The game works fine but it has slowness on some levels
On later levels the game can slowdown when multiple robots are destroyed.
Saddly the game depends too much on the framerate, you can lock the framerate to 60 but it will slow from time to time.
Shaders still loading in the background so you can get 25fps until it cache everything, you can disable the cache on the game settings if you want.
frame drops from time to time and stuttering that happens on windows too
I had problems starting up the game, it open on a black screen window and used 100% of the cpu, it can be fixed adding "d3d9.dll" from the DXVK github " https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases " and the game opened normally. (Thanks to larsimusrex)
It works but if you click on the screen you lose any kind of input and have to restart the game
The game is weird, with the default proton it works kinda alright, just don't dare to minimize or click on the game screen, you will lose any kind of input on the game and you should close it manually (wine services stays open on the background, so you should kill those process too)
Using GE-Proton makes the game a mess, sprites gets bigger one over other and it's impossible to see.
Overall it's a mixed experience, but it's not really playable if you can't click on some options.
This is a classic, the windows dosbox with proton works alright but I recommend using boxtron native dosbox for a better experience.
The windows dosbox with proton works alright but I recommend using boxtron native dosbox for a better experience. Also steam overlay doesn't work and you can be locked out of the game while it tries to open, you can disable the overlay before launch.
The game works but I recommend update the dosbox version for dosbox staging
with the version of dosbox that is given the game can be problematic on dual monitor setups, and fullscreen cannot be initiated again after you clic outside the screen.
I completed the game without any problem using proton, changed to dosbox staging to get a better performance since boxtron didn't loaded the game for me and showed a cd-rom error. Besides that the game is fun.
The game is playable out of the box, only videos cannot be played.
use the "-windowed" command
Since the videos are coded on Bink Video it will show a black screen, this bug also happens on windows for some people, I tried to fix it installing RAD video tool with protontricks and even using binkw32.dll and adding WINEDLLOVERRIDES='binkw32.dll=n,b' to the launch options without any result, maybe someday we will have a solution for this type of propietary codec.
Another bug can happen when you minimize the game before entering the menu, and the textures will be all white, you can evade this problem playing the game on windowed
%command% -windowed x=1920 y=1080
It's a good Resident Evil clone, but not more than that.
installed d3dx9, if not characters will be invisible (I dunno why)
The game can crash when change resolution or minimizing, it's the same behaviour as on windows.
scripts scenes can glitch up as well as physics...normal stuff for this game.
after the tweak the game works...with all the problem that normally has. The game is a mess.
Used Dehra's guide to make the framerate steady at 60 ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/239200/discussions/0/5168416410418660790/ )
WIth proton the game works fine, had to change the configuration because it has dips of framerates from time to time.
The games starts, it takes alot of time to load shaders, but the experience it's very bad.
PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME=1 PROTON_LOG=1 gamemoderun %command% -dev -novid
Audio crackling between kills, it also cracks when you join a match on the character selection and on the end.
Seems like shaders keep loading even when you already loaded at the beggining and also getting on the same map twice.
The game stays on a black screen when changing from windowed to fullscreen and even happens if you minimize the game and go back, you will need to restart the game.
Even when letting the shaders completly load at the start the game lags alot, sometimes not even using enough vram.
The game crashes randomly with a random .pak error, it's always different and I guess the game can't handle the loading with a low framerate.
The game even freezees when you quit normally, and you have to kill the process manually.
EAC works ok, sometimes I got kicked on the lobby but I was never kicked during gameplay. I can't deal with this game honestly, too many problems and I guess it's mostly the engine fault, maybe it gets better if you keep playing like that but I don't want to find out.
-dx11
Seems like this game plays on dx12 by default and it crashes on startup, adding -dx11 fixes everything and works without any problem.
I didn't tested coop or pvp since I couldn't find anyone playing it, but the main game it's very playable.
The game works fine with the default steam proton.
When a new level is loaded it can have some fps drops for 3 seconds.
The audio disappear and came back from time to time, sometimes music starts and reapeats again and again when loading but it's not a big issue
The maps loads slowly because of vk making caches
It takes a little to load the maps
ocasional freezes because of vk loading caches
You need to install punkbuster manually before playing opening it on lutris, after that I can quickjoin and search for servers without any problem
The game worked fine with wine-ge-8-22 since it was the only way that could get EA App to not be buggy for me, the experience is not perfect but I can play it with friends.
The game has alot of problems but is playable with the default proton
Menus don't fit to screen. On game it depends if you use Flash or Unity, sometimes flash minimizes if you press ALT+Tab or Esc making the game pause.
You will need to change sensitivity ingame and don't share the configuration between Flash and Unity.
Besides the launcher the menu it's fully on flash like Global Strike, and you can choose to use flash or unity but the last one even if it runs better it's not compatible with all modes.
Launcher is very buggy and lagged, menu and game has same problems depending witch one you choose.
The game has alot of ping even on us servers.
I didn't expected much about this game since it's an old flash game that I played years ago on facebook...the game still very p2w btw.
Video files don't play if using steam proton, changing it to GE-Proton fixes this.
The game works fine out of the box.
Sometimes the game lose connection to steam when you move to the next screen and warns you before closing.
Some slowdowns while loading into the world.
Videos doesn't work with steam proton, changing to GE-Proton fixes it.
Used the 16:9 patch from PCGamingWiki
The game runs only on fullscreen, you can force borderless with gamescope and add the "-b" command
The normal keyboard bindings are horrible, I recommend to change it via the startup launcher.
Videos do not play, you can skip them pressing enter or just delete them from the game folder.
gamemoderun RADV_DEBUG=nocompute RADV_PERFTEST=aco DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% -high
slow texture loads
Low fps during gameplay
Slow loadings on all the modes, and also a heavy use of vram
Online works fine for the most part
I had to use some RADV commands to make the game playable at 60fps, still has some slowness from time to time, without it the game can have very slow loadings and textures also load slow.
Works fine out of the box
Multiplayer works perfectly fine, played some matches and zombies for a few hours without any problems.
The executable on steam is wrong, you can fix it using "Steam Metadata Editor"
I noticed that the game can be launched without steam, so I used "Steam Metadata Editor" and select the executable from there, after that the game launches normally and achievments works as intended. I guess this happens because it's a x86 application and renaming it to "Codex_of_Victory_linux.x86" don't fix the issue.
Game opens on a black screen and freezes there
Used the same method as the classic one, changed to an old proton version (4.11) and after the error go back to the recent proton to make nprotect install, in this case the game opens on a black screen and not even using "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" can fix it, so it's borked for me.
Game does not launch because of nprotect gameguard
I tried to launch the game on an older version of proton (4.11-3) and later change for the newer one, it does install nprotect after that but the game is never opened, nprotect does their autentification but after that nothing.
The game works fine out of the box
UI is a mess, mouse is not supported and didn't tested controller but should work.
Kind of a nfs rip off...I guess it's alright
The game works great out of the box
The game it's only on a 4:3 and the max resolution is pretty low, but atleast the game works fine like that. Seems like you only get the linux native version buying the game from their page, but proton works great anyway.
The native version works ok
Some people reported problems with the linux version but on arch the game works fine on steam. The original 2003 version is only for windows so you have to redownload and open it with bottles or something else.
Sometimes audio is missing and the quality is very low.
Sensitivity is only horizontal and vertical is always slower.
The game on the menus are a bit laggy and in game when you get a kill, get hurt, or die there is a 60/40 chance that the game lags and hang there for a few seconds, this happens on windows too and mobile so it's a feature(?)
frequent disconects from the server and lags between getting log out and instantly getting loggin in
Very high ping even on NA servers
The game has very slow matchmaking and I think it's because most people just play the battle royale mode.
The game also forces you to download the modes and the maps ingame, so you will need to wait for half and hour and restart the game.
The game works fine with steam proton
Launcher ask for an update, and first launch the game doesn't open, stop it and reopen the game and it will run normally.
Videos don't work at all with steam proton but the game it's playable. Changing the game to GE-Proton only show the game on a black screen and couldn't get to the menu, default steam proton 8.0-5 works fine.
The game work great out of the box
I completed the game since it's very short and it's fully playable without any problems.
Native and Proton works great out of the box
Completed the game without any problems, savegames aren't shared between linux and windows.
Native version works great
Tested native and the windows version with the default proton and both works without any problems, it's a fun game.
Game launchs but soon as you go to the New Game door the game minimizes and froze there.
The game worked great out of the box
Completed the main game and the story dlc and the game worked great without any crashes or other problem, played on an ultrawide monitor and the videos and menu are 16:9 but the gameplay it's fine at 21:9
Native and Proton works perfectly
No options for resolution but you can get the game windowed with ALT+Tab
gamemoderun %command%
Played multiplayer for hours with friends on both windows and linux, worked like a charm, I even added a little config change to make the game works on a ultrawide monitor and gamescope with my weird 900p/21:9 resolution and it worked just fine, it's also a fun game.
The game works fine out of the box
some flickers are present on the distance but besides that it works fine
changed the configuration launcher and tested both directx and opengl, worked fine with some minor graphical glitches but it's very playable
Low frame rate on some situations, 10fps when the victory animation plays.
Crossplay works great.
Used Heroic Launcher to play the epic games version, didn't had to tweak anything besides using GE-Proton and online worked flawlessly.
The game works perfectly without any tinkering
The default version on steam works fine, I updated the game to 1.8 to have my native language and it goes great, played the expansions too without any tinkering or graphical/audio problems.
gamemoderun %command% +fovy 90
Completed the game and the dlc with no problems, no crashes and no audio problems.
went to options.cfg on the game's folder and deleted "#" on -fov:90 -motionblurscale:0.0 -noptt
The game has heavy mouse acceleration, you can disable on the game settings.
Some frame drops from time to time not matter the graphic settings
Tried coop and the game kicks both players after 2 minutes, probably just a normal problem of the game itself.
Overall it's playable...still F.E.A.R 3 tho, a very mid game.
Online works great
No thinkering needed using GE-Proton
Changed to proton
No settings option but you can ALT+Tab to go on windowed mode
Sometimes mouse doesn't respond, even on fullscreen, I guess the problem is that it runs on 4:3 and the mouse doesn't lock on the game window
No cloud save
On some levels the framerate goes down, maybe is a game issue and no proton itself.
Works fine for the most part
The game runs fine but it has some flickering with a few pixels but it's not that notorious on gameplay
The game runs on fullscreen all the time, and can't be windowed
Multiplayer works great, played with friends that use windows and didn't had any issues
If it's your first time the native version works great, if you already played on windows stick with proton.
forced to use proton.
Windows savegames don't share with the linux port.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8.dll=n,b' %command%
added winedlloverrides for using with mods
DENUVO sometimes makes the game freeze for half a second and makes you mess up some notes.
Played for a couple of hours and doesn't have any graphical or audio problems.
Changed to proton
using proton with the old version of dosbox the game looks very blurry, you will need to change some things on the config file inside the game folder.
The game can easily be playable downloading the windows version of dosbox staging and replace the old dosbox (if needed rename the downloaded "dosbox.exe" to "DOSBox.exe") and go to dosbox.conf and change settings there
fullresolution=1920x1080
output=ddraw
you can test the output with opengl or openglnb but with ddraw for me the game worked without any problems, it even loaded videos and music. You can try the linux version of dosbox staging but for me this way it's more easier.
Low resolution textures since at the start it uses too much vram, if you have more tha 8gb you will be fine but if you have less than that put everything on low and try to change stuff in game, it eventually will look less greasy.
Low framerates at the start of the game, the rest works fine.
You need to change the game to dx12 with a launch command, if you play without it at the start of the game you will see a white screen and it will freezee there.
%command% -d3d12
Native works great out of box
I feel that the game works better on linux native than on windows and didn't had any stutter or problems, I have my save from years ago and my workshop songs.
changed to use proton
Native changes resolution every time the game starts, sometimes getting on a side, sometimes just a line in the middle, probably is because I use a dual monitor setup, but after change the compatibility to proton the game works perectly
The game works great out of the box
Nothing changed, the game works great saddly it doesn't have ultra-wide support.
Native works ok
The game gets capped at 20fps when alot of small people are spawned, I guess it's meant to be like that, it doesn't make any difference the game is still playable.
It's a good screensaver.
The game works fine by default but you should add some commands if you have a dual monitor setup
gamemoderun gamescope -W 1280 -H 720 -b -- %command%
The game doesn't support windowed mode, on dual monitor setup makes your second screen to be on a black screen, so you have to use gamescope with "-b" command
Multiplayer and coop works fine.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8=n,b' %command%
Installed the xlive.dll, 16:9 FOV Fix and ThirteenAG's Universal ASI Loader all from the pcgamingwiki page and worked flawlessly
Used the default proton version 8.0-4 and the game works better than on windows, I remember suffering alot on this game back in the day but on proton it's a great experience (the game it's not that good but at least there isn't any graphical problem so far).
The game works great out of the box
Played the whole story without any problem, I also tested the beta "Ibandy" and works mostly the same. This game has alot of very good songs.
The native version works great out of the box
No cloud save
The game works fine but it's recommended to use proton for the updated version of the game.
Native works ok out of the box
Mouse sensitivity can't be changed on game.
save games from native and proton doesn't share but achievments does.
Tested proton version too...besides to load a bit slower the performance was the same.
Using proton the game has some visual problems and sound is low quality, use Boxtron instead.
Changing the compatibility to Boxtron the game works flawlessly.
Works alright with stream proton
The game flickers if you play it on fullscreen on kde, just use gamescope and use -b command to make it windowed.
The game doesn't have a list of resolutions, just windowed and fullscreen, and there is a known bug that you can't use the windowed option if you have steam overlay enabled, disable it and the game can be windowed normally
The game seems to be capped at 30fps, when using with the default steam proton 8.0 the game drops fps during gameplay all the time, with GE-Proton works better and even use less resources on my computer.
framedrops using default proton, use ge-proton.
if you have an ultrawide monitor the game will look stretched, using gamescope on a 16:9 resolution will fix it
" gamescope -W 1280 -H 720 -f -- %command% "
gamemoderun gamescope -W 1600 -H 900 -b %command%
The game doesn't let you change the resolution since it use the desktop one and windowed it's very small, I use gamescope to fix that.
Played for a couple of hours and it worked smoothly.
Works perfectly with the default steam proton
No issues so far, the game runs perfectly at 120fps (seems like it uses opengl) and this time around the game has a resolution list unlike past games and works great on windowed.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Fullscreen on 21:9 monitors are stretched, gamescope don't fix it because mouse inputs just don't work in game.
Some slighty frame drops from time to time because of use on wined3d
For what I see Europe servers are the most filled with players, so if you're in America you will have some lag but I didn't noticed much.
The game needs some fast tweaks before launching, when you launch the game without tinkering you will get the game screen freezed and you can't use the mouse inside the window, forcing the game to wined3d fixes all the issues and it's very playable.
The game works fine without any tinkering.
I played on keyboard, and in 4k I can't push more than 3 keys at the same time, but could be my keyboard. I tested it on DJMax and in that game worked with no problem, maybe in the future I try it on controller.
Old scores don't show and basic configuration like speed and skin don't save between installations.
Some stutters from time to time.
force_vk_vendor=-1 gamemoderun %command% -dx12 -ngxdisableota
Multiplayer works great
The game works alright but it's needed a few commands before launching, changing to proton experimental or GE-Proton both are good as far my tests go, on the launcher it says that the hardware is out of date but can be ignored. Didn't had frame drops at all and I'm happy for once that an a competitive team based game is not limited by an a kernel anticheat on linux. Also the game is very very fun.
I had some fps drops on the last segment when you look at the bug offices, but only when you use tab to see where you need to go, seems like it's just a normal problem and not proton's fault.
Played the version from Amazon Games, it works without any problem using Steam Proton 9.0-2
Constant crashes after a few minutes, mostly every 10 minutes the game just freezes and closes.
Multiplayer is fine and EAC works as intended, but the game always crashes after a few minutes making impossible to complete a full game, normally it happens when changing maps or changing faces in game.
Played the epic version using "Heroic Games Launcher". The game works fine for a couple of minutes and multiplayer is playable, but after that the game crashes while try to load anything, I don't think it's an EAC problem because if it was I will booted out of the game at the start.
Engine sounds are sometimes too loud and it crackles from time to time
Videos doesn't play, probablly is fixable using winedlloverrides but it doesn't matter much because you can skip it with the enter key.
The game works fine after changing to windowed on the game settings
The game will not open on fullscreen, you should play it on windowed.
The game crashes every time if you choose to skip during the cutscenes, so be aware.
For some reason the game will not open with Opengl or Software rendering, only Direct3D9 seems to work, everything else don't change anything I guess, Adventure Game Studio is not an engine I know much.
Some stuttering from time to time, but most of the time the game goes at 60fps
Multiplayer seems to work alright
The game works fine with wine-ge-8-22 installing the EA App first and downloading the game from there, It has some stuttering problems but it's playable, I also tested multiplayer and seems to work ok.
Native works great out of the box
Linux and Windows version both share the same savegame so you can switch up between them to what better works for you.
The game works out of the box
The game works only on fullscreen as far I know, it can be windowed with gamescope and using "gamescope -b" on the launch options
Completed the whole game with no crashes or weird bugs, the game worked even better than on windows.
The game works perfectly out of the box
Played for an hour without any lag or crashes as previously reported by other users.
The game kicks you out after a second that the match starts
EAC kicks the user as soon as the game loads, the menu and inventory works fine but it's unplayable for now. Tried EAC Runtime with "PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME="/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime/" %command%" but didn't worked either.
This port have a very bad music quality, you can replace it with this guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=916057764
the game it's only on fullscreen on a 4:3 resolution, you can use gamescobe with "-b" command to make it windowed.
since it framedrop constantly on my pc the input is very laggy, taking seconds to even jump or move left.
alot of frame drops all the time and became unplayable.
Works out of the box
The game launches and it's very playable with the default steam proton.
Autosaves get erased if you get stuck on a loading loop, it happens when a dialogue never played and had to force quit the game.
The game softlocks sometimes when tries to load a new dialogue...somehow when you move from cave to open world and have to talk with someone the game just hangs there until you reload your save and that happens all the time.
The game takes about 5 minutes to load the open world the first time you open the game, it happens too when you go in and out of the caves.
Low fps performance from time to time, I had to go to fastest quality to get a decent 60fps.
Played using heroic launcher with both default proton and ge-proton, both had same results, the game has alot of performance issues.
Native version works fine with some slowness
The game has some slowdowns from time to time but is very playable
Native works ok but maybe with proton it will run better, but the default experience is good.
The game works perfectly out of the box
With the default steam proton the game works without any problems.
The game works fine out of the box
Vsync doesn't work but it must be just me
the default proton is enough to make the game playable, it's a shame the game is very dead so if you want to play it get a team before doing it.
Native version works out of the box
The linux and windows version share the same savegame, no problem with proton either, work as intended.
Installed d3dcompiler_46 dll to make the game be visible
The game opens on a black window and even when you hear and interact the menu it's not playable, but fixable using protontricks and installing the requiered dll, after that the game works flawlessly without any problems.
The game works fine but...
The audio crackles all the time.
Mouse support doesn't work, but that happens on windows too
This port is overall pretty bad so there is not much to do.
The game runs but doesn't detect any input
The game opens to the language selection screen but it doesn't detect any input (Keyboard, Controller, Mouse) and is not possible proceed from there.
Changed to proton
Using native and change to windowed the game can crash or lock your screen if you use dual monitor.
The gane works fine with steam proton 9.0-2
Launcher only worked on experimental, but the game couldn't launch
The launcher only worked on proton experimental, 8.0 and GE-Proton makes the launcher don't download any updates so it never makes the start button avalible, and when you launch the game on experimental the game says something about directx and closes immediatly.
with the default steam proton videos doesn't work, using GE-Proton fixes it
The game works fine from start to finish, videos don't play unless you use GE-Proton, some people need to instal wmp11 with protontricks even when I didn't have to do it and movies played correctly, probably they changed the installation script. Played the game with the Thirteenag widescreen fix to have the game on ultrawidescreen
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8.dll=n,b' %command%
Videos aren't centered but besides that the game runs great on a uws monitor.
The game launches but it runs very badly
No matter which version of proton you use, the game has annoying framedrops all the time, it even can freezee for a whole minute, I'm not sure why. I tried change to dx9 with dxwrapper and using dgvoodoo without any luck, maybe it's my system but this is the only game that acts like this. Windowed always shows as a black screen and audio volume are always at max. Very troublesome release.
The game worked out of the box
Slighty lags when entering on a map for the first time, after that the game work as intended.
Multiplayer works great, sometimes server lags but it's not a proton issue, this always happened.
It's a shame this game is kinda dead, but it's playable for now.
Native works...don't recommend tho
constant freezes from time to time and alot of loading screens that take from 1-3 minutes
The game works fine out of the box with GE-Proton, it takes a while to compile shaders but it's not necessary
Fullscreen sometimes gives frame drops, borderless or windowed fixes it.
For some users 64-bit version of the game will not launch, it's easy fixeable playing the 32-bit one
The game is very playable so far, I didn't got any awful problems with it so game on.
Game doesn't launch
Launcher starts but after login and hit play button nothing will happen and it will just close itself.
Tested with both proton latest and proton experimental, and also tested with ge-proton and none of those worked having the same result.
The game works out of the box
Low framerate and high vram usage, happens on windows too.
I recommend playing on low, because this game uses almost all my 8gb vram and on open places the game can go down 16fps, I remember that happens on windows too so I assume is just bad optimization, still is a cool game. Also I'm not sure where CryEngine saves their render settings, oh well.
Worked out of the box
Played the version from Amazon Game App and the game worked fine without any tinkering using Proton 8.0
Native opens the wrong file, Proton works perfectly
On native launched by steam the game doesn't open, you can play it if you go to the game folder and open the .sh executable.
But the easier way is to just use proton and it works fine.
The game works great with Steam Proton after you pass the laggy login screen.
The browser window that uses to login and link accounts is very slow and no reliable at all, for now login with steam is the easiest way because I can't make an ASG account since it needs to be made ingame.
Coop mode worked great
Overall the game plays very well.
The game works perfectly out of the box
The game has no cloud save.
It has some slight stutters when a new part of the level loads, but it's mostly the first time you play.
I discovered that the game crashes if you use gamescope or gamemode, the game is old so it should play nicely on any computer.
Native linux port works great
The game is fantastic to play on linux, I even tried mods and played a few hours multiplayer with them.
Native version works perfectly
Completed the game without any crash or noticeable problem, it's also a cool game.
Game works great out of the box
local multiplayer works great using keyboard only (you should change the bindings on the startup)
The game is fine and works flawlessly, on ultrawide resolution you can see some sprites on the side but nothing that breaks the game.
The game works great out of the box
The game works on a window, it's possible to maximize to the screen or pressing F1 for fullscreen
Tested the original version too, and as the same of the reworked version the game works on a window but if you maximize the window you will have the game on one corner instead of getting bigger, I guess it happens on windows too. It can be fixed using gamescope on the launch commands
gamescope -W 1280 -H 720 -f %command%
just change it to the resolution of your monitor
Works great out of the box.
on wayland use gamescope to fix your mouse if it doesn't work during gameplay gamescope -w 1707 -h 720 -f %command%
besides the mouse problem the game works perfectly fine and never having framedrops even when things got crazy.
Don't launch from steam, use lutris with the .exe downloaded from steam.
The game doesn't launch with steam, not even with GE-Proton or forcing WINED3D, but somehow the game is DRM-Free and can be launched without steam adding it to lutris the "Syndrome.exe", so it's playable but I don't think it will be fixed soon. Probably it works with Bottles and Heroic too.
It's playable from start to finish
X and Y sensitivity are different and there is no way to change each one separatley (Possible not a problem of proton itself)
No cloud save
The game works fine out of the box, there is some issues with videos on the startup but that's all.
After switching to Proton Experimental and download Proton Easyanticheat the game works great
Played for an hour and multiplayer worked great without any problems.
Native works but seems like the servers are down I can't start any case.
Changed to proton
On native for some reason the game requieres to connect to the dev server, that seems to be down for a while, on proton you can kinda start a case but I couldn't figure it out how to get to the next dialogue and the game just freeze there. Seems like it's not a proton issue but if you gonna buy the game saddly is not playable at all.
Sometimes the game gets stretched.
The game can be added to scummvm on linux easily, you can access the game, making of and the clandestiny trailer from there. You can also change aspect and add filters so it will be a better experience from there.
It uses the linux version of scummvm and it works fine
I recommend to go to the game installation ( The 7th Guest/ScummVM_Linux/ ) and edit the ini file called "scummvm-t7g-opengl.ini" changing "fast_movie_speed" to true, it will save time during puzzles.
The windows version with proton works ok and they open on a windowed dosbox, some people had problems with the launcher but for me it worked. But for really play this old fps games luxtorpeda works great, just add it to the compatibility list and select it, you don't have to do anything since the 4 games appears on the list. Both Black Stone works great but Rise of The Triad doesn't have music and I think this happens because they didn't bothered to leave the music files, but well at least you can play it.
It's an ok pack but it's kinda expensive even when the source code of these games where leaked.
Game opens and closes itself all the time
I guess the anticheat makes the game close itself and open again constantly, very borked.
The game works great out of the box
It's a short and sweet murder mystery made on rpgmaker, and it works great with proton.
%command% +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +r_swapinterval 2
textures load slowly on this game, even when it's using 90% of my gpu
mouse is laggy on the menu, but in game works ok
The game uses alot of gpu somehow even when you have shadows and everything else on low, forcing the gpu too much even when you have locked at 60fps
This is a pretty bad port but it's playable.
Completed the game and it worked flawleslly from start to finish.
The game works, this is just a very bad port.
-Some text symbols will look like a square. -Other languages aren't well implemented, some text will be on the choosen language and other will be in english, also french and russian dialogue aren't dubbed on my language, but sometimes it's...I dunno it's weird, it's mostly this version fault.
This game is great, but if you want to play it the best way you probably need to get the gog version since the gold edition has alot of problems.
It works out of the box
The game is playable from start to finish...I don't know why you would do it but still...
The game works flawlessly without any tinkering
The game works fine and played for 8 hours with no crashes or any other problems, it even works with my gamescope commands and supports ultra widescreen, the only problem is when you start a run you can see a void where the world beggins but after that everything works great, also it's a very cute game.
The games needs alot of tweaks to even open but I couldn't get into game
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="D3D8.dll=n,b" %command%
The game is very buggy, tried using dgvoodoo and the game at least launched (also it's very finicky when you change anything on the config so I left the default ones) menu is buggy but is posible to start the game, videos works alright but after that the game crashes with this message " Debug Assertion Failed " Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me could fix, I also tried to instal vc2010 with protontricks but didn't work either, so it's borked for me at the moment.
The game works fine without tinkering
If you install the game as of now you get the new updated ubisoft launcher, it launches the game fine but if you get an error when opening the game you can always install ubisoft launcher on lutris/bottles, update it and replace the one that steam installed on "compatdata/365590/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/"
Multiplayer works great
Played for 30 hours without a problem on the gameplay, on the other hand the UI it's very bad since is a mobile port with some thinkering, but it's tolerable, the game is fine but very very grindy.
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun gamescope -W 2100 -H 900 -f -- %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -nomansky -heapsize 6291456 -refresh 60 -nojoy -NOTEXTURESTREAMING
Sometimes mouse gets unlocked from the game screen, mainly while fishing and with multi monitor setups.
Some stutter from time to time when running on the plaza, it also lags when people join the lobby.
The game could crash from time to time if you don't apply some commands on startup, you can also use directx10 when launch.
The game without any change is very ram and hdd heavy, the game can run better on a ssd/nvme but not by much.
After some tweaks the game will run better, it loads faster on a ssd or a high frequency ram so it's exactly the same as on windows. I added some tweaks from this guide ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=662316502 ) and included gamescope for my weird ultrawide monitor resolution.
The game works alright with the default proton
Alt+tab is the only way to change the game to a windowed, the game seems to adapt at your resolution even on 21:9 resolution with black bars at the sides and videos get stretched.
Since the dev remade the game on Unity proton just work out of the box
GDNomaD did a "remade" of some of his games from Gameguru to Unity, so it just works now without any workaround on Proton 8.0 and GE-Proton.
This game uses Nvidia PhysX, I use amd so it makes the game crash every time. Before launching for the first time rename your PhysX folder from steam commonredist
$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Steamworks Shared/_CommonRedist
rename "Physx" folder to anything else and open the game, this makes steam skip the installation of that aplication and the game will launch normally
(Don't forget rename your Physx folder back after you make the pfx for the game).
If you already launched the game before delete your pfx folder on where the game is installed "/steamapps/compatdata/16720"
and relaunch the game.
If after that the game don't open try using GE-Proton, for me with steam proton the game still didn't launch, after changing to that it worked without any issues.
This game is a painful even on windows.
The game works fine out of the box with default Steam Proton
when minimize the window getting back to the game it can be looked kinda funky, it can be fixed playing on windowed or using gamescope.
Online has been shutdown long ago so no multiplayer or leaderboards.
Tested on steam and the drm free version from Amazon Games using Heroic Launcher.
The game works fine out of the box, for a better experience I used the quality of life mod.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES='dinput8.dll=n,b' gamemoderun %command%
Some graphic stuff aren't on the game settings so I changed some variables on the .cfg file
sounds can crackle from time to time with low framerate on some systems
The game works fine with some framedrops during gameplay to 45fps, I don't remember if that happened too on windows since it was long ago.
Multiplayer works fine, both hosting and joining games from friends using windows
As far as I know the game works exactly as on windows, I added the quality of life mod because vanilla bots on nightmare/cataclysm difficulty are very very dumb ( https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1090355288 )
changed betas to "temporary_launcher_workaround - Bypass Launcher"
The launcher prompts to install webview2 failing to install (sometimes it opens after that but the installation of webview starts again when you reopen the game), To skip that you need to bypass launcher on the betas.
Multiplayer works only if you host because of anticheat, and your friends must be playing on windows so for some people it's useless, joining friends games kicks you out after a minute.
Modded realm it's only played solo, because if a friend try to join your game it will be instantly kicked.
The game works but it's far from an enjoyable state on linux.
The game opens on the loading screen and then just closes
No matter which version of proton or use just wine with bottles, all makes the game do the same, opens fullscreen with the loading screen and after 5 seconds it just closes...
the game doesn't have an option for fullscreen (far as I know)
Played the Amazon Games version of this game using Heroic Games Launcher and completed the game without any issue using the newest Steam Proton 9.0-2.
Native works alright, just like on linux.
On ultrawide monitors the image gets zoomed when you select fullscreen, you can fix it using gamescope and a 16:9 resolution. " gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f %command% "
Sometimes the game lags when alot of stuff is happening, happens on windows too.
Steam overlay doesn't work on native, it's not a big deal, you can disable it.
Native works the same like the windows version, with all the problems that already has with the lag and no resolution options. The good thing is that savegames works for both.
The game works fine with the default steam proton
from time to time the game will have a micro stutter but it could be drm so it's not a proton problem.
Finished the game and it worked very well, no crashes at all just some stutters every hour or so. Didn't tested any mods but I guess it's recommended for a better experience but not for completing the game. On a ultrawidescreen monitor the game on the cutscenes will have a border on the sides, it's not awful but as far I know you can only delete them with a patch that has to be run after the game launches so I didn't try it.
Works great without tinkering
Like Y3 the game works perfectly fine from start to finish, it has some slightly framedrops because of drm but that's not proton's fault.
Native works fantastically without tinkering
Completed the whole game and didn't have any crashes or any problems.
didn't had to make any tweaks and the game works perfectly using steam proton 8.0
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
on 21:9 monitors the image is stretched even when pcgamingwiki says that it has support for ultrawide.
Since that I forced to WINED3D the game can run on low framerate
Without any tinkering the game opens and gets frozen on the startup fmv no mather what proton version you use, after adding wined3d command the game runs normally, it's a bit laggy but playable.
Works great out of the box
Working flawlessly without any problem with the default steam proton.
Game works with no problems out of the box
It's a kinda decent castle crashers clone. Also if you need to change resolution since this is a mobile port you can do it using gamescope and use "-b" command to make it borderless.
gamescope -w 1600 -h 900 -b -- %command%
