Smooth experience.
All fine.
BIOS: stay with the balanced profile and assign a minimum of 8GB to the GFX side (the integrated Radeon 680M). Linux: install ProtonUpQt and download the latest GE-Proton module and assign it to Heroic or Steam, that's depend which version of the game you got. I have the Ubisoft one via Heroic. Then follow the configuration to install (if already done, skip this step) the Ubisoft Launcher under Heroic (or under Steam). Then click on the properties (Heroic) and click on the WineCFG. Here you can set the DPI font settings (very important if you play on a 4K TV screen) the eventual extra drive you need to assign for the game instalaltion path and an index called "Staging" and there, just tick on all the voices, especially the "Hide Wine Version From Application". Then apply, then close the Wine config. Be sure that the current Ubisoft app is associated with the GE Proton module (you should already sat during the .exe installation). Fire up the app, log in, install the game.
Once in the game, just go to graphic settings and select the medium preset, do not exceed the spot light shadows above high settings because the ultra will stutter the framerate. 1080p as resolution and DX11 (default) with 50% scaling guarantee the best, smooth experience. The overall optimization is however better on The Division 2 rather than the first game but it's playable especially during the fights or competitive moments inside the so called dark zone. Everything is pretty much console-like experience.

Very minor graphical flickers sometimes with in-game menus (inventory, map).
An absolute personal "top 5" classic that was one of 3 things keeping a Windows install going. Great game with an eerily near-accurate prediction of societal response to a catastrophic pandemic. Some of the in-game propaganda and storyline seem like they could have been written post-COVID-19 but this was years ahead. Spooky. So happy this is running on Linux.

A cada dia o Linux se torna mais e mais competitivo no ambiente de games, obrigado Steam e aos desenvovedores Wine/proton por nos proporcionar essa liberdade.

Played throughout with a friend who was on Windows. No issues of any kind at any point. This includes in the Dark Zone with other random players. No need to do anything fancy with anticheat or anything.
I've been playing this game both on my Steam Deck and my RTX 3080 gaming PC. No issues at all. Multiplayer is completely fine, too.

Couldn't for the life of me get to play even with the suggestions and workarounds; Ubisoft can stick it

For Ubisoft Game Launcher download; wouldn't run with Proton tricks/non-Steam game
Makes me appreciate Ubisoft is seemingly going under, maybe their games will actually work when they're gone or acquired... or we'll have another The Crew scenario.

Steam version runs without any setting with Proton Experimental also it did install latest Ubisoft Connect for me. Only at first setup it took bit longer than usual but gameplay and everything works without any issue.

Ubisoft Connect is a bit of a pain when you first install the game, but once you launch it after that initial install, it's not much of a problem.
I didn't find most of the text that difficult to read, especially when you can scale the HUD to be more readable on a smaller screen. Other interfaces might present smaller text (e.g. the commendations tab), but it was barely an inconvenience for me. All in all, it plays rather well despite Ubisoft Connect.

Very rare artifacts in cut scenes
All cooperative elements of the game work normally
I am using the Ubisoft Connect version, I believe that the Steam version of the game will work just as well

Turned down graphics quality and limited CPU watts and GPU clock
Certain environments makes it hard for UI elements
Given its an old game, its hard for people to join in the matchmaking systems

Installed Ubisoft Connect through Lutris, then installed the game through the Ubisoft Connect launcher
Online works flawless
The game even had my years old cloud backup from windows

It's might be Void specific problem, but Ubisoft Connect stubbornly didn't want connect to internet - "A ubisoft service is currently unavailable" Finded solution on google - echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_mtu_probing
Aside of problem with UbiConnect the game works fine

The game works fine without tinkering
If you install the game as of now you get the new updated ubisoft launcher, it launches the game fine but if you get an error when opening the game you can always install ubisoft launcher on lutris/bottles, update it and replace the one that steam installed on "compatdata/365590/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/"

Hadn't played in a while, but the game loaded in my old save without issue's. Just where I left off.
Seems like the bundled Ubisoft launcher has been updated to the newer version, so no thinkering required. Just install the game and steam will take care of the rest.

Installed on steam with default settings and has ran fine for the few hours I played.

got some lag from time to time
Almost better than windows experience

Once you get this game working its fantastic. 60FPS on medium/high settings with occasional dips in the 40's. Very fun third-person RPG
To get this game working on the Steam Deck, you need to swap out the old UPlay files for the new Ubisoft Connect files. I followed this guide from reddit.
https://reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/11pq70i/can_anyone_get_the_division_1_to_launch_on_steam/
Additionally I recommend going into properties and changing the launch options to: "uplay://launch/568"
Initial UPlay troubles as noted by other users, "Cannot connect to UPLAY services".
Occasionally I would disconnect from the game or have a decent amount of lag but aside from that its flawless.
Ubisoft really needs to fix that UPlay issue and until then, it should not be "Playable" on the store.
On Steam, out of the box the game comes packaged with a Ubisoft launcher that does not work.
Following the steps on this link: https://www.protondb.com/app/365590#sOLwIgFZWA will make it work, in general lines:
- Install ubisoft connect on lutris
- Find the folder somewhere like: lutris/ubisoft-connect/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/ and copy Ubisoft Game Launcher
- Go to the steam installation of the game steamapps/compatdata/365590/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/ remove the Ubisoft Game Launcher and paste the one from Lutris.
Also, I had a problem where the game launcher would be looking for a patch, I just removed it from lutris and installed it again.

Well, I played for about 15 minutes so I didn't find any problems
To install the game and run it, follow the list below:
- Install the game on steam, you can choose any version of proton you want (I think so, I used experimental and 7.0-6) and use the required commands on your system (in my case it was the
prime-run
command) - Once installed, uplay will start and you will probably get an error about a failed connection, so far everything is fine. close uplay and steam
- Run lutris and install uplay/ubisoft connect on it, log into it and make sure it works. If everything is ok close uplay
- Open the steamapps/compatdata/365590/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/ folder and remove the Ubisoft Game Launcher folder
- Find the folder with uplay installed from lutris and copy the Ubisoft Game Launcher folder to the steam folder.
- Log into steam and enjoy the game.
Ubisoft Connect launches but with offline bug, can't login obviously, retrying does nothing

Lutris install for Ubisoft Connect opens but wants to "download" steam from within Connect instead of a play button
I've tried using Lutris to install Ubisoft Connect but that only opens Connect with no option to play the game (No play button only download button which doesn't make sense since the game is already installed). Trying thru Steam with a wine prefix and Proton Experimental (Ubisoft Connect included in said prefix) only causes Ubi Connect to launch with offline bug. This game used to work for me!
Tried, many solutions, nothing seems to get U-Play to work.
I used to have the game installed on the deck and it worked, but I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now I get connection lost error.
On DirectX 11 there is significant problem with stutter on every move
After changing game's api to DirectX 12 on native stable proton game wont start again anymore. Changing the proton to experimental fixes that.
On DirectX 12 the game runs flawless even without the precompiling shaders procedure at launch.

Default wine lutris-7.2-2 x86_x64 bottle
No issues at all, the game still rocks after 8 years! Vulkan API translation from DirectX12 is perfect. Obviously, the shaders on Nvidia cards with proprietary tech are at the state of the Art, but AMD owner cards will enjoy the same level of textures and post-processing.
Runs perfectly under forced Experimental. I'm surprised because it has to load uplay as well and it somehow manages to do it
Ubisoft Game Launcher is the initial hurdle. Once you get this over with, it should work without any other issue.
had to disable touchscreen with an always-on command

If you crash from doing something try upgrading the GE Proton to a newer version

Had to Download and Install the UPlayConnect separately to make it work
could not make matchmaking work at all
The game did not start on the first try cause the Ubisoft Launcher crashed after updating. I am using Nobara Project as a distro with preconfigured settings and drivers, so the game ran out of the box and perfectly fine on the highest settings.
Multiplayer works great. Inviting friends through Uplay may be a little funky if it brings up the overlay, but I haven't tried that.
Seems unplayable without manually installing Uplay, but has no issues afterwards. Runs great with low/medium settings and a 45fps cap.
Sometimes game crashes right after loading, second or third try works and game runs normal after that

Sometimes i have to reinstall UPlay
works perfect
forced to start with experiment proton, sometimes i have to reinstall UPlay / UConnect by using protontricks.
- Download UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe
- To copy UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe to [steam_path]/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Tom Clancy's The Division/tools/uplay
- Edit the file [steam_path]/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Tom Clancy's The Division/ww.vdf in line "process 1" "%INSTALLDIR%\tools\uplay\Uplay.exe" or similar.
- Change this line to "process 1" "%INSTALLDIR%\tools\uplay\UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe"
- Start the game
Works perfectly without any tinkering

So the game run smoothly on my pretty old for today standards game pc's. You have to have a ubiconnect account to play even throught steam. After first launch the ubiconnect updated without errors and the game launched. I run the game on custom High settings and I get an average of 40-50FPS. Gamemode gives a small boost to FPS but for the first 4-5 hours I played the game with out passing an custom commands. Pretty good buy for 7.50euros.

Usually, games that I tested in Proton have an diference of 3~5 fps in comparsion with Windows, this game have a diference of 20 in some parts, sometimes the game freezes and return, what is a problem in a shooter game. Parts of the city with more than 5 npc's have massive slowdowns.
When you close the game, Ubisoft Connect continues running, you need to manually finish the process.
No anticheat, no problems.
