 10%.

Try my launch options and see if you can get it to run smoothly. You will have to download gamemode though as far as I am aware though.
Some of the map graphics don't show properly.
Had to map the controls in the in-game settings.
Minor graphical issues and controller set up aside, it's a decent experience on Deck, just not perfect.

Added dgvoodoo "d3d9.dll" file to improve performance and visual glitches with NVIDIA GPU
Fixed with dgvoodoo
on AMD, no additional configuration required for perfect gameplay.
Proton 4.11-13 fixed missing graphics, crashes, and audio issues
Wind effects in second world are slightly higher than normal
Seems to be working fine out of the box.
Apart from some missing graphical entries (sometimes, not always) game seems to play great. Local multiplayer works fine
Missing graphical objects on some levels, on some playthroughs
Works perfectly out of the box, xbox one controller picked up right away.
I did not have any problems. I didn't try co-up but single player works as it should
Works perfectly, no problem detected.

The Games runs perfectly with Proton 6.3 or 6.12-GE.
Proton Experimental has slowdown issues for me. But 6.3-5 or 6.12-GE-1 run just fine.

Running this game on a Lenovo Thinkpad X230
I've tried running this game on Proton 6.3-5 and 5.13-6 and doesn't run. This game runs perfectly fine on Proton 5.0-10.
The initial screen is broken and the graphics is distorted. The game cannot be started from there.
One tile of running water disappeared and on the first flying level a bug occurred making my character got invisible.
I haven't tried setting up the controller on the Steam's settings yet.
A few slowdowns
