steam deck widescreen is crap for vertical scrolling bullet hell...
Locked at 58fps
Inspection with mangohud reveals that the frame rate is locked at 58 fps.
It appears to be a fault with the game, rather than Proton. Either way, I cannot recommend a shmup that exhibits constant micro stutter. Replacing an earlier report because I accidentally wrote that DXVK was used to check the frame rate (the game uses OpenGL).

Some initial control obstacles. Plays perfectly afterwards.
The game supports gamepad controls, but they won't work until you get into the game options and toggle gamepad control from "360" to "DInput." To get there you need to temporarily assign arrow keys and the 'z' key to confirm menu selections.
After that gamepad controls work fine.
Works fantastic with proton experimental as of 1/13/22
Overall the game works fine, with minor inconveniences
Menu inputs are performed twice, making it difficult to navigate the menus with my DS4. The keyboard can be used in its stead for the menus while keeping the controller connected.
Gameplay works fine however. I mapped the buttons through Steam configuration to reflect the keyboard keys used in the game.
I get minor stutters every 3-5 seconds regardless of resolution and window mode. While annoying, it does not prevent from playing the game.
The game can be played for the most part and behaves as it would under Windows. The controller and stutter issues are both present under Windows if I'm not mistaken, as they can both be found in the Steam forums.
Works fine if you don't press the right trigger button
Pressing right trigger on my Xbox One controller make the ship moves by itself. I had to restart the game.
As long as you don't press any of the triggers on the controller, this game will work like a charm. I recall it having the same issue on Windows, so it probably has nothing to do with Proton. That's why I choose to class it as platinum.
Xbox One controller is recognized but it doesn't work properly
very minor framerate issues/overheating
Contoller support is spotty. Keyboard / Steam Controller work
Installed fine, runs fine fullscreen.
