One day, the sadness will end.

Launcher opens and says it's updating but in a few seconds the game crashes without any error message
It works but performance fix would be nice to have
Minor stuttering. Despite FPS is always 60, sometimes it feels like it's a bit lower
The game loads. When entering a match, an error occurrs: The client is not running the anti-cheat, or has failed the anti-cheat authentication Then I try to return to the match, I was able to do this despite the error Connection to server timed out (code:net). See ea.com/unable-to-connect for additional information But then after a several seconds I got disconnected from the match with an error Unable to connect - reservation timed out and after this I cannot reconnect to the match. It seems to me it is an anti-cheat issue

On Proton 7.0.2, I couldn't connect to an online game due to anticheat. However, on GE-Proton (v. 7-15) and Proton Experimantal I was able to.
Error on startup: "Bad serial given in setup" needs workaround. Thanks to the guy below me, this instruction works just fine. Here it is:
- In linux Terminal (replace XXXX for your KEY in Steam) echo XXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX | perl -ne 's/-//g; tr/IO/10/; for $i (0..2) { $res = 0; for $j (0..7) { $res += index("0123456789ABCDEFGHJKLMNPRSTVWXYZ", substr($_, $i * 8 + $j, 1)) << (5 * $j); }; printf("%010x", $res); }; print("\n");'
Get a HEX key YYYYYYYYYYYYYY
2. Add line KEY"=hex:YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY in file ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/65780/pfx/system.reg like this: [Software\Wow6432Node\bohemia interactive studio\arma] 1598372794 #time=1d67afc7fdd1444 "KEY"=hex:YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY,YY "main"="D:\home\user\.local\share\Steam\steamapps\common\ARMA Gold"
3. Launch the game
However, for me system.reg file belongs to /home/%USERNAME%/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/65780/pfx directory.
Works great. Anyway I recommend installing Arx Libertatis port on top of the Steam version
DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 gamemoderun %command%
Sometimes an NPC repeats a word twice.
I play with DS4. To get it working I chose Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows) in Options Customize menu. By default all controls are mapped correctly. Also controller is available after you choose your game profile with KBM. Thanks to the reports below I found out "PROTON_NO_D3D10=1" is required otherwise you just get a black screen after the opening cinematic video. Limited frame rate to 60fps with "DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60", otherwise high frame rates cause you to die when performing a leap of faith, this can also be fixed by enabling vsync instead. This also seems to be an issue on windows.
Origin installs. Then an error windows appears. Once it's closed, the game starts with the loading screen, but not any further.
Error window: Please update Windows Detected Windows version 7601. The required Windows version is : 19041 or later. Please update Windows
PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% without thic command the game immediately crashes if resolution is set to Full HD
From time to time it crashes
The game doesn't save controls customizations after closing.
Works well out of the box
TV doesn't work. It's just black screen. (It doesn't affect the story)
When run with default Proton 7.0-6 (or 7.0-5, not sure) in-game mouse navigation won't work as well as videos and who knows what else. Just download latest GE and enjoy! P.S. Nevermind FPS drops in Chapter 12, it's a common game issue.
The Game works perfectly during the entire playthrough including cutscenes.
%command% -sdlaudiodriver pipewire
Won't start no matter what launch options and Proton versions I tried.
After a few seconds the game closes itself.
I've tried different launch option mentioned before me and different versions of Proton (Default, Experimental, Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1), no success. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm using the latest Ubuntu since I see no reports here from people who launched DOOM on Ubuntu 21.10
As many other users have mentioned, mouse input causes lots of lags. Switching between Vulkan/OpenGL/DirectX 11 has no effect
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% -w 1920 -h 1080
Out of the box the game launches as a black screen that closes itself after a few seconds. PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% -w 1920 -h 1080 suggested by the reports below mine works just fine
There were artifacts during the prologue. Now I'm on chapter 5, the graphics are ok.
Rarely FPS drops to 25 - 30
Native version works great with mouse and keyboard. Haven't tried playing it on controller or with Proton.
Follow this guide to run the game through EGS reddit com/r/linux_gaming/comments/vi91n6/guide_on_how_to_get_fall_guysepic_working_under
changed ~/FallGuys/FallGuys_client.ini
If a game update makes itself unplayable, change the ini files once again
Works well. No crashes during my watch including multiplayer.
To play online replace FlatOut2.exe with the one which connects to OpenSpy instead of GameSpy (not a Proton issue, applies to any OS)
I've played six matches on the arena. No performance/connectivity issues.
I was able to change text language but not audio language. Not sure if it can be considered as a bug. Maybe this is a natural behaviour
Downloaded mfc140u dll from pt.dll-files
Card search with Cyrillic still doesn't work.
In order for the game to launch, I had to download mfc140u.dll For some reason, mfc140.dll didn't work out for me
gamemoderun PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_D3D11=1 %command%
mouse cursor works but it is unsmooth in menu
Sometimes the game crashes. Most of the time it happens when changing in a clothing store
Unplayable on newer versions of Proton
The game won't launch.
Proton Experimental gives me the following Error windows: 1 - Failed to create DirectX 12 Device for the following Adapter: 2 - Failed to create DirectX 12 Device for the following Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 While on Proton Default there are no such messages. Simply not starting.
Can't connect to an online game due to EAC.
gamemoderun %command%
I guess one of the latest updates broke it. A month ago all was good when playing with Experimental Proton.
Works fine
Every time it runs on my secondary monitor no matter what in game display settings are set. It can me moved with a hotkey
The game occasionally crashes on the thirteenth storyline mission (I've Got the Power). I don't know why but only when I'm flying a helicopter. On the other side, it crashes not every time I'm in a chopper
Sometimes ESC key is not recognised. For me Alt-tab solves the problem.
Most of the time I was having about 40-60 fps, sometimes lower. On max graphics settings.
In order to play without Games for Windows - LIVE you'll need xlive.dll. I got it from PCGamingWiki
Crashed once when I loaded into the last mission
This game is very good and smooth.
The only difference compared to Proton version is that it allows to choose resolution. Nevertheless, the native version runs in the correct resolution
If you want to play with mods I made a guide (using protontricks) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3107237892
Runs perfectly out of the Box. Finished it twice.
Works with Proton as well but I didn't play with it much cause my saves are on native version.
Finished the game with no issue. There was a report stating a DualShock 4 couldn't get recognised. I had no problems with playing with DS 4
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -onethread is required, otherwise the game closes to an error during start
This game runs flawlessly
Scroll wheel wouldn't change weapons.
Crashes during trying to sea tenant for my first building
Mouse icon flickering
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 gamemoderun %command%
During a match fps is between 10 and 30
Anticheat issues
All I managed to see is BattleEye Launcher window saying 00:40:53: Starting BattlEye Service... 00:40:54: Failed to initialize BattlEye Service: Driver Load Error (31). For some reason when switched to Proton Experimental even that window is absent.
alt-tabbing crashes the game. Just run it in Windowed fullscreen
Hangs every time I enter a new match.
Runs perfectly with luxtorpeda and xatrix patch Otherwise throws error: Application load error 5: 0000065434
The Game works. I have beaten it.
Making a new save doesn't work unless you name it with a dot (.) at the end. I put it here because I'm not sure whether the problem exist on native version. Quicksaving works fine.
Runs absolutely smooth
When alt-tabbed back into the game it becomes an unplayable black screen (I haven't found complains about this from Windows users)
The game closes without spawning any window
I've tried the launch option PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 with Proton 5.0-10/5.13-5/Experimental, still to no avail. There is a possibility I miss some driver(s)
Runs as expected out of the box. I use Proton 5.13-5
The game runs at 20 - 30 FPS
Not a proton issue, but out-of-the-box resolution can't be changed
The game can't run
GeeGee starts, lets me in. Then BattleEye Launcher is trying to do something but soon it closes itself saying
13:37:48: Installing BattlEye Service...
13:37:49: BattlEye Service has been successfully installed.
13:37:49: Failed to initialize BattlEye Service: Driver Load Error (31).
GeeGee shuts too
There are known bugs but I haven't experienced any of them (during the full walk through) except the one I mentioned.
The only bug I got is a black screen (with the original audio) instead of the game intro.
The game immediately closes itself
Neither of the following tweakings could help. protontricks 200940 d3dcompiler_43 d3dx9_43 WINEPREFIX="$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/200940/pfx" wine "$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Sonic CD/directx/DXSETUP.exe"
The game runs with all desired settings.
Unfortunately, the game requires a controller and I don't have one. So I can say nothing about game experience and controller input
Runs in 800 x 600 only (Same thing on native version). If you're ok with that, the game is playable. I couldn't figure out how to make it fullscreen with dgVoodoo2.
Music is missing
Mouse moving causes lagging
Proton 8.0.4 - Crashes immediately when trying to launch. Proton Experimental/GE8-21 - doesn't crash but there isn't even a game's window
Requires a bit of tinkering. With it the experience is as smooth as it was this september before an update broke the game.
Native version is broken. It just doesn't start. With Proton I get to the main menu but everything is laggy.Switching to Linux runtime fixex the issue.
The game works great on OpenMW with installed mods from NexusMods. Default proton version does so as well.
For the record here are the mods from NexusMods I installed Official Plugins -1.0 Patch for Purists - 4.0.2 Better Dialogue Font - 1 Delayed DB Attack V2 - 2.1 Solstheim Rumor Fix - Fixed - Fixed - 1.0 Morrowind Optimization Patch - 14 Correct UV Rocks - 1.5 Project Atlas - 0.7.2 VSBR Vanilla style body replacer - 1.0 Weapon Sheathing - 1.6 OpenMW Containers Animated - 1.2.2 Graphic Herbalism - MWSE and OpenMW Edition - 1.04 Glow in the Dahrk - 3.0.3 More Detailed Places - 07.2016 Mountainous Red Mountain - 1
Works fine except the cutscenes. Install Media Foundation fix to be able to watch them
With Proton default version I kept getting Unexpected error f3c15 even before the main menu. Switching to experimental resolved the issue.
Rare drops of FPS down to 55 are notices. Worth mentioning, I've heard of the same issues on Windows
WINEDLLOVERRIDES=dinput8=b,n %command%
Changed dinput8 to a spoofing dinput8.dll from https://sites.google.com/site/tocaedit/files / dinput8-x360cev21.zip
I play with DualShock 4 controller, so I had to apply some twinkering in order for the game to recognize it. Without it, all good with playing on mouse/keyboard. Or with an Xbox controller, I suppose. So other reports say, I don't own one
Generally works flawlessly.
There are occasional stutters, especially on scene transitions. Some are almost imperceptibly tiny, while others freeze the screen for around one second before recovering.
Plays well, no problems
Beat the game with DualShock 4
Used this command to import save from The Walking Dead cp -r ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/207610/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My\ Documents/Telltale\ Games/The\ Walking\ Dead ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/261030/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My\ Documents/Telltale\ Games/The\ Walking\ Dead
runs great
Judging by Steam discussions F1 must invoke a minimal settings menu. For me F1 invokes key binding menu. Maybe it's a Proton issue. Not a big though cause gameplay is simple and there's not much to customize
Moving mousing causes serious frame hitching.
Deleted the *.con files in the music folder in order to start the game.
Window saying Warning(3, 1020, 143007) Abnormal game environment, please restart your computer and try again. appears, the game can't start
I played EGS version installed via Heroic Launcher.
