Another W for RGG
Works OOTB. Stable 60FPS on 1080p with XB1 controller.

Game reacts on mouse and keyboard even if system is focused on another window
Works

Flawless Okinawa Yakuza experience!
Game ran perfectly at consistent 60 FPS at 1440p resolution. No tinkering required.
Works.

gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 165 --fullscreen -- gamemoderun DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
Runs great for me at a stable 60fps with gamescope, did crash once but not sure if that's due to linux or not.

During some ability unlocking game sections audio falls out of sync.
Some cutscenes have either minor or heavy noticeable artifacts
Slightly high FPS drops (from 60 to 40) when SSAO is enabled.

Before recent update on Proton Experimental, this game can't be played on my setup for some reason

Unfocusing the game hangs it immediatelly, regardless if its fullscreen or borderless
20-30fps if you turn SSAO on
Had to verify integrity of game files every now and then because of (possibly) missing cutscenes and if the game tries to load said missing cutscene it will crash immediatelly without any error messages/logs to look at.
awful game port
It doesnt work with steam flatpak but OOB with native.
The only game that I can't run. Black screen at launch

The game works fine with the default steam proton
from time to time the game will have a micro stutter but it could be drm so it's not a proton problem.
Finished the game and it worked very well, no crashes at all just some stutters every hour or so. Didn't tested any mods but I guess it's recommended for a better experience but not for completing the game. On a ultrawidescreen monitor the game on the cutscenes will have a border on the sides, it's not awful but as far I know you can only delete them with a patch that has to be run after the game launches so I didn't try it.

The game either closes instantly or shows a black screen for a couple of seconds before doing so
All my steam games have always ran; including other yakuza games; this one doesn't. With proton8.0.5 it stays black a couple of seconds, with the other versions either it closes instantly or it doesn't even open (seemingly similar to what some other user here has also reported).

Mahjong can be difficult to make out
Exposed Dragon doesn't seem to unlock when played on Linux. Doing the achievement on Windows under the same circumstances seems to be able unlock the achievement.

This is a pretty bare-bones port, but it runs without any technical issues on Linux!
Don't expect this game to be much more than a port of the original PS3 game with support for higher resolutions and 60 fps. You're not really getting much more. Some of the performance issues were ironed out by QLOC after launch, but if you're still having issues, check out SilentPatch for Yakuza 3. I did not use the patch and can't vouch for how well it works on Linux.
Overall though, compatibility was pretty much perfect for me. No crashes or technical issues during 20 hours of playtime. My DS4 controller got picked up perfectly and the game mapped from keyboard to controller on the fly without issues. The only weird thing was that I had to press "Start" at the main menu even though it says "Press any button".
Game starts with a black screen and then stops
None

Runs perfect, install and play without tinkering.

Installed silent patch and licensed music patch
Default layout caused my right trackpad to vibrate very loudly, changing it to right joystick fixed the issue.
TDP capped at 7 watts to lower the fan noise.
Can be played through on the deck from start to finish without any major issues. I would recommend some mods like Silent Patch, but it's not needed for the game to work.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b"
If using the uncensor and music restoration patch, the folder "c11_0080" in " ~ /Yakuza 3 Remastered/data/auth/" will need to be renamed "C11_0080" to avoid a crash in chapter 11 due to Linux having case sensitive file systems. Other than that, there were no problems with playing the main story.

High textures, low/off everything else. 30FPS cap.
Although I didn't install it till after I finished the game, SilentPatch fixes many performance problems with the game.
When you swithing locations it can be laggy for a while (about 10 FPS for 1, 1.5 second)
You can run it with Standart Proton, GE-Proton or TKG-Proton, if you want
The game ran well and I didn't notice any particular issues with it
Completed the main game without any issues Completed a couple substories in Osaka Didn't really play the mini games
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Optional: You can also type on Konsole "protontricks 1088710 winecfg" and inside the libraries tab on the protontricks window add dinput8 to <native, builtin>, instead of using the launch command above.
If using the Yakuza 3 Licensed Music Patch, the game will soft lock on chapter 11. To prevent this, rename the folder in "data/auth/c11_0010" (yes, the one if the lower c) to "C11_0010" and overwrite the contents.
You can mod your game with the RyuModManager by placing it's files inside Yakuza 3 game folder and by either setting the launch option above or using Protontricks (see https://github.com/SutandoTsukai181/RyuModManager/issues/5#issuecomment-1139085856). To run the RyuModManagerGUI.exe (the executable) you can add it as a non-steam game inside steam and set it to run on Proton Experimental on Compatibility. Someone from the Yakuza Modding Discord told me that you can place the SilentPatchYRC.asi (ONLY!) from Silent Patch for Yakuza 3 inside the folder so it runs your RyuModManager mods alongside Silent Patch, but I'm not sure if that changed anything. Played with the following enhancement mods: https://discord.com/channels/500648490947575809/762034004412334080/1073164842510331924 https://www.nexusmods.com/yakuza3remastered/mods/5/?tab=description https://www.nexusmods.com/yakuza3remastered/mods/100 https://www.nexusmods.com/yakuza3remastered/mods/88 https://www.nexusmods.com/yakuza3remastered/mods/4
Seems perfect

Everything works as expected
All yakuza games run with great performance on both SteamDeck and Linux.
Used: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2515305325 for Quickstep distance restoration
Game works flawlessly on Steam Deck, stable 60 FPS on Medium/High settings in all locations. Ultra setings were playable as well but playing on Ultra means ocassional small FPS drops and a bit less gameplay time on battery.
The only tinkering besides playing around with Graphical settings was installation of Quickstep restoration mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2515305325
Game runs perfectly out of the box. Requires a tiny amount of tinkering if you wish to use various patches.
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Game would soft lock during chapter 11 using restoration patch
I highly recommend installing the Silent Patch for this game to reduce CPU usage, and the Y3 restoration patch to restore some content removed in this release. With the restoration patch, there were two versions of the directory data/auth/C11_0010 within the game folder. Remove the lowercase one and it should run fine.
For the Silent patch, setting the environment variable WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" allows the game to run with the Silent patch.

Monitor Refresh rate set to 45Hz
All the "revelation" cutscenes, and only those, had the audio out of sync. It was annoying, but nothing game breaking.
I set myself to play this game entirely on the Deck, which took some time. Basically, I played the game throught 4 different version of Proton.
The game runs fine, never crashed or any other problem, but the one that I cited with the audio out of sync for the "revelations" cutscenes, which is annoying, but nothing major.
Works great out of the box. No problems
Almsot flawless, issues with some controllers.
DualSense 4 (Playstation 4) Controller does not work. Tried with and without Steaminput as well as with different proton versions. Workaround: install "ds4drv" and run "ds4drv --hidraw --emulate-xpad" to emulate an XBOX 360 Controller. This worked flawlessly (Steam Input was disabled)
Couldn't tab our for some reason. Maybe just a general issue with the game itself.
I didn't run into any issues during my playtime.
gamemoderun WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Used protontricks to set up Silent Patch.
I did tinker a bit with it, but only to use the aforementioned patch. Game worked out of the box without a single issue even before I made any changes, and was completely stable with no crashes or bugs in over 40 hours of game time for me.
Runs fine OOTB no tinkering
Oh god, this game is so bad. It works fine but it's so, so bad. Easily the worst game in the Yakuza series. If you're gonna make yourself play it to continue the story like I did, I warned you. Pain.
Installed vcrun2019, and had to delete dinput8.dll
runs perfect start to finish
