The missing sound effects makes the game much more difficult to play
all sfx volume was missing. This includes the opening cutscene, any menu sounds, gun sounds, enemy sounds. The music volume worked fine.

Excellent
I thought it was native until I checked

Extremely similar performance to how I would've played this on Windows. Not sure if gamemoderun
is required but after reading some of the forum posts I decided to include it as well. Expect FPS drops when a lot is going on (i.e. facing multiple bosses when activating teleporter in later stages)
A great game that I suck at

Works perfectly right out of the box on the latest stable Proton!

LD_PRELOAD="" gamemoderun mangohud %command% -nolog -high
Extreme stuttering and fps drop after about 30 minutes into a run whenever you input anything (moving aiming clicking etc), both GPU and CPU usage would also drop significantly, this can be fixed with LD_PRELOAD="" launch option, other than that the game runs just fine.
LD_PRELOAD="" gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 240 -f -- %command%
Initially, the game would not start and would go from play, to launching, to play again without showing any screen. After some tinkering I found the issue was due to the NTFS file system, my drive 2nd drive where my steam games are stored was originally formatted to NTFS when I was on Windows and didn't format it to ext4 until I realized that the file system was causing issues. After this, it still wouldn't run until I deleted and reinstalled both the game and proton. After this the game would run but had issues with stuttering / frame rate issues at around the 30-min mark, so the "LD_PRELOAD=""" was added fix this.

Consistent lag spikes and frame drops to below 30fps, even on minimum settings, as soon as I loaded into the first level. Essentially unplayable.
The last time I played I got solid 144fps med-high settings, which was on Windows 10 before the codebase was merged with console. Unsure if the latter is affecting things.

For me, I literally notice no difference between running this game on Windows(dualboot) or my EndeavourOS daily drive. Works flawlessly.

tinkering not really required, though it seems to help with frametimes
Works OOTB. No tinkering required.

Out of the box amazing game
One of the best roguelikes

Tried ProtonGE 9-21
After ~25 minutes there would be significant frametime spikes when using input
After ~25 minutes there would be significant frametime spikes when using input
I'm not sure if it's when you arrive on stage 4 or if it's based on time, but about ~25 minutes on stage 4 every run my game would start having extreme lag spikes, but only when I pressed an input on my keyboard or moved my mouse.
I tried this with Sway on Wayland and i3 on X11 and the issue persisted. I also tried using ProtonGE and gamemoderun and neither helped with the issue.
I was able to fix the issue by using gamescope (without mangohud). On almost all my tests, I had used mangohud and I can't remember if I tried recreating this issue without mangohud or gamescope, so mangohud might be the cause of the issue.
On the other hand, the LD_PREFIX="" might have been what fixed it since there is a section on the Arch Wiki when using gamescope that describes a similar issue. I wasn't using gamescope when this issue started, so I"m not sure if it's related.

After ~25 minutes input would cause frametime spikes.
After ~25 minutes there were extreme frametime spikes whenever an input was given. If I stood still or held sprint in a direction the FPS was fine, but as soon as I would press any of my keyboard keys or move my mouse it was a stuttering mess.
Works well out of the box, no tinkering required.
Runs great, no issues

This game is running flawless OOTB. Nonexistent stutters, no fps drops, nothing. For mods you may need to use R2Modman, but it's no rocket science to set things up

While the game run initially fine, without reason (didn t found a way to reproduce it) it start lagging. Usually happen in multiplayer when reaching stage 5 or more. Playing with the 2 DLC

Works on latest proton

Perfect out of the box
Everything went fine, multiplayer works too

Game worked almost flawlessly out of the box.
Very, very minor gameplay stutter for about 1 minute the first time I played.

mangohud gamemoderun %command% _GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION=1 DXVK_ASYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1
Consistent drops in FPS increasing as the game progressses and more is happening. In intense moments it would drop below 30 FPS, whereas on Windows I consistently stayed above 100 FPS.
This seems like an issue specific to my machine/configuration and I didn't experience these problems on Windows. Others usually don't have these problems on Linux.
Works out of the Box with proton, very nice

Runs well on lowest setting on the Intel HD 620
RoR2 runs flawlessly. Zero issues.,
Game is playable really nice

Missing sound effects really takes away from the experience
Music works, no SFX volume despite changing output devices

Game runs great without any changes.

Gearbox patched out the Seekers of the Storm update weirdness. Game plays smoothly (after toning the graphics back down from ultra).

Multiplayer mostly works fine. Recommend hosting lobbies yourself to avoid issues.

My previous report on this game was marked as negative due to egregious FPS-related bugs and also incompatibilties with non-60Hz monitors. This has been resolved.
