All great so far.
All great so far.
1080p, FSR 2.0, FXAA high, high settings and ultra on particles and visual effects. Awesome.

Intense frame drops in combat. Rectified with the NoParticlesExceptWeapons mod
Using DX12 makes the performance better. The performance issues are not always present.

Set left joystick to Flick Stick
Mods work too.

Some news screen text is hard to read but it isnt necessary to enjoy the actual game
not often (maybe 1 in 10 times opening the game) the game would not understand the input from my controller correctly and send the cursor in a similar but not perfect direction to where the analog stick was pointing. it doesnt last for very long though so was never really a problem.
despite very very minor controller issues it is a perfect game
Works out of the box
Tested with new Intel ARC B580, runs flawlessly smooth at 1080p, no special configs just start the game and thats it.

Solo missions are playable (the loading screen is extremely short) but online is sadly out of the question.

The game process hangs on loading screens, giving repeated "Steam is not responding" prompts with options to force quit or wait. It eventually loads into the Space Rig (lobby area), however joining online games loads too slowly to be feasible.
Once in-game, there are no performance hitches at all.
My setup seems to give similar issues with other Unreal Engine games, with varying consequences depending on how long they normally take to load.
If you've experienced problems like these and were able to solve them, I'd love a ping @wannas on the ProtonDB discord server!

There is currently a bug with Steam that degrades game performance significantly if you don't use the aforementioned launch arguements. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/11446
Be sure to use those optional arguements in the Properties menu of every game in Steam that isn't linux-native.

Performance degrades after a while, see added github links
The game runs perfectly after adding launch options as a workaround to fix the performance.

When enabled DX12
Do not enable DX12 in the settings or when starting the game

Works as a charm on proton-hotfix
Everything works perfectly out of the box, couldn't ask for a better experience

Have had to change the Proton version several times to find one that remained stable. For me, that's been 8.0-5. Game runs great since.
I do get the rare, occassional bug or oddity that usually is resolved with re-launching the game. At the worste, it required a reboot. But those have been few and far between. Game otherwise runs with zero issues.

After 30-40 minutes of playing the frametime max becomes 120ms with an average of 60ms making the game unplayable
Have tried using different proton versions be it GE or normal ones, lowering graphics settings but nothing has helped so far. The sad thing is this game used to work ootb.

When launching the game it loads in very slowly, I'll see a error in the terminal running steam. Sometimes I get a force quit/wait prompt.
Game loads in very slow, sometimes I'll be prompted with a "Steam" is not responding error and will be given a force quit option or a wait option.
In my terminal used to run steam I'll see this error - (wine:43970): GStreamer-Video-CRITICAL **: 21:18:32.561: gst_video_info_from_caps: assertion 'gst_caps_is_fixed (caps)' failed
Sometimes the wait option will allow me to load in, sometimes it will keep prompting the same window, its at every loading screen (launching, loading into a mission, loading back to base after a mission). The error steam shows in a terminal -
(wine:43970): GStreamer-Video-CRITICAL **: 21:18:32.561: gst_video_info_from_caps: assertion 'gst_caps_is_fixed (caps)' failed
I have a M.2 and Sata SSD I've tried the game on. I'm able to launch Marvel Rivals with no issues on my system. I've tried previous proton versions, it only made the game unlaunchable with infinite force quit/wait options.
In game it runs fine, but wow the loading screens are a gamble

Works perfectly as it is
Just intstall and click play! I were able to jump into random lobbies and play without a single issue.

Works completely fine with Proton GE, haven't tried just normal proton but it appears to work fine based on other reports!
Anything between 75-140 FPS, and some random choppiness / lack of smoothness.

Its fine, if you restart game every mission. And not, if you don't.
After ~30-40 min game suddenly drop FPS down to 50% for no reason. It happens on any Proton, distro, Wayland or X11. Need to restart game.
Devs, FIX THIS CRAP. Everything was fine, OTTB. What happened to you?
mangohud %command%

if game is freezing just disable vysnc and use wayland. other than that game is amazingly fast and smooth
you need to use off vysnc and use wayland. it helped my problem with alt tab freezing

--force-grab-cursor
DO NOT USE VYSNC IF YOUR GAME GETS FROZEN WHEN ALT TAB. CLOSE THE VYSNC ON GAMES SETTINGS AND THEN DONT FORGET THE APPLY THE CHANGES

Works perfectly OOTB
Submitting this just to replace my old irrelevant report.

-force-vulkan -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
Light Input lag, also the mouse was feeling laggy even when the FPS was above 120.
Was experiencing extremely FPS loss when looking on a specific direction, on multiplayer was way more worse. (Changed to older proton version)
The game was crashing frequently and i was experiencing waves of FPS drop for uknow reason.
If you're experiencing FPS no matching the feel of the scree or mouse, you can try Vsync, but it adds to your imput lag. I had no more imput lag after changing to Proton 7.0-6

Runs better on linux than windows
This game runs really well, way better than I thought. I switched about a week ago and was expecting to get a small dip in perf but actually got around 8% more fps compared to windows. Cool to see a game run better on linux than windows

Works right out of the box with Proton Version 9.
Runs better on Linux then it ever did on Windows.

Was getting a launch crash with the unreal crash screen until I switched to proton 8.0-5. Switching to dx12 fixed frequent frame dips and full system freezes. Fullscreen mode was just to be safe, may or may not be necessary for you.
Did have some network issues after switching to dx12, but restarting fixed the issue so it may be an unrelated fluke.
Perfect
Perfect out of the box.

40 Hz, v-sync in game, allow frame tearing, and no fps limit
Mostly just out-of-mission text. Little impact in-mission.
Unable to direct connect to other clients. Multiplayer must connect through relay servers (only noticeable when playing on a LAN with bad internet).

gamescope --nested-width 2560 --nested-height 1440 --nested-refresh 170 --steam --fullscreen --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
Played on Wayland with scaling, which is why I'm using gamescope.

Unpredicatable significant FPS drops are ruining harcore matches :(
As many people mentioned before, after couple of games FPS drops significantly. Rejoin squad or tinkering with Graphics Setting doesn't help, only restart of the game. Issue appeared in 2024.
