Paradox Launcher working
I had no issues with the Paradox Launcher. Renaming the files was not needed (for me).
You should run this game in Proton. Natively, it is missing graphical features and runs in a set resolution.
Game crashes and fails to relaunch after changing graphics settings. You must delete settings data to get it running again. Fixed in WINE, should be fixed after Proton updates to 4.4
Restested with Proton 4.11-1. Game no longer crashes when changing graphics setting. Changing rating from Silver to Platinum.
Had to launch from desktop mode the first time. Subsequent launches work from BPM.
Performance was good. Completed the game with most characters.
Unlike others, I could not get it to launch at all on newer Proton versions. Using 3.7-8 and 3.7-8 beta, it launches and runs fine. Full controller support (Xbone / wired). Played for 4 hours without issues.
Reported Silver 3 months ago due to controllers not being detected. With Proton 4.2-5 everything is working. Played 6+ hours, no issues.
After initial loading screens, the game opens to a black screen. Attempted multiple versions of Proton & all the switches, but nothing seemed to be able to allow me to advance forward.
Newer versions of Proton (5.x) seem to lock the game to 1/2 speed, at least for myself. Works great with 4.11
Working perfectly
I previously reported this as broken, however it seems to be working just fine now. My daughter played through the first couple worlds without issues.
Error attempting to play movies
Tried skipping the into movie (ESC) but could not get it to go.
Audio is sometimes missing. You have to restart the game, sometimes multiple times to get it going.
Disable HDR in the game options to prevent graphical glitches. Works perfectly after that.
Had to launch initially from the desktop due to a pop-up window that I could not see from BPM. This is a SteamOS issue that happens in several games that initially have a popup window, so rating Platinum. Subsequent launches are fine.
It was necessary to manually copy the aforementioned .dll files. After that the game runs fine on 4.2-9. I can also confirm that using the manual Proton version by Glorious Eggroll [ https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/4.11-GE-1 ] FPS on my machine went up from about 35 to 50 FPS on the same graphics settings.
I previously reported this as Borked. Since applying the DLL override, it works perfectly. Played about 8 hours & tested some DLC.
The game runs, but crashes often. Will crash when backing out of most menus
The game crashes under several conditions, seems to crash everytime you try and return to the main menu from inside a game
Frequent crashing
Runs well; Thanks SteamPlay.
i bought this game the day it came out, and it never worked on SteamOS. Finally got to play it a year later with Proton.
The game runs, but there are texture issues with WINED3D and framerate issues with DXVK. Will test again later.
Tested with wired XBone controller: consistently at 45-60 FPS on high settings with motion blur off and trilinear filtering.
Graphically fine, but has mouse issues. Clicking does a 180 degree turn, etc. Very similar to Subnautica's mouse issues.
Initially rated Bronze due to mouse input issues. These seem to be resolved in 4.2-7. I played with mouse and wired Xbone controller, both worked perfectly.
Could not get it to launch in 4-11. Tested with 3-16 and 4-2
It looks like certain keyboard inputs (movement being a big one) don't work properly with my Steam Controller connected. Disconnecting the controller fixes the problem.
Restested after a few months. Controllers are now working (Xbone tested).
Runs perfectly. Double inputs were corrected by changing the Xbox controller settings to "forced off" in the Steam settings. This just affects the double inputs as far as I can tell. Tested several hours with a wired Xbone controller.
game runs but performance is BAD. Lowering settings doesn't seem to have any effect; even on lowest settings, getting 10-20 FPS. Xbone controller works.
Initially reported as Borked as the game would not launch...this was due to a popup window on initial launch that I could not see from BPM. This is a SteamOS issue, after launching once from the desktop, subsequent launches are fine. Rating Platinum.
