Install the multi-threaded fix to improve the game's stability: https://github.com/xatornet/GridMTFix/tree/SteamOS
If you experience game crashes when your car or the opponents car gets wrecked, disable Steam Overlay.
if you're using Grid Xtra mod do not equip custom sponsors as they will crash your game when changing cars or when viewing race results after completing a tournament.

I need continued testing no audio latest experimental fails to launch at all no audio but game is completely playable
Game locked to 940x720
more testing needed help me community
Worked perfectly on Steam Deck on max settings. Automatically detected Deck as Xbox gamepad.

6.0-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Quitting via fullscreen could crash the game and prevent you from accessing your desktop resulting in needing to find a hard way to kill the process or shut down the system via a power button shortcut.
Occasional slowdowns in some areas while racing unsure if it was related to any precaching of shaders.
HD 6990 doesn't have Vulkan,
protontricks 12750 galliumnine then copy the d3d9-none.dll to game folder. then cp ~/.steam/steamapps/compatdata/12750/pfx/drive_c/windows/system32/d3d9-nine.dll ~/.steam/steamapps/common/Grid/d3d9.dll
I've played with 1280x720 windowed, 4xAA, and some tweeks in cfg file to remove some orange bloom. without gallium CPU can't run thee game higher than 30fps with everything on low
CPU work hard to keep +55 FPS, GPU1 still in <40% use. No GPU2 use at all.
Online rank seem to work fine.

The game does not supports high resolution out of the box. This guide will help: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1644135564
Only fixed and low resolutions were available, does not make sense to even try further using ultra-wide monitor.

By default the game was crashing when loading a race. Seems there may be some issues with the number of threads on modern CPUs so adding the following to the launch options fixed the game for me:" taskset -c 0-3 %command% -novirtual " Also a known issue is with 64bit Windows which is fixed with the "-novirtual" parameter. Other issues might be resolvable using the general Windows fixes at: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Race_Driver:_Grid#Issues_fixed

The game would not start in my native resolution. I deleted a line in hardware_settings_restrictions.xml which fixed it. (It seems to be a problem with the game on windows too)

Game crashes in main menu.

Tested on HP EliteBook 1040 G1; 1366x768 resolution, Ultra-Low graphics preset (all options Off/Low/Ultra-Low, based on availability). No workaround needed. No errors seen.

Seems fine. Didn't have the crash on resolution change like another user.

Starts and runs very well, but randomly crashes to desktop.

Wont start

Works completely nice with default settings. But, on custom resolution game crashes on launch.

Steam client freezes trying to start the game

Crashes while loading a race

Needed to change hardware requirements file to enable 1920x1200 resolution, works, but sometimes crashes with "page fault on write access"

Cannot return to game after alt tab, enabling higher resolutions (1920 x 1080) caused a pink screen. Setting aspect ratio to 16:9 appears to break sound permanently, even after changing back and restarting. Game crashes when attempting to actually play
