55-94 FPS on Linux with RTX 3060 Ti, same on Windows with Nvidia 1070 Ti (my old video card)
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
have bugs while changing screen resolution
lags aevery seconds
can be infinite loading in the game, not so often, I rarely happen, but I have seen a few times, although my friends have more of this on linux than me

Sometimes during gameplay my mouse would leave the game window, and wander of onto my second monitor. where I wold leftclick whatever I have there at the mommenent.
Halve of the time I could no longer press space to respawn, and would have to manualy click the Respawnbutton with the mouse, randomly the other halve it worked again, just for it to stop working again at a given time.

Sometimes audio crackles, usually right before the game locks up the entire system which happenes sometimes
Sometimes the lighting can be glitched on certain parts of certain maps, happens pretty rarely
Mouse input is often less responsive than it should be, can be sometimes inaccurate, beyond 125Hz mouse polling rate its unplayable due to missed inputs. Sometimes mouse key bound weapons including on the scroll wheel click do not register, if middle click scrolling is enabled in KDE you can't look around for the duration of the middle mouse button being held down. DirectX Input sometimes seems slightly more responsive than Raw Input. The cursor will disappear in menus after a match regardless of settings, alt-tabing restores it.
Runs well often except when it doesn't, its pretty unpredictable, there are random frame drops and stutters sometimes, even when there arent it often feels less responsive than Windows, other times it runs perfectly. Often like 20-30 FPS slower than Windows. 3440x1440 Everything Ultra except High textures 90% res scale, lowering settings does not improve performance, in fact it can often lower it a lot. Alt-tabbing can sometimes lower performance in-match. Performance sometimes seems to tank after like 30+ mins of play, restarting the game usually fixes it.
Sometimes ping is higher than on Windows, issues could be due to performance or networking issues with Proton, either way same end result the game is always online so impossible to know for sure.
I've been testing it back to back with Windows nearly daily for 4 months, Proton 9.0.3/4 seems to work best most of the time, older wont run, many versions of GE ran significantly worse, GE9-21 seems okay but more issues than 9.0.3 just like Experimental. Tried various launch commands which didn't seem to do anything. Various driver versions, NVidia closed kernel modules without GSP performs the best, X seems to run a bit better but sometimes I had slightly better results on Wayland. Definitely much better than the slideshow I had last time I tried, I can put up with some issues, I know the game well enough a slight stutter is not the end of the world, I can at least play it on Linux at all now instead of being forced to reboot but it's definitely not a flawless and especially reliable experience. It also seems to have gotten worse with time, I had it working well after like the first ~2 weeks or so, ~70+% near identical performance, rare stutters, meanwhile now it runs well like ~35% of the time? Way less near perfect, way more random frame drops, random input lag, etc. All within the same game update so I think it's Proton/driver/linux/etc that screws with it.

Completly unplayable, stutters every few seconds
Custom game worked without any issues

It runs just like Windows on my machine (Fedora 40, KDE Plasma, Radeon VII, 32gb RAM, Ryzen 3900X).
It runs exavtly the same as Windows on my machine.
The only minor issue is the tick box to prevent the introcuction video when the game starts doesn't seem to turn it off. Also it took a few minutes to compile the vulcan shaders the first time.
Works Great
It sometimes crashes after Alt-Tab

the game is smoother than on the same system with Windows. tested on two different system.

play many games in ranked mode, training with friends, etc. no problem.

Mouse cursor disappears if directx input method is selected. Use raw input ingame.

Previously worked flawlessly, but now getting a Vulkan error.
gamescope -w 1920 -h 1080 -W 1920 -H 1080 -f --force-grab-cursor %command%
Not sure what changed, but about a week or two ago the game was working perfectly. I now get this error every time I try to launch the game: https://ibb.co/C8R2bWD

Works perfetcly out of the box
No launch options needed.

Was only able to play 1 game, crashed twice on startup, once while loading into a match
Frequent crashes
On crash 2/3 times it crashed my entire steam deck.

Not really an issue, but raw mouse input would lag a lot with DA v3. Had to use the default direct X one
I encountered error 104 upon launching the game. Apparently, my dns resolver couldn't resolve this prod-obt-lovecraft-1-shared-eds-agent.quakeapi.com
abomination of an address. Switched to the ISP one and everything worked

Enjoyable like you it would be on Windows, with the right customisation of course (used Proton 8.0-4 works fine)
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
If you call the cursor disappearing a significant bug then yes, did not try newer Proton versions though, so it might be gone.
Was able to enjoy it like a Windows user, even better.
The cursor will disappear for some reason with my config if take it out of the Window without Alt + Tabbing, before it used to crash to the desktop, but now it has improved leading me to think that it will be gone soon.
A shooter like no other, in the ages of badly optimised titles this 2017 era wonder is what you should opt for no matter your sill level. This game has gained players over the time I played it and that is really nice to see. CS:GO players in particular should consider switching if they do not like the way CS2 handles performance. Playing Quake Champions Quadding everyone on Linux, the devs actually care which is really cool to see, but we need more and more players to make them keep the servers up. One of the funnest games to play with your friends, especially making tournaments is really cool too! QUAKE FOREVER!!!
The game launches, but gets stuck on a black screen.

Appears to function just as well as it does on Windows, with at most minor adjustments to graphics quality.
Very slight slowdowns, possibly fixed by adjusting graphics settings compared to Windows.
Played with bots, but the game makes no distinction between bot and non-bot matches.

gamescope --fullscreen --force-grab-cursor --steam -w 1920 -W 1920 -h 1080 -H 1080 -- %command%
Voicelines from my champion occasionally stutter or are cut off. No other audio issues.
No worse than on Windows. (Matchmaking is quirky and netcode is flawed, but this is also the norm on Windows)
(Non-tinker is only not recommended if you have more than one monitor!)
Ever since a recent update, having the wrong mouse input mode in the settings no longer causes crashes.
I needed to use gamescope in the launch options to make the game play nice with multiple monitors on Plasma 5 Wayland. (the resolution-related parameters can be changed to suit your own monitor.)
Specifically, gamescope stops the mouse cursor from leaving the game window without an alt-tab. This is important because the game unlocks the cursor from the game window whenever your champion is dead during a match, only to re-lock it as soon as you respawn. In most modes, you only stay dead for a few seconds, during which you can easily move your mouse to another monitor by accident.
If your mouse isn't over the game when you respawn, the game will fail to re-lock the mouse correctly, causing lots of problems. (Not just the mouse cursor becoming capable of leaving the window while you're trying to aim in a fight, but also this caused the mouse cursor to become invisible in all of the game's menus!)
Also the default graphics options are stupid and caused bad framerates out of the box; definitely change them before you play
The game worked on Windows, but on Linux, through Proton Experimental, it shows a black screen and then crashes.

gamemoderun %command%
Cause of previous crashing was figured out, make sure DirectX Input is NOT turned on, make sure it's on raw input.
loses cursor focus sometimes while tabbing out
Broke with the latest update. Gets to warning screen and crashes.

Well the game works perfectly, runs like a charm. Stable fps, no errors, without configuration just works.

gamemoderun %comand%
Some minor stutters, nothing to heavy. Works great
Just works.

gamemoderun mangohud %command%
The gane sadly lacks a large player base, at least the bots are good enough.
I was able to play for extended periods with other players and bots, without experiencing performance issues or crashes. Sadly the game only hovers around 500 player on average.

Works like a charm on Proton 8.0.2. I didn't test Experimental but it should work there as well.
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Some stutters.
Works OOTB just fine.
gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
At first, the game wasnt launching at all, and the logs were showing this error : "FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/611500", so I removed this same folder :
rm -r ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/611500
Then launching the game recreated a folder and it worked well.
I stuggled a lot to have 60 FPS, it now works perfectly.
Tried Proton Experimental and GE 7-21, but only GE 7-51 had some good results.
It also seems that launching with the command "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1" makes me loose around 15 FPS.
