Semi-regular game freezing for a second when ray tracing is enabled.
Game runs perfectly. You may encounter stability issues if you use ray tracing.
Runs perfectly out of the box for me, although in a different installation of Arch I did have the feeling of a slight lack of smoothness (it was still enjoyable).
Proton 9.0-3 had issues where it would stutter and be unplayable, switching to experimental works flawlessly.
Runs perfectly fine out of the box
Just hit install and play.
Zero issues. Works as well as on Windows.
bad performance, idk why, playable tho!
Intro video doesn't play in full screen but smaller (it's just the devs logo, nothing relevant for Lore or gameplay)
Great game for playing on the deck. It fits perfectly. The game has an automatic graphics setter in the graphics menu which would set the deck perfectly for 60fps
gamemoderun %command%
-d3dll PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
Heavy texture stuttering/glitching if framerate goes below refresh rate
Very good considering I'm running Wayland + Nvidia, as long as I stayed above monitor refresh rate.
-d3dll PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1
Massive ammounts of artifacting when the framerate drops below refresh rate of display, gets worse the lower the framerate gets
Couldn't launch the game using x11. Had to sign out, switch to wayland, then it worked. After that I had to change my monitors refresh rate to something my system could maintain in game 100%, otherwise theres texture flashing.
If you're having issues on Fedora, switch to wayland, and change your settings or refresh rate so you can maintain it vsynced. If all other things are equal itll work fine.
-d3d11
Completed a few trials, played a lot of chess and arm wrestling
install visual c++ 2022
Il faut juste installer visual c++ je pense, ensuite aucun bidouillage
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr gamemoderun %command% -dx12
Nvidia flags were necessary, otherwise the game fell back on the CPU
The game seems to play just fine so long as I explicitly tell Proton not to hide my GPU. It otherwise uses my CPU, and performance tanks. Aside from this, I've not ran into any deal breakers. I have roughly 5 hours of playtime with friends that use Windows, and each run went as expected. No issues with textures or other graphical anomalies, both controller and keyboard input work, and audio has been perfectly fine.
The game installs without any issues but refuses to launch even when using Proton-GE or Proton Experimental
I've tried to use Proton-GE and Proton Experimental but the game refuses to launch
Doesn't work
Currently DX12 has artifacts, so switch to DX11.
Texture is flickering everywhere, it is still playable but it is a major annoyance.
Slightly worse perfomance compared to release, could run on 60 fps medium settings, now cant keep stable 60 fps on low.
Sadly they dont support linux desktop, so the issue will continue, all we can do is hope its magically fixed next patch.
Launches but then crashes shortly after
No longer works
-d3d11
I have 90 Hours of completley flawless gameplay. After the new update on October 26th for Program Courthouse, it no longer launches. It will sit there in Steam claiming it is launched but no Window will pop up and eventualy it crashes. I have tried Proton7 and it launches but cannot connect to Red Barrels Services. I tried re-installing, new proton versions, graphics driver reset and even contacted support only to be told I am screwed. Please Valve, do something with this. This game id Deck Verfied but won't work at all. I also tried Steam Flatpak to have the same results. All other games of mine work except for this. My launch options for -d3d11 are to keep it from running under d3d12 which causes major performance issues, I even tried disabling -d3d11 options to have the exact same issues. No launches. Borked!

On startup rarely faults for "detecting insufficient memory". Switching proton versions between launches resolves this temporarily.
With Proton default version I kept getting Unexpected error f3c15 even before the main menu. Switching to experimental resolved the issue.
runs absolutely flawlessly
The game is one of the best performers on the Steam deck. It works flawlessly. No issues. Doesn't feel like there is any limitation.
Controls to toggle microphone on Steam deck.
Games run flawlessly 17 hours and no issues.
Only used experimental as I noticed the FPS was sitting between 40-55. Experimental locks this to 60!
- Game crash when enabling ray tracing.
- Heavy stutters when loading into main menu at the launch of the game but goes away pretty quickly.
Game works flawlessly. The intro video does not care about your audio settings and will be loud no matter what.
Unexpected error f0c5
I tried GE-Proton7-9, Proton 8.0-2 and Proton Experimental but I keep getting this error, and I can't find any posts about f0c5 error.
Works without issues.
Some framepacing issues, noticed my fps was above 120fps but felt like it was dropping every turn I took.
Played with my partner, had zero issues connecting.
Pretty much perfect, some random stuttering from FPS drops that may not be noticable on Windows, but more than perfect enough for someone to play.
Works perfectly, even better than on windows
works perfectly fine (whereas on win10 i needed to launch it in win7 compatibility)
Windows runs better
Game plays just fine, very playable and enjoyable. Only gripe is that on Windows I get about maybe 200-250 fps on 1440p with minimal frame dips. On Arch I'm averaging about 130-160, with noticable frame dips. VSYNC on Linux causes noticable input lag. Overall, game is very very playable and enjoyable.
The game works perfectly with absolutely zero issues on Steam Deck.
Truly verified
This game runs perfectly out of the box at stable 60 FPS with default / recommended settings.
Works like it does on Windows. No long boot time either, it just works.
If you're a fan of the Outlast series and want to had doubts about moving to Linux since newer games don't tend to work on day 1, you're in luck because It seems like Proton has gotten to the point where you can run most new releases on day 1 perfectly.
Some text is relatively small, but nothing too crazy.
Played the game on low, crashed on normal settings so proton experimental was required. After that was settled I set the render resolution to about 90 and the game ran at a flawless 60 throughout my entire first area playthrough.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
It crashed a lot but after I changed it to dx11, it's fine
Perfeito
Consegui realizar a introdução no closed beta, passei um pouco mais de 2hs no multiplayer e tudo ocorreu conforme o esperado. Realmente eu não esperava um beta ser out-of-box.
Refresh rate 50
Slow performance in opening cutscene
Game did not work without proton enabled.
