Worked **out of the box** on Steam 3.6.22. Controller layout from the community Worms Armageddon was selected by default after install.
Worms

regedit
Your own country flag in WormNet doesn't change properly, even when using LC_ALL launch options. By running regedit through protontricks, you can manually change the "Nation" key under "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\Geo" from 244 to whatever value you need. A list of values can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/intl/table-of-geographical-locations

HOST_LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 %command%
Played 3-4 games with friends, no problems with the connection or anything else

gamescope --nested-height 1080 --output-height 2160 --nested-refresh 144 --fullscreen --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
Refresh rate seemed to crash the game. Running it using gamescope seems to have fixed the issue.
Runs great. Using Variable Refresh Rate might cause some issues, so gamescope is recommended. The use of --force-grab-cursor
is required if using gamescope.

Works perfectly out of the box.
Initially starting the game on the start menu, it only runs on windowed, but when you start a game it runs on full screen just fine.
Works perfectly

This game has worms, but runs great!
Works great

Occasional issue with XFCE taskbar, but otherwise perfect.
- I use XFCE. At the main menu, the taskbar is sometimes on-top of the game.
- This usually goes away once you actually load into a match, but sometimes you have to Alt-Tab a few times.
- Not game-breaking, just mildly annoying at times.
- Played "LAN" using SoftEther VPN client.
- No issues playing with a mix of both Windows and other Linux/Proton players.
- Works perfectly.
gamescope -h 1080 -H 1080 -r 144 -f -- %command%
Without gamescope
, the game runs great but only in window mode. If you want fullscreen, use gamescope
.
Default Proton works fine, but I ran into persistent flickering moving between options in the main menu. Proton 4.11-13 fixed that.
changed dpad to control character motion instead of stick
flickering moving between menus on default proton
Turn on wine tweaks. Game by default will be windowed but can be fullscreened.
Turn based mayhem with worms. In style.
Works just like it did in high school. We're talking 1999 here!
Classic 2D Worms with very high skill-ceiling and great gameplay. Good choise for casual and hardcore players alike.
Game goesin small windowed mode in main menu. That's okay. In game itself you will get full res fullscreenmode.
Work just as good as on Windows.
Work just as good as on Windows.
If you have problems with launching it with recent versions of Proton, try 4.11-13. In case if you want to just this game run on older version of Proton go to Properties > Compatibility > Check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play Compatibility Tool" > choose Proton 4.11-13. 7.0-4 didn't worked for me.

Не знаю должно ли так быть, но меню игры/входа в онлайн лобби в маленьком окошке
Онлайн заходит
Запускается прекрасно
Works out of the box, perfect
Works perfectly out of the box!

Works straight out of the box. No tweaks were required for my config.
Played entire deathmatch campaing without any issues whatsoever. Played on WormNet a bit, works just as well. Game itself since 2010 ships with some tweaks and settings designed to improve Wine\Proton compatibility.
All of the features, like switching from window to fullscreen, minimizing, etc -- everything works just as it's supposed to on Windows.
Crash at launch

works good, not tested online
menu are not in fullscreen, game does
Tried some different versions of proton; nothing let me open it
Works perfectly fine.
Handles changing to full screen better than what it did on one of my Windows machines.
With the latest update, the game is now fully playable in windowed mode.
well its good enough :D and good to see with linux
Worked out of the box with Proton 5.0.9
Works out of the box
Cannot force windowed mode during gameplay. Automatically switches to full screen and full resolution without problems though.
Runs perfectly after the update
Perfect out-of-the-box, PLATINUM experience
Since Team17 updated Worms Armageddon specifically for Proton compatibility, playing the game became possible.
With latest 3.8 update, it just works out of the box.
The game works perfectly. AMD users must use a compatible Proton version to reap the benefits of the new OpenGL renderer.
When using mesa drivers for AMD GPU, gotta make sure you're using Proton 3.16-9 in order to get the game working with the OpenGL renderer. It performs much better than the D3D 9 renderers under mesa (even with DXVK on). The other renderers will work fine though, but you will experience some frame drops.
The OpenGL renderer will crash on newer Proton versions. This is because of a regression bug in Wine that needs to be fixed.
NVIDIA users should not have issues here.
Backup your custom User folder files before switching to the older Proton runtime though!

Only in the main menu
As mentioned before, when moving the game screen with the mouse game as laggy
Game initialed with the mentioned problems of the main menu being in reduced resolution. Installing the FrontendHD fixed the problem. When entering the game black screen appeared. alt+tab and going back fixed the black screen. Game is shuttering the screen when moving the mouse. (Possible HW and driver problem since my PC is old and use workstation architecture) but should run fine on modern computers.
