Just works out of the box. I had problems with input audio in a previous install, but this time it worked just fine.

Cursor cannot hover over in-game menus easily as it gets bounced away. No known applicable fix for this issue under AMD Radeon R9 200
Cursor does not enter in-game menus in gameplay.
Server side latency issues. Tested via Windows and Linux and ping tests. Isolated to developer's issues.
Playes well out of box

Runs well no tinkering
Mouse leaves fullscreen
I run around 80+fps on low. Don't know if this is normal.
I don't have any issues besides the fullscreen which doesn't bother me since I play borderless anyways. 60+Hrs of smoking collies no problems glhf :)

Runs out the box
Performance is not ideal, getting 40 fps on medium with a 4K monitor 3840x2180

gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%
Mouse pointer don't enter some in-game windows

gamemoderun %command%
With tiling windows enabled, any attempt to alt-tab freezes the PC (Xorg). Works fine with floating windows, in windowed mode. Adding a floating exception doesn't solve the problem.
Without gamemoderun
freezes on initial loading screen.

VOIP was not working as when I was running in Windows
VOIP was not working as when I was running in Windows
VOIP was not working as when I was running in Windows
All the aspects of the game works fine, but the audio from the voice chat is not reliable anymore. It works sometimes on the lobby or in small areas, but not in heavy combat areas. This problem did not use to happen when running the game on Windows.
Microfone was not working

The game is working great, there's no visible problems, you will have the same experience as in Windows running this.
As long you have DXVK + GPU Drivers it will run fine. Doesn't need any tinkering for the current patch (update 56), might break in future updates due to developer history of breaking compatibility with Proton.

Minor freezes here and there
Solid expierence with very minor annoyances that were almost un-noticable.

Via Steam game starts normal but FPS is garbage on display - while Steam overlay shows a normal frame rate at about 90. Same story on Lutris
Ingame FPS counter via Steam overlay reacts normal - about 90 FPS - but on display i got under 30 FPS. Only efects Foxhole. Otherwise it WERCS.
Lutris needs to download/instal steam and foxhole before every start. Stick with Steams version.

Works well and performance is good.
Squad chat doesnt seem to want to work

Lots of concrete bogs down Windows, but it's particularily noticible on linux
They broke Proton support a couple patches back and spent dedicated time fixing it and had it patched back up within a week.
Foxhole is fully funtional.

VKD3D_CONFIG="dxr,dxr11" VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 gamemoderun %command%
Runs and plays for ~30 mins and UE4 crash prompt appears, regardless of proton version or launch flags

This was with proton EG, experimental fixed it

Game wasn't working before, but it's up and running fine now.

Latest Hotfix update [Hotfix 1.56.15.4] has resolved the Linux Crash everyone was experiencing. Can enter the game and enter regions after "Deploying" message.

Everything seems normal and funtional until you try and connect to the server and then the game crashes.
This is currently very unfortunate to happen after a hotfix update. Though It appears the devs are doing something to rectify this, but for the moment the game appears unplayable indefinetly.

Broken on all Linux, likely permanent.
Foxhole is a game that revolves around player-driven wars taht last for about 30-40 days on average. When a war ends the game resets and a new one starts. About a day after the current war began the developers issued a hotfix to solve some serious problems. Some of the problems were fixed, but now the game doesn't work on linux, period. No distro, no compatibility program, nothing. Either play it on Windows or probably never play it again, because the devs will probably never fix this fuckup.
Works fine at menus but crashes when trying to load into the actual game
Works fine at menus but crashes when trying to load into the actual game. No proton version works since April 6th.
Crashing when attemping to join shard

Recent update completely borked Foxhole
It's broken across essentially the entire Linux community /including/ Steamdeck users. So, if you are using Linux and hoping to play Foxhole... at the current juncture, to the best of my knowledge, it is not possible. The fix may come tomorrow, the fix may come never... but presenting the game as currently playable "Gold" status to people on protondb is utterly inaccurate. It is completely broken, and until you read reviews more recent than this one saying otherwise, it is best to assume it remains broken.

Foxhole Update 56
*> Before this update, Experimental was the go-to way for me. Now, no matter which Proton version, or Glorious Eggroll version, or even the Proton 9 Beta version I include, the game refuses to run after initial in-game menu. I ensured that no .pak mods were installed to ensure the base (vanilla) game was running. I have never used Launch Option Commands; unaware of any commands that are possible solutions at this time.
Latest update broke it completly. Now crashes when loading into home region.

The game is both play- and enjoyable by just enabling proton experimental (and in my case installing the nvidia drivers)
Was forced to lower from high to medium. Enabling motion blur has severe performance impact.
Note: I had some trouble with the NVIDIA drivers. Namely, as of the making of this report, the nvidia-driver package will not install on or above kernel version 6.1.0-18-amd64, which made the game literally unplayable for me (extreme performance loss and crashes). If you are unable to install the NVIDIA driver normally & are thus unable to play the game, here's how I fixed it: You need to install an older version of the kernel (6.1.0-17-amd64 or below) using apt and switch to it using the advanced options in GRUB. You should then be able to install the drivers normally, switch to experimental and enjoy the game.

Works as intended
Game works as expected. If there were any changes in performance I didn't notice

run so smooth.
Fixed by enabling vsync

Cannot do combat unless its very very light. 44 FPS on avg with medium graphic settings.
Does not run smooth at all, and this game needs to run smooth in order to play.
Unless all you do is Logi running this game on the deck is not a good experience. One would think the deck would run this type of game without issue, however that is not the case.

Online works great
No thinkering needed using GE-Proton

very minimal audio artifacts, barely noticable, if even, most users won't notice.
Steam defaults will fail to launch, manually set proton experimental

Chat window
Issues with staying connected, but thats not unique to the deck
The game would crash the whole computer when playing for a certain time. Even crashes at lowest graphics settings or when tinkered from latest (8.0) to Experimental.
