Works very good, although getting my old save data in was a bit of a hassle, though I figured it out eventually.
Steam Cloud is not supported. You must manually move the files from Windows' C:/Users/username/Documents/Trackmania/
folders Profiles
and Scores
to Linux's steam/steamapps/compatdata/11020/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/TrackMania/
. Do not attempt to rename the files, as they will not be recognised by TrackMania. You will now be able to enter into your old profile.

Install went well. There is the minor issue of a black screen on startup (presumably to check the internet), but if you survive that it functions as if it's native to Linux.

Unable to launch
Get's stuck on Running install script () and then crashes.
Had no problem. Flawless out of the box

when i launch the game for the first time, it prompted me that there is an update. i click download, it started to download a setup.exe file, i didnt run that executable, and launched the game again, it prompted me the update once again, i clicked to no to not update. game launched and ran with no issues.
Flawless experience. It's actually possible to update the game by using wine and enabling "show dotfiles" in winecfg.

Works pretty well ootb so far. Controller is detected instantly (when active on launch) and can be used without any problems.
- It can be that the Game won't launch at all (start 'Play' and instantly closes)
- Restarting Steam (just Exit and Re-Launch), then works without anything changed
works great ootb
It works pretty well as far as I can remember
Worked perfectly out of the box!
perfect

Game will say you need a update when launching, ignore it.

Aside from the mouse issues it all works just fine
I could not click anything with my mouse. The game knew where my mouse was, but didn't understand clicks.
Gamescope fixes the issue.

IMRPORTANT: When you open the game for the first time, it will ask you for an update. You don't have to update the game.

If you're using a GPU that doesn't support Vulkan, use the launch option above. If your GPU supports Vulkan, you don't need to use the launch option above.

Works perfectly with no need for any tinkering, I would suggest following a guide on how to update the game, and perhaps also patch it with the competitive patch from "Donadigo"

Functions as it does on Windows.
I'm limiting the framerate as otherwise the game runs uncapped, utilising more resources than necessary. I need to use Proton 7.0-6 as on Proton 8.0-2 and GE-Proton8-6 the game fails to launch, either exiting without opening a window, or showing as running in Steam without opening a window.
Works as expected out of the box, with zero issues.

When first open ask me for update, just say no and game will open without problems. Recommended
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
So far so good
Command is necessary for my old gpu. If you have problems that game barely opens and close immediately, try the command
Crashed a few times, but not often enough to be an issue.
Only played single player mode.
I was able to get a similar gaming experience as in Windows. It only needs a bit more tinkering.
The game was crashing except right after install on Proton Experimental, switching to 7.0-5 fixed the issue.
Overall the game runs fine, maybe a bit slower than on Windows but not a huge difference. Definitely worth an install.
When trying to launch the settings, it wants me to update to a newer version, which can't be done because it only gives and .exe file, but also it can't perform the graphics performance test But overall you can change every settings, but with annoying pop-ups every time
Works almost flawlessly, if it wouldn't be for the settings
Works great, dont forget settings.
after i tab back in sometimes i have to unplug and plug my controller back in for it to work.
Dont forget to launch the games settings, I was wondering why the graphics were so bad before I saw the option at launch.

A lot of compatibility issues exist on windows as well. This game has buge compatibility issues on both platforms. If 5.xx doesn't work for you with these launch options, try proton 4.xx, it has no audio but sometimes works better. thirdly, lutris.net offers a great install script, if everything else fails, but you won't have it on steam.

Best Windows-native game i've played on Linux so far
Multiplayer works very great, no issues at all
Everything works really well, and the game itself is really great. No tweaking or editing game config file. Multiplayer works well.
OOB experience without any problem
I did join multiple of the custom servers (as there aren't any official anymore) without any problem

Leaving game minimized shrinks screen size; attempting to leave also closes game, but continues playing music
Can't seem to keep a stable 60 FPS during busy sections even at lowest settings
Runs great OOB
Runs great as long as you don't need network features
Could not connect to the network
changed graphics preset to veryhigh
shadows are wrong, the sky was blindingly white, the car was emmisive (how)
still playable though.
Works on PC no problems at all
Have fun!
No patching required. It just works.
