OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x20000000 %command%
Game crashes on launch on systems with recent Intel CPU's because of a OpenSSL related bug in the game. The crashes can be fixed with launch option "OPENSSL_ia32cap=0x20000000 %command%". This bug is not Proton/Linux specific, Windows is affected too. See issue #5830 on the Proton github for more details.
Finished game without issues
Rare drops of FPS down to 55 are notices. Worth mentioning, I've heard of the same issues on Windows
Walking Sims like this aren't as poor with low frame rates as action games so the low FPS didn't ruin the game.
The game could at times drop down to as low as 18 FPS at times. Lowering AA from SSAA to SMAA helped but it could still go as low as 36 with this. The graphics don't warrant such as low FPS even on maxed out settings.
Proton 5.0-9 was used.
I didn't tweak anything, just installed and played.
No tweaks required
Game is running perfectly now with performance at around 50fps with Ultra settings at 2560x1600 resolution (this with ACO experimental drivers).Turning down AA from SMAA to FXAA bumps up the fps another 5fps.
Game works perfectly except performance is slightly worse than expected. However before the game was practically unplayable on Proton with fps dropping frequently below 30fps. Now the game is running at acceptable 30-45fps with maxed settings @1600p. Not sure if this is only because of improved Proton performance, or also because I upgraded from 2600Mhz to 3200Mhz RAM.
Performance is notably worse since a recent Proton update (not sure exactly which version I was on before). Dropping graphics settings a little and enabling VSync in-game restored acceptable framerates.
Game works perfectly now except performance is 20-35fps (the mouse jumping/floating issue was fixed in this Proton version). The strange thing is that changing quality settings and resolution barely make any difference to the performance.
Game works fine except that it has the Unity mouse jumping/floating downwards when pressing keys issue, as described on Github #1418. Framerate is also about 40% worse than on Windows.
everything works out of the box, but performance is not very good: at medium settings the game runs at 20-30 FPS
Runs flawlessly. On fullscreen, cursor is locked to the correct monitor which is usually not the case with Unity games.
I had the game maxed out at a stable 25-35 fps but if you check the official system requirements I should be getting 60fps (even with the overhead applied) but the game is not well optimized at all or should I say, Unity games in general or just Proton doesn't like them.
I also had extremely weird performance anomalies. Even though my fps was nowhere near where I should see stuttering, it "stuttered" while moving, it didn't matter if I was on the lowest or highest settings and remained the same weird phenomenon. I also had sequences where my fps suddenly tanked into single digits and I had to lower the settings just to get through, the worst offender was the 13th chapter with this. Outside of the "dream/flashback" sequences the performance remained consistent enough. Despite this I was able to finish the game nonetheless.
No glitches or bugs noticed. Frame rate was only 25-30 maxed out but was only 40 FPS on Windows.
