Works with Proton 9, but not Proton Experimental
I've completed the game offline using Proton 8.0-3 without a problem
I couldn't find a match online, but I guess is due to the game's age
A dialog comes up saying wine needs to download some tool to run the game. Cancelling or accepting does not matter, the game fails to start.
Cannot start the game with neither default nor experimental or ge proton
- Needs
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
to start. - With default proton version: Game changes to a different resolution and doesn't switch back. Switching back to original resolutions works with Proton 6.3-8.
- If you think the game looks blurry, go to "Help and Options" -> "Settings" and set "Filters" to "None". Also set your screen resolution to your the monitors resolution.
- When the game starts and ask you to press "space" press the "Start"-Button on the 360 Controllers to make them work.
Crashes immediately
The game doesn't launch and crashes immediately for me.
Save data is deleted when the game is uninstalled
Works perfect out of box on Steam Deck
No issues, default install with current Proton provided with Steam Deck.
borked, even with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
nvmd my previous report: more issues running games from an NTFS drive. had to uninstall Soldier, remove the NTFS library from Steam, then installing Soldier again and adding the NTFS library for good.
DxvkInstance: Failed to create instance
Proton 6.10-GE-1
Platinum! Everything works!
Excellent performance on my hardware. Tested with Logitech F310 and Xbox 360 Controller.
Platinum! Everything works!
Tested with Logitech F310 and Xbox 360 Controller.
The game does not start. I get a "Window not responding" notification and can "Wait" or "Force Quit".
Blur in images and shadows in text
Using alt+tab for exiting and entering again the game makes 3/4 of the screen black
Proton 5 didn't work, only proton 4 worked for me
Works out of the box, no tweaking needed, gamepad works out of the box as well
Running game with default settings caused black screen for about 1 min then very slow choppy animations for capcom logo and commands were unresponsive.
Used PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% and game ran perfectly after. Played for over an hour with absolutely no issues. Would have given game platinum rating if it wasnt for this minor tweak.
This is now perfect out of the box.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command% are NO LONGER needed in launch options.
The game initially launched but gave me a black screen, as other users reported, but looking closely to steam logs I figured out I had to install the "libnvidia-glvkspirv:i386" package. After this things worked fine.
Basic keyboard controls work, as well as the usual gameplay modes and options with more than adequate performance.
However, a small handful of controllers including a PDP Rock Candy wired 360 pad, official XBox One pad via USB, and a Hori Fighting Commander in all three modes (PS4, PS3, and PC) were not detected at all by the game. I have attempted with both controller configuration enabled by default, and forced off.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command% needed in launch options to get it to work perfectly. Otherwise it'll still work but not as well.
Would start to load, but screen would stay black and would lose mouse function. Had to hard reboot.
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command%' is still needed in launch options to get non choppy bluetooth audio but other than that, runs perfectly out of the box.
Played a lot more.
I previously set speex-10 as my default sampling rate in Pulseaudio. Without doing that, it works fine on speaker.
I had been sending audio to a bluetooth headset and the latency was slightly improved when using speex-10 over soxr-vhq. However, sometimes, the chopping and crackling audio still came back.
This also happened in Valkyria Chronicles.
Starting each with 'PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=30 %command%' in launch options seems to have sorted that out.
I also have disabled Esync in Proton config.
Works in this Proton beta flawlessly too. However, i noticed that with both 3.16-5 and 3.16-4, if your pulseaudio default resampling format is soxr-vhq, the audio is choppy.
However, if you use speex-10 as the default resampling format, it works beautifully.
Runs but has intense audio stutter,
Vsync is locked to a constant 60, without any reported framedrops, (without 800+ fps) Attempted to use proton pfx winecfg adding xaudio native > builtin. Didn't seem to help.
Ran without any modifications. Displayed only a black screen and caused the mouse cursor to disappear entirely from the system. Had to reboot the computer.
Runs flawlessly.
no problem
Simply perfect!
Doesn't display graphics in fullscreen mode; needs to be windowed. Also required PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 %command% to eliminate audio pops. Runs fine otherwise.
Perfect! Runs flawlessly.
